《A Magical Journey》Chapter 13: The training

Grizzlystrider, Maya, Vi and Lou made their way to the training ground while Dewglory and Lee headed to the librairy.
Lee was impressed by the incredible amount of books the tribe had. She looked around and saw that there was so many subjects! From gardening to black magic, it looks like everything was there. She could spend the rest of her life here and she didn't think she would be able to read everything... What a shame. Lee felt like home here, it was quiet and peaceful. If only Lou would not be so loud while training outside! She was annoying sometimes, but still she was good friend. Dewglory lead the scholar upstairs, where the section about Morgan was. They both look at the books and picked a few to read together. After a little while, the erudite asked a question that was bothering her for quite a while ''So you are the one that enchanted Maya's necklace?''
''Yes. Vi got me some books from their school and I figured out how to do it. They also helped me a bit, explaining the best they could how they saw some of their teachers enchant object with someone's magical power.''
''That is really impressive.''
''Maybe, but it took me more than three years to find out how to do it...''
''Three years!''Dewglory looked at Lee with big eyes, jaw a bit ajar.
''I know''Lee said, defeated ''it took so much time.''
''Not at all! Some of the best magician here spend their old life figuring that out. And you, without any knowledges, managed to do it in three years! It's such a shame you are not a part of this Circle, Lee. I've been waiting for eighty years to find someone like you here to take my place... And that did not happen yet. You would be a great leader.''
''Th... thanks.''Lee said, blushing.
She was about to say something but a big burst of light blinded them for a second. They both went to the window, to see a really happy Maya with still glowing hands and people around her still covering their eyes. Dewglory smiled at the view ''Looks like she is getting more confortable with her powers.''
''Yes, I have really amazing and talented friends.''
They both went back to their readings. They did find the ancient spell they used to seperate Morgan's power, but that is not what they needed. They would need the other sorcerers to give Maya his powers.
Eventually they found a way to take aways someone's power, but there was also a high risk of taking the owner's life at the same time...That was not an option either. After a while Lee started to talk to herself outloud while reading ''A sorcerer can give away his power at his own will and that will not kill him... So that mean, if we find a way to make this man give away his power to Maya.... But how? He won't accept it for sure... Maybe if we mix up the spell and her charmspeak...''
''That is an amazing idea Lee!''
''Oh....I... was only thinking out loud... Do you think it would work?''
''Maybe, Let me get the information we have about giving away powers and...''
''KNEEL!'' And they both put one knee on the ground and looked down. After a few seconds they looked at each other, confused. Lee recognised Maya's voice. It Looked like she was getting a good hang of her charmspeak power. That could be helpful for their case. Lee looked up the window to see Maya sitting on a bench with all the others surrounding her.

''You can go check on her if you want. I will get everything we need and I will start working on that new spell.''
''Thanks.'' And Lee ran to see her friends.
---
Grizzlystrider, Maya, Vi and Lou made their way to the training ground while Dewglory and Lee headed to the librairy.
Lou saw a man wearing the same outfit as Grizzlystrider, but in white and red, fighting alone with some weird looking weapons. It looked like some claws going out of his hands? How awesome is that? She went to him, holding her bow staff in her hand, and told him ''Your stance is way to wide, you won't be able to keep you balance that way.''
''I am the most skilled fighter here, what do you know about fighting, woman?''
She raised an eyebrow and quickly pulled his front leg with her bow staff, making the man fall in a split, dropping his weapons at the same time.
''Apparently more than you, man.'' She said while he was standing back up and picking his weapon, tha twas not a bow staff like hers.
''You caught me off guard...''
''Wait, didn't you have some claws thingy a moment ago? Why is it a bow staff now?''
''I can change the shape of my weapons.''
''THAT is the most epic magic power I have ever seen! But I guess I can't try the weapons you create?''
''No, the weapon goes back to it's original shape when it leaves my hands.''
''That's such a shame... So wanna train a bit?''
''With you?''
''WHAT ARE YOU SCARED TO FIGHT AGAISN'T A WOMAN?''Lee said almost screaming. Making the others look at them.
''...Of course not'' The man said ''bu tI won't go easy on you so be prepared! ''
He changed the shape of his staff to a single handed sword, Lou took her staff in both of her hands and they started to fight. Lou disarmed the man real fast once... twice... On the third time he said angrily ''Well that's not fair, your weapon has way more reach than mine!''
''Oh if that's the only problem then...''
She couldn't finish her sentence because she got blinded by a big burst of light coming from behing her. She heard Maya scream in excitement, she smiled and took two daggers from her boots. While standing back up, she told her opponent ''Is that more fair now?''
