Verifiqué la luna en la ventana y me di cuenta que se había movido un poco, seguramente haya estado leyendo el diario treinta minutos. Volví para ocultar el diario debajo de la cama… pero al ver.
—¿Qué haces ahí debajo? —pregunté a la chica que llevaba un cuchillo en su mano, y que justo cuando me levanté había atravesado la cama con el mismo. Justo cuando había pensado que la chica era suertuda… resulta que yo también lo soy.
La joven se alarmó por mi pregunta y se dio la cabeza contra la cama en la cual se estaba ocultando. Luego de esto se recuperó rápidamente y rodó para encontrarse en el lado contrario de la cama. Se paró y me miró fijamente a los ojos… esa mirada. Esta chica no tendría problemas en matarme, no sentiría ninguna pena por hacerlo, su situación seguramente sería una bastante penosa como para que ella pensara así.
—¿Qué quieres conmigo? —pregunté, sobrescribiendo la anterior pregunta con esta, que me parecía más interesante. La chica siguió sin responder, en realidad… parecía como si ni siquiera me estuviera prestando atención. ¿Soy tan poco interesante que ni siquiera se ha dado cuenta de que estoy hablando?
La chica me seguía mirando fijamente. No tenía encima ninguna espada porque no pensé que fuera necesaria, pero llevaba mi túnica. ¿Estaría pensando en robarme mi ropa?, en ese caso matarme para ello es demasiado… rudo.
Me di cuenta que había una habitación que no había explorado en el ala derecha del segundo piso y entonces empecé a rodear a la chica, intentando aproximarme a la salida poco a poco. Ella seguía atenta a mí con su cuchillo mientras yo hacía señas, indicándole “¡No quiero pelear, vengo en son de paz!”, ¡Diabla maldita, aléjate de mí!”.
Es posible que estos signos no hayan logrado pasar mi mensaje correctamente. La chica preparó su cuchillo y se lanzó contra mí a una velocidad bastante moderada cuando la comparo con Lorien… ¿es esto una broma? La evadí fácilmente y di un paso hacia atrás. Se recuperó de vuelta y se balanceó hacia mí otra vez, esta vez no la esquivé, pero agarré su mano derecha y logré desarmarla, de esta forma logré obtener el cuchillo que ella tenía, pero no lo tiré… no aún.
Seguía teniendo el diario en mi mano, solo quería confirmar una cosa. Tomé el cuchillo que estaba en mi mano y lo aproximé al diario… si ella era Rosie, seguramente se sorprendería por esta acción y haría algo.
*slash* El libro fue partido en dos, pero la chica ni siquiera mostró un signo de preocuparse en su cara, en vez de eso ella miraba atentamente a mi mano en búsqueda de algún movimiento ofensivo de mi parte para atacarla.
—Claramente no te atacaré, idiota —dije en voz alta para que ella escuchara. Por un momento pensé que ella no me entendía pero luego de decir esto ella bajo la guardia. ¿Podría ser que se haya calmado? Eso creí… pero… primero verifiqué que hubiera algo que me sirviera para lo que quería hacer.
Solo ella bajo la guardia en ese momento para sorprenderme, yo no. Se lanzó a correr hacia mí en un intento de arrebatarme el cuchillo pero yo ya sabía que es posible que algo como esto pasara. Simplemente estiré mi pierna derecha mientras esquivaba con un paso atrás con la izquierda. La pobre chica cayó con su cara derecho hacia el piso. ¿Qué peor cosa que esto podría sucederle a alguien? Sinceramente quería reírme pero sentí que esto probablemente haría que se enojara incluso más.
Mientras ella estaba cayendo, rápidamente me aproximé a la ventana y quité la cuerda que sostenía las cortinas. Aceleré hacia el cuerpo de la chica que aún se estaba recuperando y le pegué un rodillazo en el trasero para que se cayera de vuelta. Realmente siento mi actitud al hacer esto pero era necesario si quería mantenerla a raya por ahora. Logré atar sus brazos con una cuerda y aunque fue bastante difícil también logré atar sus pies con otra. Un acto de bondage extremo.

—Te ves bastante atractiva así ahora que lo pienso. ¿Cuántos años tienes?, dependiendo de tu respuesta es posible que tome
acciones con resultados bastante amplios —eso dicho, no importa que respondiera no iba a hacer nada extraño. Ya sabía que su edad rondaba los catorce a los dieciséis, era obvio si la veías. No entendía su situación exacta, pero sin duda alguna podría por lo menos asustarla lo suficiente como para que no se acerque de vuelta a mí.
Pasó un minuto entero y yo seguía arrodillado frente a ella esperando su respuesta cuando finalmente abrió la boca para decir algo…
—Ca–tor–ce —un número, era su edad.
