《Heart of a tree》Chapter 21

In a dark stone room
That was filled with a dim light emitted by a shinning pool whose water seemed to reflect the moon when there was none to reflect
It was right in the middle of the stone room
The pool was in a perfect circle but it was more of a large shallow puddle of water rather than a pool
The old man called The Priest leaned heavily on his staff right next to the shinning pool
Staring intently into the pool
Which showed a blurry image of David struggling to enter a mediation state in his room
He seemed unaware of anyone watching him
"Oh, you poor little boy"
The Priest said in his raspy creepy voice which sounded like two people speaking as one
"We should help him," he said to himself
"Yes we will help him"
"NO!"
An enchanting female voice echoed right then
startling The priest causing him to turn around astonished
The voice seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere all at once
The Priest began to look around trying to find the source of the enchanting voice
Not finding anything he gave up and pointed at the pool
"Why not?" He asked out loud
"I mean look at him",
"He is practising so earnestly it is almost pathetic still unable to advance"
The priest began to tremble with the excitement of anticipation of the thought of helping the boy
"Just let us help him" he begged
"We could tell him everything and he will be a gold core in no time"
"Please let us help him"
"Just this once" he added said this condition would allow him to do what he wanted
He looked around the room at the dancing shadows in the room hoping to get the permission
"He is deceiving you, fools"
An old woman appeared out of the curling shadows speaking in the same enchanting voice that echoed a moment ago in the room
Which did not match her appearance of an old woman at all
She was dressed in a tattered and dirty white robe which was almost yellow
Her face was haggardly wrinkled and looked tried
But unlike most people, her skin was completely black not dark but black
If David saw her he would associate her of African origin
Her mouth seemed to be curling into a smile
Showing a clean set of white bright teeth that seemed to glow in the darkness
"What are you doing here?"
The priest asked astonished pointing at the old black women
Who apparently just came out of nowhere
"Aren't you out there getting to know the apostles?"
The priest said as if causing the woman of a gruesome crime
"I thought just your consciousness clone was here "
The woman shook her head as if laughing at the comment of a child
" Has exiled dimmed your wit old friend?" The old woman asked
"I thought you had the intelligence of two people so disappointing"
"What are you talking about?" The priest asked bewildered
"I am not your friend I don't even know you and I am the same as before my wit has not dimmed one bit," he said in one angry breath and then began to huff
The woman suddenly lost her smile and bowed her head in sadness

But just as quickly she raised her head and looked toward the priest with anger
"Then can't you see the boy already has the strength of an initial second-grade being," she said in a mocking tone
"perhaps even more if he hid his strength from everyone else"
The priest looked shocked at this news
He pointed at the pool where David was seemingly struggling
"Are you sure?" He asked doubtfully
The woman once again had a smile on her face and nodded
The Priest looked at the pool amazed and open-mouthed
But soon began to smile happily like a crazy man
"Great, Great, Great," he said stroking his staff affectionately
"The boy has good instinct he will surely survive now"
The old woman walked around the pool and looked at the boy who was still Pretending to struggle
"Yes he will," she said mesmerised
The priest looked at the woman with a weird expression not understanding her reaction
He cleared his throat
"Are you ready to tell us about yourself now? He asked
" like, who are you? what is your name? And such"
"I am no one",
The woman said continuing to walk around the pool mesmerised
The dim light seemed t make the woman look like a young beautiful woman who matched the enchanting voice
The priest also watched her also mesmerised
" I merely a nameless observer"
"An observer?"
The priest mumbled to himself without turning his gaze from the woman
The woman nodded moving to his side
"For Yasmin?" he asked as the woman was still intently watching the boy in the pool
But the woman stayed quiet choosing not to answer
The priest took her silence as affirmation
He was excited by the aspect
"Does that mean that woman is finally willing to act?" The priest asked sounding hopeful
The woman continued to stay silent
The Priest shook his head as if giving up
"Can you at least tell me what you are observing?"
He was ready to be answered in silence but to his surprise
The woman pointed at the pool without breaking her gaze from the pool
The mesmerising smile on the woman face grew brighter
Putting the priest in a trance
The shrugged and also smiled
"Do as you will then?" he said backing off
"I am very happy just by knowing he will survive"
" A new soul after so many millenniums is rare...
The priest stopped himself from taking when he saw the woman finally looking at him gone was the young beautiful face and back was the old wrinkled black face
He awkwardly cleared his throat
"I will take my leave now"
He said trying to sound casual
" you can stay as long as you like and observer observer"
The woman just nodded
The priest raised his staff and banged it hard down on the ground
All the dancing shadows all around him sprung to life and engulfed him swelling him whole
Leaving the woman alone in silence
She just turned back to the pool and began to look at the boy who had begun to do push-ups
She just stood next to the pool smiling happily in the dimly lit stone room
But she lost her smile when she saw pollux walk into the room
With his signature disgusting smirk plastered on his face

