Chapter 41: Return to the Fields

[Narrator]: The day is now Wednesday February 28th, 3012, the Crystal Dome Games are at the end of the week and the Winter Homecoming Dance is just around the corner after that. Baku's final days in the Crystal Kingdom are fastly approaching, and he aims to tie up loose ends.

(Setting: Crystal Kingdom: High University- Main Hall)

(Scene: Baku and Millia arrive at the High University and meet Savannah and her friends.)

[Princess Savannah and Mitsune Akamiko]: *in unison* EEEEEEEK!!! LADY MILLIAAAA!!!

*The princess and Lady Akamiko swoop up the small girl hugging and squeezing her tightly.

[Princess Savannah and Mitsune Akamiko]: *in unison* We missed you soooo much! Oh my Goddess, how have you been!? We have soooo much catching up to do!

[Millia Grendar]: *Struggling* Hehehe... Hello everybody, I've missed you all as well... Umm, I'm sorry, I love you guys too, but... your breast... are suffocating me... *Gasp* !!! Oh wow, talk about feeling the love!

[Halenday Medellon]: It's been awhile, Lady Millia, you are still looking as sweet and pink as ever.

[Millia Grendar]: *Smiling* Yes, it certainly has been Master Halenday! I must say you are looking quite handsome and sharp yourself! And Lady Yamabushi…

[Ayurielli Yamabushi]: …

[Millia Grendar]: *Smiling* I bet you haven't lost your edge one bit! I can't wait to watch your performance in the Crystal Dome Games!

[Ayurielli Yamabushi]: ......... *Blushing* ... Thank you, milady. I'm glad to see you again. Hopefully your education wasn't put to complete risk thanks to that idiot who calls himself a hero…

[Millia Grendar]: *Smiling* Oh you mean, Baku? Don't worry, everything's fine! It's thanks to him that I'm back in the first place!

[Ayurielli Yamabushi]: If he took the time to learn basic math, you've never would've had to go through the trouble of getting kicked out of your own school…

[Millia Grendar]: Hmm... Yeah, I guess you're right!

[Halenday Medellon]: Oh, of course she's right, she is Lady Yamabushi after all!

[Mitsune Akamiko]: *Smiling* Yeah, she's so smart and strong!

[Ayurielli Yamabushi]: *Confused* Are you guys patronizing me?

[Baku Cree]: *Confused* Are you all agreeing that I'm an idiot?

[Princess Savannah]: Hey Lady Millia, wanna come to the mall with us?

[Mitsune Akamiko]: We're gonna do some shopping for the Winter Homecoming Dance and maybe find some lingerie after if you're interested in watching us!

[Millia Grendar]: *Smiling* I would love to, but Baku and I have some business to take care of in the Main City.

[Princess Savannah]: I see, very well then. You two have fun and be safe! When you guys get back to the Royal Center, feel free to come by the palace, Lady Millia. You know how to get in right?

[Millia Grendar]: *Smiling* I sure do!

*Millia reveals a small paper crane from her purse. It was given to her by the Princess a long time ago in third grade as a symbol of their friendship.

[Princess Savannah]: Goodie! Okay babies, we'll see you later then! *Singingly* Toodaloo!

*The princess and her friends speed off in Lady Akamiko's car headed for the mall.

[Millia Grendar]: Alright, are you ready to go, master Baku?

[Baku Cree]: Mmhmm, let's be on our way, Lady Millia.

(Setting: Crystal Kingdom: Main City- Main Street)

(Scene: Baku and Millia appear in the Main City)

[Baku Cree]: Say Milly, I know you're a born royal and that you and the princess have been good friends since like third grade, but how do you know her friends so well?

[Millia Grendar]: Oh, well whenever our families would host parties at each other’s manors, our parents would make us have tea parties.

[Baku Cree]: Hm... I think I heard my mom say something about having tea parties with the royals, too. She said she liked them.

[Millia Grendar]: Certainly, I bet the royal life is astronomically different than what it was like in the fields, huh?

[Baku Cree]: It absolutely is. Part of the reason why I took up being a hero was to have my mother move right into the Royal Palace.

[Millia Grendar]: Aww, how sweet of you! But yeah, I've hung out with the princess' friends on many, many occasions when we were younger... They were each so different, too. Lady Yamabushi was the definitely the hardest to relate to because our interest are so different... But with her, all I had to do was ask her questions about what she loves, weapons and kendo.