Una sonrisa apareció en mi cara. Finalmente logré recibir algo de parte de ella. No dije ninguna palabra y me dirigí a la salida del cuarto, planeaba explorar lo que faltaba de la mansión debido a que la curiosidad me estaba matando. Pasé por el pasillo que antes había pensado que daba bastante miedo y me dirigí a la tercera habitación del ala derecha del segundo piso. Pero…
—¡Guaaah! —por poco me caigo. La tercera habitación se había derrumbado por completo, hasta la puerta todo se había caído abajo. ¿Cómo sucedió esto? No podría derrumbarse en tan poco tiempo, seguramente no habría sido usado en dos o tres años. El hoyo gigantesco que estaba ahí debido al derrumbamiento me dejo ver lo que había debajo, pero debido a que los escombros estaban tan mezclados no pude verificar realmente qué tipo de cuarto era.
Oí un grito inmediatamente luego de salir de la tercera habitación. Planeaba dirigirme al ala izquierda mientras dejaba a la pobre chica sola en la segunda habitación, pero aparentemente el grito provenía de ella. ¿Qué le habrá pasado?, tal vez se haya golpeado con alguno de los muebles mientras intentaba escapar, o puede que haya más de una persona aquí y la esté intentando rap– un momento, eso es bastante malo.
Ante el anterior pensamiento, salí corriendo hacia la segunda habitación y entré en un apuro. Para mi sorpresa, no había ninguna persona que estuviera raptándola y ella seguía atada, lo más sorprendente es que ni siquiera se había intentado mover del lugar en el que estaba… pero estaba llorando. Pensé que esta chica estaría acostumbrada a este tipo de situaciones, tiene un cuchillo y sabía usarlo bastante para su edad, ¿podría ser…?
—¿Te da miedo este cuarto? —le pregunté mientras me aproximaba al lado de ella y me agachaba para poder nivelar mi cabeza de forma que ella la viera. La chica no respondió con su voz, pero asintió levemente con su cabeza, esto era un gran avance, pude averiguar algo de ella que no tenía nada que ver con datos específicos como la edad o el nombre—. Ya veo… ciertamente tiene un aire que asusta bastante —la chica empezó a asentir a todo lo que decía—. La cama rasgada —asintió—. Las cortinas y ventanas rotas—asintió—. Y lo peor de todo es el diario y su última página —asintió con mucha más potencia.
Una sonrisa apareció en mi cara. Una sincera y honesta, una que no había tenido hace tiempo en realidad. Pronto me di cuenta que en realidad me estaba divirtiendo mientras hablaba con esta joven. Ella solo asentía a lo que decía yo o negaba, pero incluso así la conversación estaba siendo bastante divertida. Pronto, el aire de miedo que emanaba el cuarto ya no estaba más allí mientras hablábamos de cosas completamente aleatorias.
¿Por qué es que sonreír de esta forma se había tornado tan difícil para mí? Hay personas en los barrios bajos que también sonríen de esta forma diariamente, pero yo que no soy pobre no lo logro. ¿Qué es lo que está mal conmigo? ¿Va más allá del estatus social? ¿Será mi pasado…?

—Eres… bueno —dijo la chica repentinamente. Me sorprendí ante sus palabras, no me esperaba algo así—. ¿Qué te pasa? —preguntó debido a que estuve preocupándome bastante acerca de mí mismo debido a lo que pensaba. Seguramente ella también se esté empezando a preocupar acerca de mí… y hace poco tiempo estaba intentando asesinarme para robarme. Realmente es una buena chica, no necesita estar así.
—… nada —agarré el cuchillo que le quité y corte las cuerdas con las que la estaba atando—. Tengo que irme, sería lo mejor que tú también te fueras. Toma —agarré un poco de dinero de mi bolsillo que tenía para comprar lo más básico de lo básico. Ya no me importaba mucho ese dinero porque de todas formas yo podía salir de la ciudad a cazar mi propia comida—, te lo regalo, también ten —le devolví el cuchillo.
La chica se quedó parada boqui-abierta ante el monto de dinero que le di. Inmediatamente me miró fijamente a los ojos como si preguntando “¿De verdad?”, asentí con mi cabeza… simplemente, tengo una debilidad contra las chicas que están en malas condiciones como esta. No puedo evitar intentar ayudarlas cuando las veo, hah…
Luego de decirle adiós, me dirigí por la habitación a las escaleras para volver a la casa que me habían dado, pero antes de salir…
—¿Hmm? ¿Sucede algo? —algo me estaba tironeando de la túnica. Era ella, ¿me pregunto qué quiere? No… podría ser… oh dios, si me lo pregunta sin duda alguna tendré que responderle con un sí, no puedo decir que no ante tal belleza que debe ser ayudada por mí. No puedo, no puedo, no puedo.
