《King Of All Heavens》Chapter 47: Refining the Denying Destruction Pill

"Child, I've lived for a few hundred years and my intuition has never failed me. I can sense that you are different from the rest. So I shall grant you an opportunity" Ku Feng said as he stared meaningfully at Wang Tian.
Indeed, Ku Feng has lived for a few hundred years by now. Have met different kinds of people. The members of the guild all relied on his intuition as it mostly went right.
Wang Tian also looked at him and analyzed the man in front of him.
'I feel like he is different from all of the other people I've met. I don't know what his motives are but it's different from the rest.' Wang Tian thought to himself. He wasn't the type to repay gratitude with disgrace or sin. If this old man could really assist him, then he would gladly accept it. Of course, he was still wary.
"There is another way for you to become an Alchemist Master. It will be easy if you were really trained by your master in a secluded place. But if you're just here to waste my time and joke around then it will probably be very hard. I suppose you aren't here to do that right?" Ku Feng said.
Wang Tian shook his head and said, "May the heavens smite me If I am."
Ku Feng nodded satisfactorily.
"Okay then i won't beat around the bush. First, you have to show me that you can be able to control your flame spirit skillfully." Ku Feng said.
"Manifest a flame arrow" Ku Feng said.
"Watch"
He raised his palm and a flame arrow manifested in the blink of an eye. The flame arrow shot towards the walls of the room. Leaving a dent in the walls. In reality, manifesting such an arrow was only something that Alchemist Grandmasters could do. Ku Feng intentionally raised the difficulty since he thought highly of the youth. He felt that there was something more to the youth.
Wang Tian nodded and raised his palm nonchalantly. In an instant, a flame arrow also appeared in his palm. Although he intentionally made it a bit smaller since it would arouse suspicion if he could control make a flame arrow the same size as what the old man just did. If he really tried and didn't restrain himself, then he could easily make a flame arrow ten times the size of the flame arrow of the old man. He had the experience and knowledge of an Alchemist King after all. He only needed a wee bit of familiarization and he was game. He threw the flame arrow into the wall and it left a dent before disappearing all together.
He knew that the flame arrow was normally something only Alchemist Grandmasters could do. He speculated that the old man was an Alchemist Grandmaster. As for why he intentionally raised the difficulty, he didn't think much of it. There was a saying that, if you decided to trust then give them a chance. Otherwise dispose. Only fools wouldn't use the things that they chose to trust. Since Wang Tian saw that the old man was different from the rest, he decided to trust him for a bit. So he let it slide.

Ku Feng's eyes shined when he saw this.
"Good good good!" He said good three times. Expressing his amazement.
"You've passed the first test. Now off to the second." Ku Feng said. He flicked his right palm and in an instant, a scroll appeared in his right hand. He handed the scroll to Wang Tian.
"Now, I need you to write down a thousand spirit herbs. From level 1 to level 4. The basic requirement for an alchemist master is that they should be knowledgeable and know at least a thousand spirit herbs" Ku Feng said.
Wang Tian revealed a pained expression on the outside but was secretly rejoicing in the inside. Was the test tailor made for him? What was a measly thousand when his master knew more than a million? Of course, he did not show this on the surface.
Wang Tian simply nodded and started to write down. He calmed himself and searched through his brain. The spirit herbs that he should put inside or write are those that should be within the Yang Continent. Otherwise, the old man simply wouldn't believe that any of it existed and list him off as someone who was joking around.
He started to write down the spirit herbs common in their continent. One by one. Like the Nine Sunflower Herb, Moonlight Twin Herb, Fiery Sun Herb, Poison Fern Herb, Sky High Herb, Triangular Leaf Herb, and many more.
After just half an hour, Wang Tian finally finished writing a thousand spirit herbs. He passed the scroll to Ku Feng so that the old man could inspect it. The old man looked at the scroll and couldn't help but nod satisfactorily. The herbs in the pill contained very rare herbs that only high ranked alchemists like him would know. In fact, he was quit shocked since information about such herbs like the Moonlight Twin Herb and the Fiery Sun Herb were all privy only to high ranked alchemists. Even he only knew of its existence.
'If this brat is telling the truth that he has a master, then what is the rank of that master of his?' Ku Feng mused.
"Alright. You have passed the second test. The only thing left for you to do is refine a pill for me. A Tier 2 pill at least." Ku Feng said as he handed another scroll to Wang Tian. This scroll contained a list of Tier 2 to Tier 3 pills.
