《King Of All Heavens》Chapter 38: Telling the truth

"Uh he left a while ago with the other disciples. I think he got swarmed by the other disciples so maybe that's why he didn't have the time to tell you." Old First said.
Wang Tian nodded and all of them left.
...
Inside a big house made up of rich materials, a young man sitting cross legged could be seen cultivating. This figure has long black hair, light skin tone, a very handsome face and a well-shaped body. This young man is called Du Qinji about the age of 19.
"Senior Du! I have important news for you!" a disciple came rushing in while shouting. The disciple looked to be about 16 years old. A year less than Wang Tian.
Du Qinji opened his eyes and revealed the bluish hue inside. They were like the color of the ocean. So beautiful and peaceful yet very powerful when raging. "What is it that's so important for you to come rushing in here while I'm cultivating?" Du Qinji said icily and arrogantly.
"Pardon me for my rudeness. But it is about your grandfather!" the disciple said and then knelt on the ground.
"Yes? What about him?" Du Qinji said. He had a bad feeling about this. "He's de-dead senior. Your grandather is dead." That disciple stutteringly said. The disciple was afraid that Du Qinji wouldn't be able to take it thus venting all the rage and frustration onto him. He was just an average disciple. Following a bigger faction to survive. While he joined the faction under the Du folks, he was rather ill treated. That's why he was always cautious. He would never have dared to willingly deliver this piece of news to his superiors since he knew what would happen to him. But this time, he had no other choice. His fellow faction members were more cowardly than him. That's why he was forced to be the one to deliver the news to Du Qinji.
Du Qinji's face went pale when he heard what the disciple said. "Wh-what?! Impossible! He can't be dead! He's one of the most high status elders in the whole sect! Who would dare kill him!?" He cried out, clearly disagreeing to what the disciple said. He stood up and then faced the disciple. "This isn't a good joke. Your head will be sent flying if you can't explain yourself!" with an icy gaze, Du Qinji said. "Senior Du! I'm not joking! He's really dead!" the disciple said with fear written all over his face.
Du Qinji looked at the disciple and tried to discern whether or not he was lying. He stared carefully at the disciple and found out that the latter really wasn't joking. He wasn't a completely unreasonable person so he stopped threatening the disciple and said angrily, "but that's impossible... Who-who was the one who killed him??!".
The disciple looked at Du Qinji at a loss. 'Now that the Old Du is dead, clearly my life as a member of the Du Faction won't be easy...' the disciple thought to himself.
"I don't know but my sources told me that the day your grandfather died, all of the other members of the council were present along with the fourth mountain's peak master and a person named Wang Tian. Moreover, it wasn't just your grandfather who died! Two other members died as well!" the disciple said with a strange tone.