La chica no hablaba mucho, por lo cual empezó a hacer signos extraños con la mano, pero luego de lograr entenderlos respondí con un sí.
—Claramente volveré. No he explorado toda la mansión, me parece bastante interesante la historia que contiene la misma —respondí y entonces mostré una sonrisa de vuelta, la misma sonrisa de antes. No podía evitar hacerla cuando la veía a ella… ¿sería que ella aliviaba mis penas?
Luego de decir esto, abrí la puerta y salí de la misma hacia fuera, dejando a la chica completamente sola dentro. Le prometí que volvería por lo cual sin duda alguna me encontraría de vuelta con ella luego. El camino hacia casa estuve animado, no podía creer que realmente estuviera pasándome algo tan suertudo… no puedo dejar que nada le pase a ella. No puedo dejar que situaciones del pasado se repitan de vuelta…

Ayer le di el dinero a la chica que había conocido y por lo tanto no podía ir a comprar comida, una verdadera tristeza pero lo tomé como un hecho de que debía de aguantar esto y simplemente conseguir mi propia comida. Para salir de Taira se necesita un permiso especial pero gracias a que pertenezco a las tropas de Lorien no necesité ningún procedimiento súper extraño. ¿No es esto simplemente demasiado bueno? Hah…
Me dirigí por los campos en donde los campesinos trabajaban la tierra. Era una necesidad que trabajaran de esta forma para poder pagar los impuestos. Lo bueno es que mucha gente solía ayudar a estas personas de una u otra forma por lo que no solía pasar algún suceso malo. Eso dicho, casi siempre llegaban por poco a lo pedido por el gobierno, ¿podría mejorar esta situación? Me pregunto. Lo bueno de estas tierras es que casi siempre hace sol, pero no llueve por lo cual se tienen que encargar siempre de que las plantaciones no se sequen y se pudran.
Como sea, tengo que alejarme bastante para llegar a los bosques, mi destino eran los mismos bosques que seguí para llegar a Taira luego de escapar de los bandidos. Por una parte pienso buscarlos y por otra pienso cazar bastantes animales, lo suficiente como para hacer una gran comida, pero…
—No tengo idea de cómo cocinar esto. Simplemente lo cazare y luego veré que hago —dije en voz alta, con la intención de que mis maldiciones me escucharan y que alguna llegara a avisarme de que sabían cocinar y le enseñarían… pero justo como pensé… no hubo respuesta. Después de todo en serio simplemente vendría con un montón de carne para hoy y vería si encontraba a alguna persona lo suficientemente amable como para cocinarlo todo y de esa forma lo compartiría—. Creo que la gente del barrio estaría bastante feliz si hago eso. Heh… es posible que me encuentre con ella también. ¡Bien! A hacerlo.
Llevaba el mismo arco que robe en mi mano, tenía un carcaj lleno de flechas de acero de una gran calidad. Gracias a Lorien es que puedo usar esto. Me acerqué al bosque y entonces empecé a ver las proximidades, cazar pájaros no era conveniente para mí porque eran una presa difícil de atrapar en el aire y daban poco contenido por flecha así que intenté buscar algo más grande. ¿Un ciervo? Eso tal vez podría servirme, empecé a buscar, trazando mi paso con mi pie derecho para no perderme e intentando ver cualquier tipo de pista.
Lo primero que quise encontrar fue el río, si es un ciervo tarde o temprano terminaría yendo al río a tomar agua… ¿no? Todos los ciervos hacen eso. ¡Esto era un plan perfecto! No había ninguna falla, no me podía permitir fallar, después de todo tengo más de doce horas para cazar… aunque preferiría terminar antes de la segunda.
Luego de caminar durante unos dos minutos me topé con lo que buscaba, era un río fluyendo, si lo seguía me terminaría encontrando con un posible lago o una cascada… ya que estaba fluyendo la segunda era la más posible. Eso me sirve, empecé a bajar por las rocas de al lado del río, buscando con mi mirada para encontrar cualquier animal. Decidí buscar ciervos como caza principal pero cualquier cosa me serviría… solo espero no encontrarme con algo terrorífico cerca.
Seguí bajando junto al agua fluyendo pero no logré encontrar nada fuera del río. Ahora queda lo que encuentre dentro del río. Los peces claramente se juntarían en la parte más baja o estarían nadando cerca del punto medio del agua fluyendo, ambos son buenos puntos para cazar pero no tengo ni una caña ni una lanza de caza para poder atraparlos por lo cual deci–un momento. Torné mi mirada a mi carcaj de flechas, las flechas eran de madera pero su punta era de un acero perfecto que podría usarse repetidamente si se trata de penetrar una piel tan delicada como la de un pez.
