Chapter 15: Baku’s Birthday

(Setting: Crystal Fields: Baku's Home- Kitchen Area)

(Scene: Baku heads out for his birthday)

*It was early in the morning this weekend. Baku rolls out of bed, and gets ready for the day after freshening up and putting on a nice outfit his mother bought for him. Nicolatrice was in a bright mood as she was doing prep work in the kitchen.

[Baku]: *Yaawwnn* Good morning, Mother…

[Nicolatrice]: *Smiling* Good morning, Baku! How are you feeling today, birthday boy?

[Baku]: Hmmm... I don't know. I feel taller... Do I look taller to you?

[Nicolatrice]: You know what? You do look a lot more mature now. Like you've been making a lot of good decisions recently! I bet you can take on the whole world!

[Baku]: *Smiling* Hehehe... Thanks, Mom! Well, I'm off now! I’ll see ya later, kay?

[Nicolatrice]: Okay, Baku! Have a great day, and come home safely!

(Setting: Crystal Kingdom: Main City- Main Street)

(Scene: Baku and the crew try to enjoy his 15th birthday)

*Baku meets his bestfriends at the gate to the Main City. His friends were bundled up well to keep heat while it was getting colder the earlier it was. Barrtio had a sweatshirt on, the same kind you would wear to the gym. Always so athletic.

*Finn had a bulky jacket with fur around the hoodie. He certainly seemed comfortable. His pompadour looked like it was styled recently. Even though it was brisk today, once the boys get the fun started, it'll certainly warm them up.

[Finn]: *Smiling* Alright! Let's get this party started!

[Barrtio]: *Excited* Let's skip right ahead to the birthday punchies! Get ready for 15 licks, Baku! I've been doin' my pushups all month for this moment!

[Baku]: *Nervously* Uhh... Wait! If you punch me now, my arms will be too weak to give you a proper challenge when we hit the arcade games!

[Barrtio]: ... Hmmm... You're right... I guess it will feel better to pound you after I destroy you later at Ultra Versus Girls!

[Baku]: *Phew* ... *Thinking to himself* Thank the Goddess that Barrtio's been working on his delayed gratification…

[Finn]: Enough horsin' around! Let's hit the town, boys! We got a birthday to celebrate!

*Baku and his friends head toward the Main City. It was just early enough in the day for the streets to not be too busy just yet.

(Setting: Crystal Kingdom: Main City- Asteroids Arcade)

(Scene: The boys play their favorite video games)

*Baku and Barrtio play multiple rounds of Ultra Versus Girls Ultimate Arcade Edition 3 Turbo HD Remix.

[Game Station]: Player one wins! PERFECT!

[Barrtio]: Damn it! That's fifteen games in a row!

[Baku]: *Nervous* You don't wanna beat me up now do ya?

[Barrtio]: *Sniff* No... I'll admit my defeat, you're a growing boy now... I can't treat you like a child anymore...And I accept that I may never beat you at a videogame... But Baku! You must promise me that you'll become the greatest player in the world at this game! You must do it, for me! For I can not... Because I suck... at videogames...

[Baku]: *Nervous* Uhh... You okay there buddy? It's not a big deal, I'm only 15. I'm not packing my bags for college! Besides, I'm not that great, I only really play against you! I'd probably get destroyed against some nerd so lives to play this game all day!

[Barrtio]: Don't sell yourself short, my child! You will be a great warrior one day sooner than you think! *Sniff* ... *Crying* ... I'm so proud of you, Baku!!!

[Baku]: *Freaking out* Goodness gracious! Calm down, you big dumb idiot!

[Finn]: I know you guys are having your little bromance moment... But I'm getting kinda hankerin' for a pizza! Let's pig out!

*The boys appear at the pizza place and enjoy a meal with each other. Meanwhile, in the Royal Center, the Crystal King and Queen enter Oracle Oladion's bedroom.