"What?! Something like that happened!?" Du Qinji cried out in alarm.
The disciple nodded.
'If the other members of the council were present, then how could he have died? The peak master of the fourth mountain couldn't have possibly attacked him whilst killing two others. If I remember correctly, he's also just a Zifu realm expert. The only unknown factor here is that person named Wang Tian!' Du Qinji thought to himself. He was an intelligent person. He knew how to differentiate between ally and foe. He also knew about the hostility between the two groups of the council but since Lady Seventh was always present, they did not dare to break into open hostility. Thus suspecting them of being the killers were out of the question.
"Leave" Du Qinji said to the disciple. The disciple cupped his fists, bowed and then left. The disciple walked out of the house and then cursed at Du Qinji silently for being too arrogant. 'It might not be good news to the faction since your grandfather has died. But let's see if you'll still be arrogant now that he's dead. Worst comes to worst, I'll have to move to another faction and restart.'
Du Qinji's eyebrows furrowed. 'Should I go and ask the other members of the council?' He thought to himself but then he shook his head. 'I don't think they'll tell me the truth. Moreover, my grandfather is dead. Who knows how they'll deal with me?'
After a moment, his eyes brightened a she gained an idea. 'I bet that Wang Tian person will be present in the competition since he's clearly a disciple from the fourth peak. All I've gotta do is kill him then to avenge my grandfather. Maybe even ask him what happened when he's at my mercy.' He thought to himself as he snickered evilly.
...
"Senior, when will this stop?" Wang Tian said as he looked at Lady Seventh. "Just seven hundred more lashings." Shu Mingzhu said with a smile. Normally she wouldn't do the punishment herself but since this incident would be a stain to their reputation, she decided to punish him himself.
"Well you better hurry it up! I gotta cultivate!" Wang Tian said. At first, Lady Seventh was using only a bit of her strength as she didn't want to break any of Wang Tian's bones. But after tens and tens of lashings, she noticed that there wasn't any significant changes on Wang Tian's back except for his white skin growing a bit red. She was shocked at the revelation. She asked Wang Tian why his back wasn't receiving even a bit of damage. Wang Tian replied with the excuse of his physique being much more powerful than the average. Shu Mingzhu was suspicious but she had to believe it nonetheless since it was the only possible explanation.
However she soon grew horrified by what was happening after a hundred lashings were done! It was the same as before! Shu Mingzhu was sweating. Thus, she removed the veil on her face and revealed a face that would topple kingdoms. Wang Tian looked at her and felt mesmerized. 'How beautiful!' Wang Tian thought to himself. He stared at her openly. "Senior Shu, were you always this beautiful? Ai, you make my heart thump" he praised her. Shu Mingzhu snorted coldly when she heard this. She then resumed to whipping Wang Tian. Wang Tian grinned and lustful thoughts appeared in his mind. However, contrary to what usually happens, he did not lose control of himself. The seven years of training made him gain control of himself or his 'dark side' totally. Shu Mingzhu saw the grinning rascal, thus she exerted more force. She used more than half of her maximum power. 'Let's see if you can still grin after I'm done with you!' Shu Mingzhu thought to herself. After a few lashings, her face grew more unsightly as the pervert was still smiling! However, the clothing on his back was now torn. Revealing his robust back. "You ruined my clothing. Ah, geez let me fix this first." Wang Tian said and then tore the upper part of his clothing. He forgot that his right hand was something that was supposed to be his from other people. Shu Mingzhu looked at Wang Tian's right arm with interest. She felt her interest piqued when she looked at Wang Tian's right arm. However, she also felt a tinge of mysteriousness and fear as she gazed into the black and scaly arm of the perv. "Hey, what is this? Why is your right arm black and has scales?" She asked. 'Oh shit!' Wang Tian thought to himself. 'I completely forgot that I have things I need to hide!' Wang Tian continued.

"Ah, it's a part of my technique. You see, even now I'm training with that technique." Wang Tian cheekily answered. He hoped that his answer would fool Shu Mingzhu. He soon realized that his answer didn't work when he felt a slight tickle in his back. "Brat! Don't lie to me! Do you take me for a fool? The feeling this arm of yours give me is different from the feeling that that technique of yours give." Shu Mingzhu said and then punched Wang Tian in the gut. Pretending to be hurt, he arched his body a bit and then cried out in pain. "That hurt!" Wang Tian said.
"Stop acting or I'll beat you up even more!" Shu Mingzhu said clearly angry. This brat dares to try tricks with me! Who does he think I am? I'm the head of the Council of Judges! I cannot allow myself to be fooled my a pervert!
Wang Tian stood up straight when he heard this. 'I'll tell her something but I'll mix it with half truths.' Wang Tian thought to himself.
Wang Tian faced Shu Mingzhu and looked at her beautiful shining eyes seriously.
"My arm isn't a human arm. It's a treasure that I discovered when I disappeared seven years ago. I lost my right arm four years ago when I was fighting a gigantic bear." Wang Tian said.
Shu Mingzhu heard this and then she felt calmed. Treasure? Is there really such a thing? She looked at Wang Tian skeptically.
"Then what about your body huh? Why don't you take damage? I lashed you for more than half the punishment but there still isn't even a single bruise in your back. How can you lie your way out of this huh?" Shu Mingzhu said seriously.
Wang Tian looked at her and uttered to himself, "Adorable.". Shu Mingzhu heard this and then her cheeks turned red. Wang Tian's heart raced. He laughed and said, "I'm invincible my queen. I can't die. I don't sustain any damage."
Shu Mingzhu heard this but she didn't pay it any attention since she was busy covering her red cheeks. "Who's your queen!? I'm much older than you you brat!" Shu Mingzhu said.
Wang Tian laughed again and thought to himself, 'She's really beautiful. She's not even inferior to Aunt nor to Lady Second in terms of beauty.'
"Well, how old are you?" Wang Tian asked with a smile.
"I'm 26 years old you pervert! Don't you know that It's rude to ask a lady her age?" Shu Mingzhu said angrily. She didn't know why but she couldn't maintain her aloof and cold performance in the presence of this Young man.
"You're only twenty six?" Wang Tian said in shock. Based on the knowledge that he inherited from his Master, a person who became a Zifu realm expert at a young age is bound to reach new heights. Being a Zifu realm expert at 26 isn't that bad! It could even be considered good since it means that she broke through Zifu realm at an age below 26! That's quite a feat in itself. While it couldn't compare to those cultivators who came from clans who had their own planets, it was close. So you can imagine Wang Tian's shock discovering someone as talented as her in this planet.
"26 huh? That's not too bad! Haha you're my girl from now on!" Wang Tian shamelessly said.
Shu Mingzhu heard this and her face became even more red. She sent a punch flying towards Wang Tian's chest. After the punch landed, she felt that she has punched a wall. What was more unbelievable was that Wang Tian didn't even flinch!
'I'm a Zifu realm expert who has Six Crystals! How can this brat take my punch!?' Shu Mingzhu thought to herself as she found it to be completely unbelievable.
"My Queen, do use a bit more power. It tickles" Wang Tian said with a smile.
Shu Mingzhu punched him again and again and again because of anger.
After Shu Mingzhu vented herself, Wang Tian laughed heartily. "I told you didn't I? I'm invincible." he said.
"Hmp! Just continue lying!" Shu Mingzhu said.
Wang Tian smiled and then he grabbed her hand and then pushed her body closer to him. "Do you want me to force you to believe me?"