"Pick one" Ku Feng said. This was the last part of the exam. In every examination, it always ends with refining. The only way to ascertain the capabilities of an alchemist was to see him in action. Otherwise, even if the alchemist has boundless knowledge, he wouldn't be of much use since he can't refine pills himself.
Wang Tian scanned the scroll and then shook his head.
"Can I refine a pill not based on this scroll?" Wang Tian asked Ku Feng. He didn't want to pick any one of the pills in front of him simply because they were too ordinary. He thought to himself that since this was the last exam, he will succeed with flying colors. That naturally meant refining something that was noteworthy and exceptional.

"Do as you wish. You are given only two hours to refine a pill." Ku Feng said as he left the room. Observing the refining process of a pill was something very disrespectful unless the Alchemist Master permitted it. It was because of the fact that the method of refining the pill would he exposed.
"Wait, you don't have to leave. You can watch" Wang Tian said with a smile. He wanted the old man to witness him refining the pill. Thus, he asked him to do so. If he refined a heaven defying pill and no one witnessed it, wouldn't they accuse him of being a fraud? He needed a witness. Besides, he wasn't that stupid to choose a legendary refining method.
Ku Feng looked at the youth and said, "Are you sure?".
"It would be my pleasure." Wang Tian replied.
"Can you send someone to get me these herbs?" Wang Tian said as he wrote on a scroll and handed it towards the Alchemist Grandmaster.
"Cheeky brat you dare order me around?!" Ku Feng snorted and glared at Wang Tian.
Wang Tian laughed awkwardly.
"It's a good thing that I'm fond of you or else you'll be dead right now!" Ku Feng said as he went outside to send someone to but what was in Wang Tian's list.
"Well, if you can kill me that is..." Wang Tian muttered as he stared at the door.
The pill that he was planning on refining was called Denying Destruction pill, a Tier 2 pill. A pill that could nullify a spell from someone who was a level above the user.
Spells are naturally divided into three rankings. Abyssal, the lowest, Standard, the middle and Supreme, being the highest.
This spell can nullify an Abyssal ranked spell from someone who was a level above the user. Take note that Standard and Supreme spells are very rare. Only those with high status can acquire them. Thus, people naturally use Abyssal ranked spells.
However, if this pill was taken and used on someone with the same level as the user, then it will be able to nullify even a Supreme ranked spell! This was the miraculousness of this pill.
After a short while, the Alchemist Grandmaster returned with a Pill Apprentice who was carrying a bunch of spirit herbs.
The young man who was carrying the herbs looked at Wang Tian in surprise.
'Wait... Is he, is he the one who's going to use these herbs? He can refine pills? But he's too young!' He thought to himself in disbelief. The youth in front of him only looked to be about 17 years old! He was even older than him!
After some thought, he dismissed the idea and thought that it simply wasn't possible.
He concluded that it was just a young lord from a rich household that payed his way into having the Grandmaster teach him how to refine.
Thinking of this, the Alchemist Apprentice looked at Wang Tian in disdain.
Wang Tian noticed this but simply shook his head inwardly and didn't dwell on it. To him, the young man in front of him was only an ant. Too insignificant to even mention. He had no desire to mingle with such a small character.
The Pill Apprentice put down the spirit herbs, cupped his fist, bowed towards Ku Feng and left.
Wang Tian took the herbs and placed them near him. Ku Feng sat cross legged about fifteen meters away from him to avoid distracting the youth.
Wang Tian flipped his palm and in an instant, the Dark Heaven Cauldron appeared in his hand.
Ku Feng's eyebrows raised when he saw this and thought to himself,
'Is that what I think it is?'
His discerning eyes quickly told him that what Wang Tian was holding was a cauldron that was at least Tier 4. Made from an ore that is level 7 or 8 in the universal rankings.
Wang Tian was of course, not aware of the old man's speculation. He adjusted his mindset and prepared to refine. He searched through his brain and found a method called,
"Destroy and Create Technique."
This technique was a very reckless one as it required one to just throw in all the ingredients and have the flame spirit do all the work. This was a technique known by some but disdained by many. Number one, it demands a very high control of the flame and number two, it was reckless. What if the spirit herbs that were thrown into the cauldron were priceless spirit herbs. One of its kind? And the Alchemist used that technique? Wouldn't it be a shame if the spirit herbs went to waste? Furthermore, people in this level of world didn't believe that such a method was feasible. Wang Tian was now gonna prove him wrong.