He then changed his sword to the same claws he had before and charged at Lou. She let him come close and blocked his attacks. They both fought for a while. Lou giving some advices at the same time. The man was reticent at first, but when he saw how great Lou was, he listened and got better with his fighting techniques. After a while they took a break.
''You are a fast learner''Lou said holding her hand up for an handshake. He went to shake it, but blue chains wrapped around him as green chains was wrapped around Lou and they both got pulled back. Lou landed right in front of Vi and the other inches away from Grizzlystrider's face. They all stood their for a few second, frozen.
''Now not that I disagree with that''Lou said in a sensual way ''but what was that for?''
''Yeah, Grizz what the hell?''
Both sorcerers snapped out of their transe and made their chains vanish. They both looked at their feet, ashamed.
''Sorry!''Maya exclaimed ''I was practicing my charmspeak and I told Vi told grab you and bring you back here... I didn't know it would also affect him too...''

''But...''
Vi gave Lou a small nudge to stop her from talking, they shook their head and Lou understood that it was better to not talk about it. The two fighters went back to get their weapons. Lou put back her daggers in her boots and got her staff back. She was still trying to understand what just happened when she heard a commanding ''KNEEL'' and she kneeled. She snapped out of it real fast and looked at Maya. She was about to faint and she ran to catch her before she could hurt herself.
---
Grizzlystrider, Maya, Vi and Lou made their way to the training ground while Dewglory and Lee headed to the librairy.
The three sorcerers went in the middle of the training ground. They talked for a while about Maya's powers and what she was able to do with it. They first talked about her healing power and how it would be hard for her to train it, since it was not a good idea for them to hurt themselves on purpose so she could train. But he offered her to come to the hospital later to help the healers if she wanted. She kindly agreed. They were about to talk about the light spheres but got interupted by a loud ''WHAT ARE YOU SCARED TO FIGHT AGAISN'T A WOMAN?'' They all looked at the fighters. Grizzlystrider raised an eyebrow and said to the others :
''She is definitly...''
''Amazing!''Maya and Vi said at the same time, laughing.
''That's not what I had in mind but sure... Show me that light sphere you are talking about.''
Maya created her small sphere in both her hands, smiling wildly. She thought it was cute, but she couldn't find any useful way to use it. The main sorcerer explained that light can be really helpful. It can light the way in dark places, but it can also send signals, give your position to your allies and blind ennemies. All she had to do is concentrate and make the light brighter and bigger. She tried to focus for a while. She managed to make to sphere bigger, but it was not that bright.
''Try visualising your sphere getting bright like the sun, maybe it will...AAAHH!!''
He couldn't finish is explaination since he got blinded by the light Maya created in her hands. When the light faded, she screamed in happiness ''I did it! I did it!''
''Yeah...like that...'' Grizzlystrider said rubbing his eyes ''Try to warn us before next time...''
''Sorry! Was it that bright?''
''Yeah M, it was pretty amazing!'' Vi said, giving the younger sorcerer a small hug.
''Really? It didn't really blind me, it hurts my eyes a little but I stil lcould see you.''
''Let's see if you can control it now. Try again, but make it less intense.''
Maya concentrated again on making the light sphere. It was easier this time. She made it shine a little more, just enough to make her trainers look away. She wasn't blinded by the light. 'This could be useful someday' she thought.
''I think you got that power figured out. What is the last one?''
''Puppyeyes!''
''What?''
''Charmspeak Maya''Vi said shaking her head ''it is called charmspeak.''
''That can be a tricky power. You have to be careful with what you say as it can not go as you want it. Words can be complicated sometimes. Try to make Vi here do something. But remember, be specific.''
Maya nodded and thought for a few second, she then smiled, clapped her hands and commanded ''Bring the one you love close to you with your chains!''
Both sorcerers went in some kind on trance and threw their chains to the fighters and pulled them back close to them. They all stood their for a few second, frozen.
''Now not that I disagree with that'' Lou said in a sensual way ''but what was that for?''
''Yeah, Grizz what the hell?''
Both sorcerers snapped out of their transe and made their chains vanish. They both looked at their feet, ashamed.
''Sorry!'' Maya exclaimed ''I was practicing my charmspeak and I told Vi told grab you and bring you back here... I didn't know it would also affect him too...''
''But...''
Vi gave Lou a small nudge to stop her from talking and shook their head. As the two warriors left, Grizzlystrider put his face in his hands, his brown hair falling over his hand, and complained ''This is exactly what I meant by being specific, Maya!''
''I'm so sorry I didn't know you... How could I... sorry!''
''Maybe you could talk to him about your feel..''
''NO!''
''Why not?''
''He's been happily married to his wife for three years....''
''Oh...''