Mar will find that fate had something more than a life confined to the library planned for him after all. Authors Notes: I consider this to be a comming-of-age Sword and Sorcery story based mostly on the style of classic western fantasies. So if that's your thing then I encourage you to take a peek. Something I want to mention though is that the main character starts of pretty wimpy, and that might not be your thing. That being said, if you stick with him he's got a long way to grow. Also, while this version of the story is meant to be fully readable, more dicerning readers may want to wait until I move out of rough draft phase. There may be some inconsistancies with character and plot while I am still in the rough draft phase. I'm sorry for this, but this is my first web novel and from what I've read the best way to get a good novel out is to write write write, and then edit ruthlessly after you're finished with the book, so that's the plan I'm going to follow. Again, this is a rough draft. Everything you are reading is subject to change, including the name, title, and cover photo. This may no longer be the case once I've decided I know where this fiction is going and I have a reasonable understanding of the characters and their behavior. You're reading what comes off my keyboard as it's made, with very limited editing. There will be mistakes in the text. I do a quick spell check to take out the worst of the errors, but there will be some I miss. You can point them out in the comments if they are particularly confusing or glaring and I will try to fix them, however I am not overly concerned about minor errors as this is not the final draft by any means.

Join him on his adventures as he must deal with menus, monsters, and mysteries in this litrpg fantasy. Now, out of his depth, damn near out of his mind, he must learn to survive in a game-like reality with no reloads, checkpoints, or save scumming. He does, however, have a drunk snake. Thank you for reading my first story, hopefully, the first of many to come. This will be my main story and is meant to help me practice and hone my skills as I slowly produce more complex ideas. It's a litrpg in which I want to only lightly focus on the mechanics as I don’t want to pad out the word count with math and number tables and while I want to add a few of my own twists here and there, overall I’m going to keep this story close to generic as possible so that I don't let my inexperience lead me into a corner. Thanks again to all willing to leave a review or some constructive criticism, without you I'd never improve. Unfortunately, Cover art is by me.

Moonblood
Five moons rise over Evanir, each in her own cycle, and each moon is also a god, one of five sisters. Many gods create spirit attendants and companions, brought forth fully-formed. Long ago, the moons worked together to create a lineage that are, instead, humans transformed by the mingling of blood. They intended them to be long-lived and to draw their strength directly from the light of the moon who chose each individual. The five sisters had different goals in mind – one wanted it to be a blessing for scholars and artists, to give them more time and fewer physical distractions; another wanted them to have an animal form, different for each, to keep them more in tune with nature so they could serve as guardians of the wilderness. There are drawbacks to their children having human lives and personalities before being chosen: not all share the goals of their divine mothers, and some choose to put their gifts to darker uses. Those carrying the blood of one woman, fleeing the corruption in search of a quiet life, take a different path. -=-=-=-=- Moonblood isn't so much a novel as a series of adventures of varying length. They involve a core group of people, which does grow over time. They take place in a fairly low-magic world, but despite that, our core cast are directly connected to the moons and have various abilities, including limited shapeshifting to a single individual animal form. As with all my work, unless gender, orientation, or other aspects of sexuality are explicitly stated, I suggest not making assumptions. Probably most significant, I think, is a major trans character who appears about 80K words in - no spoilers, just a note for those who care about that one way or the other.