[Millia Grendar]: You would see her eyes glow and she'll just go on and on talking about the history and the art of samurais. It was so nice seeing her come out of her shell, she really is a sweetheart. Then, there was Lady Akamiko. Would you believe I used to be afraid of her?

[Baku Cree]: Really? Why is that?

[Millia Grendar]: She used to be such a bad girl. Being alone with her was scary sometimes because she was so unpredictable, antisocial and violent... Uhh, I don't wanna talk about it. But she's a total doll now, so I love her!

[Baku Cree]: Hm, that's interesting… I wonder what happened to make her change?

[Millia Grendar]: Mmhmm. I even had tea with Master Medellon quite a few times, before his heart was broken.

[Baku Cree]: Really? What happened to him?

[Millia Grendar]: That... is a… Sad, long story...

[Baku Cree]: I see... Well then, we're here...

*Baku and Millia appear at the gate leading to the fields.

[Baku Cree]: Home, sweet home…

(Setting: Crystal Kingdom: Crystal Fields- Secret Hideout)

(Scene: Baku and Millia appear at the Secret Hideout)

*knock knock knock

[Finn]: *In a weird voice* Uhhh... Who is it?

[Baku Cree]: *In a deep voice* It's the Crystal Kingdom Royal Guards! We have a search warrant!

[Barrtio]: *whispering* Holy crap, dude! Hide the manga!

[Baku Cree]: *In a deep voice* We're coming in now!

[Finn]: *In a weird voice* Uhhh... One second please, I'm nude!

[Baku Cree]: *In a deep voice* We are barging down the door in three... two... one!

[Barrtio and Finn]: *Shouting in unison* WE SURRENDER!

[Baku Cree]: *Laughing* HAHA! GOTCHA!

[Millia Grendar]: *Smiling* I'm here too!

[Barrtio and Finn]: *jaws drop* ..............................................

[Barrtio and Finn]: *Shouting in unison* BAAAKKUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!! MILLIIIAAA!!!!!!!

*The two big boys bear hug their friends who they missed very dearly and haven't seen in a long time and the group fell onto the floor. It was still littered with snacks and manga just like they left it nearly a month ago.

[Millia Grendar]: *Struggling* Geez, enough with the hugging already!

[Baku Cree]: *Laughing* Hahaha! How's it going guys? You miss us?

[Barrtio]: DID WE FREAKIN' MISS YOU!?

[Finn]: OF ALL THE CONDESCENDING AND CONTRADICTING QUESTIONS TO ASK! YOU SHOULD BE TELLING US, YOU IDIOT!

[Barrtio]: WHERE IN THE STINKIN' PLANET HAVE YOU BEEN!? WE THOUGHT YOU WERE TRIED AND EXECUTED!!!

[Finn]: AND WHY IS MILLIA WITH YOU!? WHY DOES THIS LOOK LIKE THE CRAZIEST STAGED REUNION EVER!?

[Millia Grendar]: Guys! Would you just shut up and listen to what Baku has to say!

[Baku Cree]: It's gonna be a long story. You guys ready?

*Baku proceeds to tell Barrtio and Finn everything that has occurred in the last month.

[Barrtio and Finn]: *jaws drop* ..............................................

[Baku Cree]: You guys okay?

[Millia Grendar]: He didn't break you, did he?

[Barrtio and Finn]: ............................................................. *Shouting in unison* WHAAAATTTT!!!!!!??????

[Millia Grendar]: Okay, that reaction was way too dramatic...

[Baku Cree]: Pretty cool story, huh guys?

[Barrtio]: *Freaking out* Pretty cool story!?

[Finn]: *Freaking out* Over dramatic!?

[Barrtio]: You just laid out an entire saga on us and you expect us to take that sitting down!?

[Finn]: We haven't seen you guys in ages, and then you're just gonna waltz on in here like you own the place sayin', "Hey, look at me! I'M THE FREAKING WORLD GUARDIAN!!!"

[Barrtio]: This is... This is too much... I need water... I need air…

[Baku Cree]: Here buddy, take a seat... But yeah, everything I told you just now is completely 1000% true.

[Finn]: So, let me get this straight... Baku.

[Baku Cree]: Yes.

[Finn]: You are royalty?

[Baku Cree]: Yes.

[Finn]: You are the World Guardian?

[Baku Cree]: Yes.