''Now you can charm more than two people at once''the man said changing the subject ''but when you are charming lots of people at the same time, it will become harder. So I recommand to keep the command simple. Like a single word or a simple action. It could be something like 'stop' or 'walk over there' or 'talk' .''
''Oh so how my father use to talk to his servants, like KNEEL before me!''
And everyone around her kneeled in front of her. She put both of her hand in front of her mouth and started to feel dizzy. She was about to fall, but Lou catched her.
''Hey there M, don't overwork yourself now! Let's get you some water.''
They all went to sit on the bench that was near the entrance of the training ground. A few moments later, Lee arrived and went to check on Maya.
''This was amazing Maya. We could see the light and hear your command from up there ''Lee said pointing at the librairy. ''Even the people on the street were still trying to understand what happened to them.''
''Thanks! But I'm feeling a bit tired now.''
''Using your powers is indeed tiresome.''Vi said ''Let's get you something to eat.''
''If you are all fine with taking care of Maya, I would head back to the librairy now. I... We probably found a way to solve our problem.''
''It's fine bookworm''Lou teased ''go back to your old papers and have fun.''
Vi and Maya nodded and Lee headed back to the librairy.
''You can keep training with this guy if you want, Lou. I will take care of Maya. So we can talk about magic stuff.''
''You sure?''
Maya nodded and Lou hugged her, gave a quick kiss to Vi and went back to resume her training with the other. Grizzlystrider lead them back to the leader's house and left the two of them alone.
Maya sat at the table with her legs crossed on the chair seat while Vi was getting her some water and they decided to prepare a small snack for the young princess. She must be hungry since she used a lot of her magic power at once. They found some carrots and started to cut them and, of course, they cut their finger. They never were good at using knifes and other sharp items. Maya stood up to help them. After a small arguments, Vi let their friend heal the small cut. She felt a bit tired, but not too much. It seemed like she still had some power left in her.
''You are getting use to your abilities really fast M, it's amazing. I can sense how your magic aura is getting stronger.''
''Well, maybe it's because I've been using my puppy eyes... I mean, charmspeak for quite a long time. I only didn't know it was a powerful magic ability.''
''That could explain it. But you're still really great at it, don't belittle your progress! One sorcerer belittling itself is enough...''
''Oh yeah, they said you were an incredibly powerful one since you have four abilities... But why am I not sensing it? Is it because I'm not use to it?''
''No it's because I always hide my aura behind an illusions. I never wanted others to know how great I was. In Iztoros, when they notice you have incredible abilities, they want you do go to Valtani's school for 'gifted' enchantors. I didn't want to go there so I put myself in this illusion, or like a protecting shield at all time so nobody would know.''
''Sounds tirying...''
''A tfirst it was, but I got use to it. I don't really need to think about it now, it's just always on.''
''Can you turn it off for a bit? I want to know if I can sense other people's aura.''
''...Okay, ready?''
Maya nodded and gasped when she felt Vi's magical aura fill the house. Lou entered the house at the same time, all covered in sand and dirt from the training ground.
''How are you feeling M...''She stopped mid-sentence when she felt a wave of energy coming from the room. ''Why does it feel like you are in your dragon form Vi?''
''OOHHH yeah that's it! That's what it reminds me of! But I thought only other sorcerers could sense the magical aura. How come Lou can sense it too?''
''I guess I'm that powerful...''
''Wow!''Maya said.
''That's stunning''Lou said giving a quick kiss to her lover ''I will clean up a bit and I will join you afterward!''
Lou cleaned herself and put on clean clothes and headed back in the kitchen. They all talked about this and that, waiting for Lee to come back from the librairy with a plan. Because the ideas that they came up to wasn't safe and/or realistic, but they were still really fun to imagine!
When Lee and Dewglory went back to the house a few hours later, they were greeted by the others sitting at the table. Lou was sitting with her chair turned the other way, arm resting on the chair's back, Vi was sitting on their chair's back with their feet on the chair's seat and Maya was sitting full lotus style on hers. Lee pinched the bridge of her noses, embarrassed by her friends behaviour in front of the leader ''Can you sit straight on your chairs for once?''
''Not a chance!'' Lou exclaimed.
''I don't think so.'' Vi said.
''But I like sitting this way!'' Maya whined.
''You know'' the erudite half whispered in Lee's ear ''my offer of staying here is still open.''
''I'm having second thought about it!''
''Oh you love us, shut up! Your life here would be boring without us and you know it!''
Lee crossed her arms and went to sit with her friends, trying not to smile. 'Lou is right' she thought, but she wouldn't give her the satisfaction of saying it out loud. They were an eclectic bunch, but she loved being a part of this group. they discussed and settled on heading to the tower tomorrow moring. Will was held captive for long enough they thought. It wouldn't be easy, but their plan was great. Atleast they hoped it was.
