Today is finally the day, I’M GOING TO SCHOOL!!!

But first off is breakfast, like always, by the time I make it to the dining room, Adaline and her father are already seated. A chef came out and told us that we will be having oatmeal, topped with bacon, cheese, and eggs. We also got a glass of orange juice.

After eating breakfast, it is finally time that Adaline and I head to school. We enter a carriage that drives us to the marketplace, then we started turning north, facing the Royal Palace. We get on the road to the Royal Palace and turn east onto another road. This whole trip took around 20 minutes or so.

As we are approaching the Royal Spirit Academy, we say our goodbyes.

We are saying goodbye because students at the Academy focus on cultivation and usually can’t exit the Academy except on important occasions.

Surrounding us, are thousands of carriages, with returning and new students, all saying goodbye to their families and loved ones.

After a while, Mr. Ronts finally leaves, and Adaline and I head to the school’s gate. As we are approaching, we both see a table in front of the gate, blocking the way, with an old man sitting behind.

ALL STUDENTS, BEFORE YOU ENTER THE ACADEMY, YOU MUST TAKE A TEST TO SEE IF YOU ARE QUALIFIED!! (Old Man ???)

THE TEST IS TO SEE YOUR CURRENT CULTIVATION AND YOUR STRENGTH! (Old Man ???)

Wow… this guy yelled VERY LOUDLY… I think that all the thousands of potential students heard him loud and clear.

After hearing the old man, all students rush to form a line, but no one wants to go first. Then, a boy walks up to the front.

Haha. You weaklings, aren’t you guys just scared of a little test. It’s simple, anyone can pass it! I guess that all you people are just trash!! (Arrogant Boy)

The arrogant boy walks up to the front, places his hand on the crystal orb, and it lights up green, next he heads to the crystal pillar, and throws a heavy punch. No lights appear… Slowly, a light starts to appear at the 1st level, but it is very dim.

WHAATTT!!?!? YOU OLD MAN!! THIS IS RIGGED!!! I’M THE STRONGEST OF ALL THE PEOPLE IN MY GENERATION!! (Arrogant Boy)

Sorry boy, but you didn’t pass. NOT GET OUT OR I’LL MAKE YOU!!! (Old Man ???)

The arrogant boy runs away…

There is a complete silence…

After 10 or so minutes, another boy walks up, he doesn’t talk much. He touches the crystal orb and it lights up green. Then he walks to the crystal pillar and punches. 5 LEVELS?!?! That punch didn’t look that strong?

I guess that everyone else was thinking the same thing because someone asks:

5 Levels? How is that possible? This boy’s punch was way weaker than the previous one, but it reached 5 levels? (Random Student)

Well, the previous boy’s punch which reached only 1 level, is because the crystal pillar measures innate strength. (Old Man ???)

I don’t get it?? (Random Student)

It is because the first boy used a strengthening skill and also consumed pills that increased his strength. If he didn’t use these he would probably get to 2 or 3 levels. The pillar can tell if you are using things that strengthen yourself. To you future students, if you were planning on doing the same, I recommend that you don’t (Old Man ???)

After what the old man said, the speed of the tests increased. More and more students decided to take the test. Most of them passed, but a few of them still failed at the punching stage. So far no one has gotten higher than 5 levels on the punching test.

Next up is Adaline. She gets a green light on the crystal orb, and then heads to the crystal pillar, she breaths deeply and throws a punch… Nothing… Then suddenly, lights start appear, all the way up to the 6th level!!

Congratulations!! You’ve actually gotten to the 6th level! Everyone should know that the difference between the 4th and 5th level isn’t much, but between 5th and 6th level, it is like the distance between earth and heaven!! And that distance just increases by thousands of folds the higher you go up. So you can say that levels 1-5 are weak to normal, while 6-10 are geniuses!! (Old Man ???)

If Level 6 is already considered geniuses, what are levels 9 and 10? (Random Student)

That’s a good question. Someone at level 6-7 can be considered 1 in 1,000, while level 8 can be considered 1 in 10,000. Level 9 would be 1 in 100,000. And finally level 10… I’m not too sure, I haven’t seen any people at level 9 or 10 before. I’m guessing that you might not even find a single person at level 10 within 1,000,000 people! (Old Man ???)

After the Q&A section, more people went to take the test, still there weren’t anymore people above level 5 like Adaline.

Then finally, it is my turn… I walk up to the crystal orb, and touch it… The light glows, but it is not red or green, it is black…

That is weird, I haven’t seen something like this before… Why don’t you just move onto the 2nd test.

I head to the crystal pillar, I get into stance and I punch… The light slowly reaches 3… 4… 5… It finally stops. As I begin to walk to the side, the light continue to go up, 6… 7…… 8……….9……………..10!!!!!!! It actually reached 10!!! This might be caused by cultivating Emperor’s Way!!!

Oh my!!!! L-Level 10!!?!?! S-Sir, may I have the honor of your name? (Old Man ???)

Mevirs, you are the 1st ever in the history of this school to have reached the 10th level on the crystal pillar, I want to ask you, how did you do it even though you are just a (Low) Spirit Apprentice? (Regus)

Well I’ve been practicing a special cultivation method called E- (Mevirs)

Well the main reason I brought you here, Mevirs, is that I want to help your cultivation, by giving you different benefits. First I want to clarify something with you… The crystal orb signifies one’s affinity to elements. If the orb is red, that means you don’t have much or any affinity with any of the elements. If the orb glows green, that means that you have a strong affinity with a certain element. This black color though, I’ve only seen this once before, when I was a child, I joined this school, we had the same tests, at that time there was one boy, who also had a black light coming from the crystal orb. This boy had a strong affinity with all elements. I don’t know what happened to him though, I haven’t heard any news about him ever since he graduated, but I do know one thing, he had a perfect affinity with the dark element. Even demons and monsters don’t have a perfect affinity with it. (Regus)

So if my intuition is right, I think your strongest affinity is also the dark element. That is why I want you to focus mainly on it, but I also want you to learn skills from the other elements, so that you can protect yourself from almost anything! (Regus)

Behind this building, there is a Cultivation Tower with 100 levels. Each level has 5 parts, 1 for each element, fire, water, wind, and earth. The last part is in the center of the other 4, which has a high concentration of all 4 elements. The higher the level the higher the concentration. There are only limited spaces so every half a year, we hold a tournament to decide who get’s what spot. The top 500 in the tournament gain the right to use the tower. Each level can support 5 people. Normally, new students don’t have access at all to the tower, but luckily, I can put you on the bottom level, since this is still thousands of times better than outside. This is because the returning students are usually stronger and we just keep the same list from the previous year. Mevirs, you are an exception because of your outstanding talent. (Regus)

One more thing to point out, Mevirs, since you missed the opening ceremony due to this, you didn’t receive a dorm room. Dorm rooms are located in the dormitory, and each dorm room can hold up to 4 people, regardless of gender. So once you’ve decided, ask one of the current members to duplicate their key. There can only be 4 of each key at a time, or you won’t be able to duplicate it. (Regus)

As I look toward the direction of the voice, I see Adaline. I start walking to her.
