Granny Yu was a companion maid, even though her talent to cultivate was sub-par at best,
she was an excellent maid,
for over 150 years, she had been a maid, serving the eldest daughter of the royal house of Xing from the Zhong dynasty far north
there weren't any complaints from anybody in all the years she had worked as a maid
Granny Yu considered herself faithful, accomplished, and a veteran at her job
There weren't many situations granny hadn't been in practice. She had been in all of them
Cleaning, cooking, childbirth, infant care, nursing some injured, recovering from an injury she had done them all.
In fact, these were a few of the many reasons she had come so far south with miss Xing because she had experience taking care of children and had the basic knowledge of midwifery among cultivators.
Granny YU was very accomplished and successful in her profession
But today, she felt like a failure She felt helpless.
She had never felt such helplessness; it was a new feeling
Back when she was a child and still learning how to do things,
she had felt helpless sometimes, but a more experienced maid would take over,
and the problem would be solved And after granny Yu matured,
she had never needed help even a new situation came up,
she could handle it
Ever since she found that the mistress was pregnant
Granny Yu was over the moon with happiness;
she felt that the child would help her poor bookworm of a miss who only knew how to take care of
her medicinal field her cauldron and taking pills all the time
Ever since miss had walked on this path of cultivation,
all she did was cultivate meditate and pill refinement
When Granny Yu found that miss carried not one but three children,
she felt even more gratifying hoping these children would change her mistress for the better
All the hopes and dreams of granny Yu had been brutally crushed

The children were born
Two boys and one girl
They were named with the surname of their father
The names were given by the mistress herself, making granny Yu feeling giddy
The firstborn was named Liu wang, a boy with the spiritual eyes
The second was called Liu Yun, a girl born with a 5-element spiritual root and the 5-element
heavenly body
The third born was named Liu Yuntao, another boy he was born with the mutated thunder element
root and blue thunder spiritual body
Three children were born three exceptionally talented children
But that is where the happiness of granny Yu ended. Miss was not interested in the children the way
granny Yu hoped
For her first, all she could think was his eyes and would they could mean
For her daughter, all she could think was how she was perfect for inheriting the Xing clan cultivating technique of the 5-element white lotus spiritual art
For her son, she told granny Yu that he would inherit the Liu clan
And when the mysterious message from the royal capital had come, she didn't even stay for a week
She left 3 days after giving birth to the children
Taking with her only the daughter
She left the brothers back in the red star sect
For Liu Yuntao, it wasn't so bad
he was celebrated and cherished by not just the Liu clan but the entire red star sect
She even heard that he was being accepted as a true disciple by some nascent divinity realm ancestor
But for Liu Wang, it was an entirely different story
When Liu wang came into this world, he came in quietly sleeping
Even when he woke up, the child didn't cry
Granny Yu had broken into a cold sweat with a chill down her spine
Even After the baby drew out the amniotic fluids, the babe still kept on sleeping without any movement, any expression changes, or even a sound
Like a stillborn

Granny Yu had scooped up the babe and went into a corner, hoping to hide the corpse from the mistress.
Even though she knew it was useless, a dozen divine senses were monitoring the place of the birth.
As granny Yu touched the babe, she felt a perfectly normal heartbeat
With that, she breathed a sigh of relief
And then the babe opens his eyes
His golden piercing eyes
That scared granny Yu so much that she felt nothing cold all over a body
Like many others, she thought that some all being had taken over the young child's body.
How wrong she had been
Granny regretted creating the panic that day
After all those tests and speculations, it was nothing but that a newborn soul was blessed by the heaven.
A blessing had turned into a curse for the child.
The day child had been born granny Yu and brought her thoughts attention to master Xu, the mistress's younger brother.
He had thanked her and told her how great of a maid she was
She had felt so happy
But today, standing in the corner of the courtyard, she nothing but guilt and regret.
In the middle of the courtyard sat a 2-year-old child staring at the sky and doing nothing
Granny Yu felt great heartache watching the child.
The day When she took the child in her embrace from master meng
the child didn't cry or make a fuss; he just stayed quiet
Over the months, granny Yu noticed more of the odd behavior
The child would not move, cry, or make a fuss. The only time she heard anything from him was when he soiled himself
he would make noises to grab the nearby servant attention, who would change him
If you fed him, he would feed, but he would never cry or even make a sound if he was hungry
The child was skinny and frail
it took a lot of effort from granny Yu to make the child gain some weight and strength
In a month time, he became healthy and strong enough to crawl
Granny Yu had emptied her saving to buy pill panaceas and spiritual objects that would improve the physique of the child
Even though the child could crawl, he never went anywhere never moved around like the children his age should do
The babe was beautiful, but he never smiled. He never even open his mouth
He would just sit for hours altogether staring at nothing in particular
A year and had passed since master meng handed the child to her
The child could now walk, and she had brought him to the courtyard so that the child could walk
And enjoy the outdoors a bit and breath some fresh air
The child did start to walk, but he just went to the middle of the courtyard and just sat down
It had been 3 hours, and all he did was stare at the sky
Granny Yu felt great pain her heart
There was a lump forming in her throat
Yesterday she had master Liu ren take a look at his spirit, and master ren had said that he had not found anything wrong physically or spiritually.
"Still, there is a chance that he could have hurt mentally and turned into an idiot" he had said.
Granny Yu had been shocked by the news.
As she looked at the poor child, she broke down in sobs
He was supposed to be a great hero who would have shocked the world,
but instead, he turned into an idiot
And all because of her because she felt afraid
AS granny Yu stood there crying
The child named Liu wang sat there staring at the sky
If anyone had come near him
They would notice him mumbling something to himself
If they would have come closer,
they would see clear crystal tears falling silently from his eyes

A Cleric's Life for me.
This is a casually written story loosely based on TTRPG games like DnD and Pathfinder. The attempt of the story is to have a slow growth in power and comical set of characters who eventually grow close and set off for more serious adventures. There will be plenty of familiars and funny tales that don't involve combat. The intention is not to be a goody-two-shoes cleric story where nothing bad happens. The intention for this story was a slow paced grungy story where everything seemed great at first and things just kept getting worse. I learned how shitty of a story that is to write and honestly I am just not good enough to get the idea down. I plan on revisiting it later.