[Finn]: You live under the same roof as the princess?

[Baku Cree]: That is indeed correct…

[Finn]: *Blushing* Have you seen her nude?

[Baku Cree]: Mmmmaaayyybbbeee…

[Barrtio]: ... *faints* …

[Millia Grendar]: Was that really one of the questions you just had to know?

[Finn]: Baku... Are you living in an anime?

[Baku Cree]: At this point, after everything I've seen and done so far... I might as well be… My life has changed so much that I feel like I’m experiencing an extra surreal dream. Or at least I’m being transported into some kind of crazy power fantasy...

[Finn]: This is unreal... Who would've thought, our boy Baku. Who just turned 15 years old... Is gonna be the MOST POPULAR GUY IN THE WORLD!!! AND WE'RE HIS BEST FREAKIN' FRIENDS!!!

[Baku Cree]: You guys wanna see another really cool thing? Bam! Check these out!

*Baku flashes 3 tickets.

[Finn]: What are these?

[Baku Cree]: These are premium seat tickets to the Crystal Dome Games, where you guys are gonna watch me fight for free!

[Barrtio]: *Screeches* Eeeeekkk!!!! ....... *faints* ......

[Finn]: Wait... YOU'RE GONNA BE IN THE CRYSTAL DOME GAMES!?

[Millia Grendar]: *Mockingly* I know, can you believe it?

[Finn]: I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!

[Baku Cree]: Believe in what? Me being in the games or me seeing the princess totally nude?

[Barrtio and Finn]: *Shouting in unison* BOTH!

[Baku Cree]: *Sigh* Figures... So, what have you guys been up to while we were gone? Have you been holding the fort down? How come I haven't seen you guys in school at all?

[Barrtio]: Dude, after you disappeared and Millia was removed from the system, we thought we'd never see you again!

[Finn]: Yeah, so we decided to drop out!

[Millia Grendar]: *Freaking out* ARE YOU GUYS INSANE!?

[Baku Cree]: *Freaking out* GEEZ, CAN YOU SAY EXTREME!?

[Barrtio]: Well, I wouldn't say dropout. More like we couldn't figure out the paperwork for said process, so we just decided to stop showing up.

[Baku Cree]: But what about your grades? They're probably way worse than mine were by now.

[Finn]: Oh come on, Baku. You know you're the last person to talk to us about grades. Besides, none of that is important to the story and overall plot of what's going on!

[Barrtio]: Besides you know me, I always make sure we have back up plans, so we're all good!

[Baku Cree]: *Sigh* If you guys say so... Alright, so they're hasn't been any other problems with you guys since I was gone?

[Finn]: *Nervous* Uhh... hehehe…

[Barrtio]: Well, we had a bit of a run in with that Dumbass Julio a little while ago. Damn jerk caught us off guard and outnumbered…

[Finn]: Not that that's any surprise... He always fight's dirty…

[Baku Cree]: Yeah, I know... If I were around, things would've been different... I'm sorry I went ghost on you two... After they made me royalty, one thing kept leading me to another and--

[Barrtio]: *Smiling* Don't worry about it, Baku!

[Finn]: *Smiling* Yeah man, we're just happy to see you guys again!

[Millia Grendar]: Looks like the gangs back to together again!

[Baku Cree]: Yep! It feels so good having things put back to normal, relatively. But listen guys, I know it's gonna suck, but I'm gonna ask you guys to try to make it to school a little more often. I don't know how much longer I'll be around, but the least we can do is spend the most time as we can together. Trust me, things are gonna get better soon.

[Finn]: *Ugh* School…

[Barrtio]: *Sigh* Why though…

[Baku Cree]: Two words: "Royalty" and "Popular"!

[Finn]: Wait, you mean you could give us pull with the cool kids?

[Barrtio]: More specifically, Lady Akamiko, right!?

[Baku Cree]: More likely than not. Millia's good friends with the Princess' circle and I've been hanging out with them since I became the World Guardian. So it's worth a shot, right?

[Finn]: *Nervous* Oh man, I didn't think this opportunity would ever arise…

[Barrtio]: This is insane... Just the thought of being near such hotties is making me hyperventilate…

[Millia Grendar]: *Sigh* You guys are such nerds. So, do we have a deal?

[Barrtio and Finn]: Heck yeah!

[Baku Cree]: Heck yeah! Alright, the rest of this month is gonna be awesome!
