《Meta Human》Chapter 15: Pulse

"Alex..... Alex... Wake up. Wake up, Alex." Jessy shook Alex who was having a nightmare and shifting restlessly in bed.
Alex slowly opened his eyes and his mother's face came into view.
He was still breathing hard and had a deep frown on his face.
"Don't worry. It was just a nightmare." Jessy comforted her son.
Alex asked in a hoarse voice, "What's the time? " then sat up.
"It's 11 a.m. Breakfast is served."
"I'll be there. Thanks." Alex smiles at his mom.
"Hurry." Jessy then stood up and went downstairs.
Alex fell in his bed again and looked at the ceiling trying to remember the dream he just had.
After half a minute he sighed and got out of bed and went for a bath.
"Hey, dad, David." Alex pulled a seat and sat down.
"Good morning Alex." his dad replied.
During breakfast, Alex tried manipulating his mom's thoughts and he had some progress. But for some reason, his brother's thoughts were never accessible.
"Alex, we should go shopping after this," Jessy said looking at her son.
A smile formed on Alex's face; "Not now maybe next time, we're having exams next week."
"OH okay," Jessy replied.
"Am coming for you." Alex heard a thought. But the thought wasn't from anyone in the room.
He looked around but everyone seemed normal.
"Alex Alex Alex, no matter how much you look, you won't find me."
Alex dropped the fork in his right hand; "Am satisfied mom. I'll go to my room now."
Before Jessy could say anything, Alex left without another word.
"Who are you?" Alex asked through his thoughts as he climbed the stairs.
"Me? Hahaha. Just call me Luv bae. Does that ring a bell. " the voice laughed.

It sounded like a mixture of a male and female voice with a vibration.
It was unrecognizable.
"Enough of this. You're the one that has been texting me. Just tell me your real name."
Alex got agitated as he sat down in his bed.
"You want my real name. For now, call me Pulse."
The voice said again.
"Enough of this. Just tell me who you are." Alex pressed his temples with his thumbs.
But then just like on WhatsApp, the voice never replied.
"This is stupid." Alex thought to himself.
Alex got up afterward, frustrated, and headed to the balcony to have some fresh air.
He breathed in and out as he let his mind relax.
But something caught his attention. A dark figure hiding behind a tree looking at him.
As if noticing it had been spotted, it disappeared.
"Alright..." Alex walked back inside, "This is weird," he said placing both his hands on his waist and let out a sigh.
His bracelet flashed twice with a chirping sound and a screen projected onto Alex's arm.
Message from Uncle Ruff:" Meet me at the lab. "
Alex went downstairs immediately.
" Where are you going?" asked Alex's dad when he noticed Alex reaching out for the Dorr handle.
" To study at a friend's place. "
" Alright, don't delay there. " Henry said then continued chatting with David.
Alex dropped his bicycle as he looked at the wall in front of him.
He attempted to walk through but fell on his butt when he bumped into the wall.
He winced in pain as he clutched his forehead.
He got up and turned on his very bracelet.
"Am right outside but I couldn't get in." he texted.
Immediately, Ruff stepped out of the wall with a silly grin when he saw Alex clutch his forehead.

"I forgot to tell you. You can't get in without a phaser." he laughed.
" Hey, it's not funny. " Alex looked away in embarrassment.
Ruff held Alex's hand the two walked into the wall like it wasn't there in the first place.
" Uhh. Uncle, someone has been watching me... "Alex said as he walked with his uncle through the wide corridors.
Ruff halted and looked at Alex with a frown.
" And a few minutes ago, a voice said that it's coming for me. It calls itself Pulse. " Alex continued.
" Oh no!" Ruff said in a worried tone.
"What? Is there anything wrong?"
"Yes..." Ruff held both Alex's shoulders and looked into his eyes; "Very very wrong."
Ruff hurried to the control room where he found Tammie.
Tammie turned around to see who had just entered; "Ruff. What's the matter?" she asked when she saw the serious expression on his face."
Ruff pinched the skin between his brows and sighed;" Pulse. Pulse has been in contact with Alex. "
" What the heck!" Tammie asked in a distressed tone.
Alex stepped into the room and felt the tense atmosphere;" Who's the pulse? "he asked confused.
" Big trouble," replied Alvin behind Alex. He had stepped into the room after Alex.
" Did pulse say anything else?" Alvin asked.
" Not that I remember. She has been sending me texts too. "
" Can I see? "
" Yeah. "Alex took off his bracelet and handed it to Alvin.
Alvin quickly took it and walked took it and walked to a set of four curved screens connected.
He plugged the bracelet into a USB.
He tapped on the keyboard and all the screens lit up.
A map showed on the screen.
"That's not right. That's a map of Canada. And we know pulse is in New York." Tammie said folding her arms over her chest.
"He must be using a VPN. It'll take me some time to decode his IP address."Alvin said still focused on the screens.
" Got it. The subway. " Alvin said with a smirk.
" Alright then, we'll head there tomorrow morning. "Ruff said walking closer to Alvin.
Alex's face lit up for a moment until he realized that he had exams the next day.
" Okay so... Why did you call me here. "asked Alex.
" Oh, I forgot...Alvin. "Ruff faced Alvin, "The mutinarator."
Alvin opened a drawer and picked out a silver gun with a needle for a muzzle. The lighting blue liquid at the top middle of the gun could be seen through the translucent glass.

Art of Mortality
New Synopsis after chapter 56: Long long ago, there was a mortal who despised the gods and envied the immortals. Why do the mortals have to die when the gods wish them to? Why do worlds have to perish when the gods say so? Why do only immortals get to live forever, why not mortals like him? As his family, friends, and his loved one died, he lamented. He wailed, he cried. He cursed the immortals, blasphemed the gods, spat at the heavens. But he was just a mere mortal. His curses were pointless, his blasphemous words were useless, and his spits only returned back to fall on his face. At last, he thought, enough was enough, he would definitely do something about it. He decided that it was time for the multiverse to know what a mortal can do. He was the first mortal to cultivate. Eventually, after a long struggle, he killed the Immortals, enslaved the Gods, and shattered the heavens. He reshaped the multiverse and rewrote his fate. In the end, he reincarnated as he decided upon a grand scheme, a scheme to rule 'All and Always'. He came up with the concept of what is known today as 'Paragon'. And with this, all of reality, 'All and Always', was finally reforming, according to a Mortal's Wish. Synopsis (Old): In the vast and complex multiverse, what can a mortal accomplish? In the grand scheme of things, what can a mortal change? In truth, what is a mortal, and what is mortality? Being mortal is being ordinary, the same as being trash, or so says The World.