He placed down the Dark Heaven Cauldron and adjusted his state of mind. What he did next surprised the old man throughly. He just directly threw in the spirit herbs!
Madman! This was the only thing that the old man could think off. His eyes were flashed with disappointment a bit.
'Was my intuition wrong? Was I incorrect?' Ku Feng thought to himself.

Welcome to AlmaVé. First thing you have to know is that it's a tragedy. Nope, not talking about my book yet. It's a tragedy that you're reading this instead of clicking on chapter 1. I did fail speech introductions after all. My story? Right that's what you're here for. My bad, try this: Lilia Hammond is reborn (cliché, but we all know we enjoy it when it's done for a purpose) as Syndra Sanmey. She was a graphic designer who hadn't caught her break yet. She was paralyzed for months before she was offered the opportunity to join a program that would allow her to-NOPE! not virtual reality. The doctors killed her and dumped her body. Tough. In her new world, Lilia has to fight herself to find out who she truly is. With the possibility to cast magic and a second chance at life, Lilia thinks she can really make something for herself. Her goal? Become the greatest artist the world had ever seen. The rub? World is a bit darker than anything she saw on earth. Thankfully, Lilia is getting quite familiar with the darkness inside her and her magic might just be the thing to save the-hey! wait it's not that kind of book. No saving the world. No hero syndrome. Just magic and blood and a bit of crafting. Yup. Fighting. Romance? Eh? What's that? The first arc is Lilia's shift from Earth to creating backstories for the three major characters. It's not funny and light. It's often dark and funny. Ah, I really should have gone through a punk-rock phase. Or goth. Would I look good with black hair? Hmm.. There are three MCs and they are Jackson, Daryl, and Lilia/Syndra. Daryl is currently kidnapped and Jackson just awakened his magic. I don't want to spoil (much) but soon things will be very fun to write. Hope to see you there! Leave a comment even if you're just stopping by so I can say hey! Chapters to be published twice weekly. 8 78Ancient Blood - book 1 The fall of the Phoenix
New version https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/46370/ancient-blood-volume-one-fall-of-the-phoenix Modern Europe. It's been a year since the news of the ancient clans do exist got published. Those clans which consists of fairytale creatures such as dragons, phoenixes and many more have been living among the human society all along. Due to genetic research it is clear that those powers are the result of certain mutations in the human DNA. A hardworking veterinary student named Rhiannon is sure to be interested in those aliens that seem to stem from her favorite books. But she is certainly less interested in becoming a full-fledged member of those clans. Same goes for Mark who's a police officer recently promoted to the capital crimes department. Being the youngest to reach that goal and being partners with his stepmother and mentor he is happy. Everything is fine. If it wasn't for his curiosity which gets him involved with the woman of his dreams... And the ancient clans that seem to be the culprit of the several crimes that he is forbidden to solve. But this is the mere beginning. There will be blood, strategy and politics as well as love and friendship. To tell you more is only going to spoil the surprise. This fiction belongs to the same universe as tavern's edge. 😊 This is my first time ever publishing anything and as you might see english isn't my native language. I am translating an ongoing story I am writing in German. Have fun I hope you will like it. In case you are interested I post this story on scribble hub, too. I really don't steal from myself, though 😂
8 86My Failed Reincarnation as a Demon’s Prisoner
When Kayn opened his eyes in the empty void, he was met with a familiar voice and the knowledge that he was neither dead nor alive and about to be reincarnated. What he didn't expect was to reappear in the world of the living and immediately get captured by a clan of demons, now living as their prisoner. After a lucky encounter, Kayn stumbles upon a room that could possibly give him what he needs to free himself from their captivity. But, as he soon finds out, escaping from the demon queen herself isn't the easiest of tasks... **DISCLAIMER**This story attempts to be quite comedic (I don't know if I'm doing a great job at it) and will be more comedy heavy at the start than later on. As the situations Kayn finds himself in become more grave, the story will become serious and less comedy oriented. There will always be comedy throughout, but at some point I do plan on shifting the focus. I'd love to hear everyones opinion on whether the comedy should be kept in full, or dialed back a little so the plot can take centre stage more often. Happy reading!