—Eso es —saqué la flecha de mi carcaj y la aproximé a mi dedo. Una gota de sangre empezó a salir y pude confirmar que no tendría problema alguno con penetrar el cuerpo de un pescado con esto incluso si no hago tanta fuerza. Esto parece que sería prometedor.
Un minuto pasó y no había ningún pescado, pero de eso se trata la pesca en este caso, de la paciencia. Si no puedo esperar entonces no hay forma de que vaya a conseguir un pescado por lo cual decidí sentarme a esperar durante el tiempo que necesitara para finalmente atrapar algún pescado. Uno es suficiente para alimentarme a mí mismo durante un día completo pero deseo hacer más que eso por lo cual debería devotarme a pescar lo más que pueda hoy.
—¿Huh? ¡Hiah! —un grito salió de mi boca y mi mano se dirigió al agua junto a la flecha de acero. El salpicón de agua no me dejo contemplar la verdad detrás de este ataque hasta último momento…—. Heheh… eso es uno. Imagino que si atrapo diez debería de estar bien.
“¡Hah!” “¡Hiah!” “¡Hui!” y más gritos salieron de mi boca mientras atrapaba más pescados y pescados. La espera valió la pena, esto era mucho más rápido que cazar un animal grande aunque el último me daría bastante carne con solo uno.
—Esto es suficiente —metí los pescados que había cazado en la bolsa y me preparé para irme, cuando…—. ¿Hmm?
Salpicones empezaron a salir de la zona en la que recientemente estaba pescando, ¿qué es eso? *SPLASH*
—¡Guaaah! —¡Lo pude contemplar! ¡Ese pescado tiene que ser mío! Era un pescado gigantesco, más grande que mi brazo entero. ¡Eso parece ser cerca de cinco o seis pescados en uno solo, sin duda una gran captura si lo atrapo!—. ¡Ah! Diablos, ¡espera! —pero el pescado se estaba escapando mientras seguía el río fluyendo. Empecé a correr con la bolsa en donde estaban los pescados anteriores tras él, las rocas me estaban dando problemas para correr pero no podría seguir su camino si no lo seguía de esta forma.
Luego de un poco de tiempo conseguí llegar al final del camino. Aunque parecía más posible que fuera una cascada antes que un lago, al final terminó siendo la segunda… el pescado estaba allí dentro.
—¡No hay forma alguna de que no intente atrapar eso! —dejando la bolsa en tierra firme. ¡Ese pescado tiene que acabar en mis manos! ¡Es gigantesco, pero yo puedo!—. ¡No importa, lo atrapare yo mismo!
Me lancé al agua sin las flechas porque sería mucho problema y podría romperse si me sumerjo demasiado hondo por la presión del agua. Era bastante oscuro debajo pero podía aun así ver bastante… habían algunas plantas acuáticas ocultando varias cosas de mi vista, pero no lograban ocultar el pescado porque este era demasiado grande. “Te vi” es lo que pensé cuando finalmente pude localizar al pescado debajo del agua.
Empecé a bucear a alta velocidad hacia él, pero era más rápido… tendría que maniobrar en ese caso. Empecé a nadar diagonalmente para acortar mi distancia con el pescado y me intenté ocultar tras plantas acuáticas para que no me viera.
Finalmente logré acercarme lo suficiente luego de dos minutos…
—¡Hah! —me impulsé para agarrarle pero entonces me di cuenta que me estaba quedando sin aire… fallé el agarre y el pescado me terminó pegando con su cola en la cara—. ¡Gruhughuh! —empecé a nadar hacia arriba debido al dolor—. ¡Te maldigo! Haah… fuu… hahh —empecé a respirar para recuperar mi aire y pronto me metí de lleno de vuelta en el lago.
Intento tras intento empecé a acercarme al pescado pero me seguía pasando lo mismo una y otra vez. Luego de veinte minutos el gran pez finalmente se había cansado, pero mi vitalidad era mucho mayor que la de un simple pescado y terminé por lograr atraparlo.
—¡Te tengo! —grité al salir del agua con el pescado gigantesco en mis manos. Desde que había empezado a cazar no habían pasado ni siquiera dos horas pero había atrapado tanto…
Al salir estaba empapado y tendría la necesidad de secar mis ropas antes de volver a la ciudad. Eso fue una buena pesca…
—Ah, hola —me di cuenta que la chica que había encontrado ayer estaba mirándome, aparentemente me encontró mientras no me di cuenta—. Esto… ¿quieres pescado?
La chica estaba parada con unos ropajes sucios y me miraba fijamente a los ojos, luego miro a la bolsa llena de pescados y al pez gigantesco que tenía en mi mano, finalmente asintió y se dirigió a los barrios bajos de vuelta conmigo, me olvide de secar mi ropa y fui empapado. Fue bastante horrible.