Disturbing the boy
She looked angrily and carefully at Pollux
"You will die monster I will make sure if it"
She said with gritted teeth
She threw a peelable to the pool
Instantly the image of the boy disappeared and the pool lost the shining light
Engulfing the entire stone room into darkness
.....................................................
I was getting irritated
just sitting there doing nothing was exhausting strangely
Sam was dancing circles all around me
Singing the warning some he had come up with
"Not yet, Not yet, my good friend not yet.............."
That ticked me off more
My emotions weren't under my complete control these days
That wasn't something I needed or desired right now
I had to control myself by not acting on these emotions every single second of every fucking day
It was exhausting
That fact alone made me angrier not to mention every single small thing that fuel my anger
I just got fed up from waiting for this so-called Priest watching me
As soon as I got to my feet Sam freaked out
"Not yet, Not yet the priest is still watching he will know, he will know, not yet"
Sometimes this man made no sense at all at others times he made perfect sense I called it his lucid time which was very short and at frequent intervals
Lucid him and mad him were not just two different people but three
There was the lucid happy guy
Who would give me lessons and training tips and advice which were only good like one per cent of the time and a lot of times it was exactly the opposite of what I wanted to do but every time he told me to do something every instinct in me told me to do exactly that
Then they was the lucid angry Sam
During his angry lucid moments,
His eyes usually began to glow yellow and both of them was filled with such intense anger and hostility that you could never even guess at what might be going through his mind
Bonce in a while whenever that angry lucid time was lasting for long, when I try to talk to him he only says that he will not listen to me and walks out shouting that I was crazy for not listening to him and saying
That he is going somewhere and he doesn't come back for days
Then like a gust of wind, he comes back dancing and singing usually about a priest and his brothers
And then he would be his mad self most of the time he would make no sense just like now
I decided to ignore him and got on my belly and began to do push-ups
Physical exercise was the efficient way I could calm myself at this time
I had no idea who this priest was but every few days he would come to watch me and that was according to my naked mental ghost companion whom for some strange reason I trusted completely
I tried to tune out the noise and distraction and focus on the push-ups
Funny how I never really liked exerting myself now just to stay to sain I had to exert myself to the very extreme
I felt a headache building just right behind my eyes my head was beginning to spin
This was a sign I needed my nap which was too short in my opinion
But I was never able to sleep past a certain point he even though I wanted to
Just I was struggling to decide whether to stop and go to sleep or continue the show for my audience
Pollux marched in
I pretended to be blind acting like I didn't notice the look of disgust and disdain that was plastered on his beautiful face
The titan of a man came straight to me and stopped 6 feet away from me like if he came any closer he would catch something
"Are you done?" He asked me in his mocking tone which I frankly did not care for
If I was even a little sure to take him on I would have pounced on him and gouged his eyes and then I would have ripped his smug face right off his.....
No, no no angry David be cool David
I started to mentally barrage myself to calm myself so I didn't act on my not so nice instinct
This is exhausting
I stopped doing pushups and sat crossed leg deciding to stay silent rather than giving the satisfaction of answer to this asshole
Pollux just scoffed when he saw I want answering he took out a small pouch from his sleeve
Which was weird generally he would wave his hands and things would just appear which piqued my curiosity at what this thing was
I didn't have to wait long as he opens the pouch and threw the content at me
100 or so small pills came flying toward me
I would have evaded this surprise attack and given away my most cherished secret if not for the shout from Sam
"Don't move"
So I stayed still letting the pills hit me only reacting like a sacred small child
Pollux skilled smugly when he saw me
"This your ration for next couple of days, take them"
I ignored his warning and made no moves to take the pills.
As if reading my mind he threw another handful this time around with a force that was not possible
The pills hit me and knocked me right on my back
He then made a threatening arm gesture at me
"If you do not want a visit to the isolation cells you will mind me, boy," he said "I don't want to have to deal with you again tomorrow but I will have to" he added
I rolled and got to my knees looking at him with a facade of a scared child
"be prepared I will be taking you to the mines tomorrow don't forget to pack your things"
He began to laugh and then turned and around and left
I decided to lie down my vision was getting dizzy now
Sam began to sing again in a language I didn't know
I didn't care about the priest and went to sleep
Strangely enough the song Sam was signing sounded like a sweet lullaby to my ears
I felt I was back at the lack but at the same time
I felt disgusted at the sensation
feeling as if I was floating in a pool of my own filthy sweat instead of the clear lake water
But soon I was engulfed in darkness

Magriculture (Rewrite)
When Aurum Industries announced the first Full Immersion Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (FIVRMMORPG if you're hip) Limitless Online, most people saw it as an opportunity to live out their sword and sorcery fantasies. John, however, saw it as the opening of a new and as of yet uncrowded job market. One he was willing, and eager, to exploit. Determined to make money through virtual hard work and effort, John sets his sights not on the heights of magic or the perfection of the sword, but instead upon the tilling of the soil and the sowing of seeds as he explores the wide and wonderful world of magical agriculture all from the comfort of his own bed. Disclaimer: This is a rewrite of the original "Magriculture", which some of you may have read. (To those who did, you have my deepest gratitude, it is absolutely because of your patronage and comments that this rewrite happened, and I feel the story is better for it.) That said, this story is not a complete and polished work, there will be mistakes and errors, an occasionally these errors may mean I need to rewrite portions of the story (as of this posting the story has gone through two major rewrites already, and I'm seriously hoping there won't be need of a third.) Because of this, there may at times be changes. Such changes may be as small as editing a few numbers (such as going back and changing how much mana an object holds) or it may force me to re-write entire chapters (this has happened once already, and I'm really hoping it doesn't happen again, but... life). Minor re-writes will probably never be posted here. Major rewrites probably will. Anyway, what this boils down to is: If you're looking for a fully cohesive story with few to no errors and publisher level editing, this is not the story for you. If you're looking for a cohesive plot that's more than "Man farms, man farms, man farms well, man maybe makes money" you're probably also in the wrong place, but I will attempt to entertain you anyway.

But, it all changed when 20 students from an ordinary high school were caught in a mysterious phenomenon.
