1.07 Underground Arena
Doing some shadow boxing, Sura felt elated his strength has increased, but knowing that every good things comes with their resultant problem, so he doesn’t know if it was good or not.
My senses has increased a lot too, I can hear better, even the stench coming out of my body is enough to make me puke.
Looking at his stomach. Seems like my metabolism has increased multiple times, I feel hungry already.
Seeing his muscles ripple with strength, Sura’s first thought was to tell Brohimir about it.
Don’t be stupid! This is not something to publicize about.
Forgetting about his previous thought and feeling famished, Sura took up his card and started moving towards door.
*Crack
Sura’s footsteps came to a halt, I remember not leaving anything down here. He looked down, and lifted his leg only to find a broken crystal chip with a needle connected to it, some dried blood was still smeared on the needle.
Don’t tell me..! Hunching down and picking up the broken chip, Sura wanted to spit at the sky. “Now I know why I couldn’t call hospital for help…. This thing was thrown out even before I got a chance to call.”
Though the neural link only cost 5k credits while removing the Sora AI, but that 5K credits can be used as his fees for the academy.
“Maybe.. I can salvage some of it.” While sighing, Sura picked up the broken neural link and placed it on the table, he was having regrets injecting that drug, the neural link he got was his hard work of offending someone rich and then getting attacked by him, and then being gifted money by his attacker’s father.
“Even though I didn’t mean it… but I do get that money after going through hell.” Even though his joke was bad, Sura still laughed at his fate. The time he had been with this neural link was only 3 days.
Sighing for the last time, Sura got out of the house and on to the streets. His stomach made gurgle sound, signifying it was hungry again. But instead of going to the usual place to eat, he paid some money and get on the city rail, his stop was a part of city infamous for a large amount of crime and lynching cases. It was the best place for people who wanted to lay low, though the quality of the goods were inferior compared to the normal markets, but it was a lot cheaper too.
With enough money people can even buy 2nd hand artifacts and put a hit on a person, this was the underground market. Though the more heinous crime can still be not found here, even underground fights and auctions were done here. This was also called the poor people market
I may find some of that thing here.
Money was a problem for him again, and he wasting 5k credits was a huge blow to him too. He needed to save money and seeing how his metabolism has increased, he needed better supplement to make up for his strong stomach.
Sura’s eyes fell on various items on the sale, there were all sort of artifacts, and some of them were not even available to normal public, like the flying swords and guns.

Everywhere he went he can find girls with broken dreams standing while giving lustful and sly looks to the crowd as if to display their goods and sell their body for money.
Sura ignoring the invite of the girls standing on the road, he went to a place with a lots of people coagulating around, reaching the area, he can hear the crowds shouting like maniac from the building and even grunts curses in the air.
Underground fighting ring, they sure have a lot of public supporting them.
Sura slowly moved around the building before reaching a small stall, with lots of canned filled racks..
“50 canned Samsora dried meat.”
The old man didn’t question anything, he just provided Sura with Cans and Sura taking out a plastic bag from his pocket, placed all the meat in the bag.
Samsora dried meat was popular poor person food, no one knew which animal does the meat belonged too, all the people knew that one Can of Samsora meat can fill the stomach of a family for 4. Before eating, people first need to soak the meat in water and see it expanding in size before eating it. One Can of meat only weighted 500grams but after soaking in water, its size increases to the weight of 2kg. So taking 50 cans did not cause him any problem.
Putting the cans at his back, Sura started walking back out of the market. Sura had what he wanted, now he need to get out of this dirty place.
I need to go to Old Han’s place to look for work, I am low on credits now, and purchasing so much Samsora was so that I can keep up with my new found metabolism had already dwindled my purse.
Looking at his card, Sura sighed. He was sighing a lot lately.
As he was going back, he came close to the arena again.
“Purple snake poison.. Just one drop and it will make your stand for the whole night.”
“Level 2 coolant…. Keep your room cool forever.”
“Looking for fighters… primary stage fight, win to get 1000credits, loose and get 100 credits… anyone with enough balls and strength can join the arena.”
Sura “---“
No way… Helius you are not doing this….! You can earn enough with helping uncle Han.
In Sura’s heart, desire for money was starting to burn. He was stronger than before, and he was free for the next 3 weeks, might as well try it.
And anyway’s if I won I get 1000credits, and losing will also give me money.
His legs were still not moving in the arena’s direction.
“Win 3 fights straight and get a total of 5 thousands credits.”
Sura instantaneously moved towards the arena, and reaching a recruiter.
“I want to fight!”
“All the injuries sustained during the fight will not be the association’s problem.. do you still want to fight?” The recruiter was a man in 40’s seeing the young face of Sura, he was surprised at first, but knowing the state of this place, even if he was just coming to get consolation money from the fight, it was not unusual.
“Yes.. I want!”
“Looking at your age, you probably want to join the primary fight.. it will be 50 credits to take part in it… lose and as consolation you get 100 credits and win you can get 1000 credits.”

“I know!”
Sura gave him the 50credit participation price and then taking his no and filling out the form entered the building.
It’s good they don’t ask anything besides name and age… it probably makes it easier for some people to participate.
Reaching the room and smelling the acidic air, Sura brows wrinkled, everywhere he looked there were people doing physical exercise.
There were even people of hunter realm along with these people, probably high rank fighters.
Sura waited for some time, he had already stored the meat in locker, and was free of any burden.
Soon a call for a name came, and a man sitting beside him stood up and went to the arena filled with cheers of crowd.
When will my name come?
Sura would lie if he said he wasn’t intimated by the atmosphere of this place, and seeing the bulging muscles of the people not much older than him, he gulped down some saliva.
Ah! This is probably the stupidest thing I have ever done…. Except for the time punching those guys on the dick.
Soon his name came. “Shameless Sutra your fight’s next.”
This was the name he gave to the recruiter, he thought it was an awesome name.
Sura got up and reached the gateway to the arena. He can hear the cheers of people each time a cry for pain comes. By his side a man with a broken arm was taken by a stretcher, his eyes were closed in pain.
A man gestured him to go in, and as he entered the arena, he was surrounding by the sound of people shouting at the stage.
This is definitely a bad idea.
Reaching the stage, people started to laugh at him.
“Look what the cat dragged in….”
“This one looks weak… my bet on Jeremy”
“And what is up with his name, Shameless Sutra?”
“That’s the worst nickname I have ever heard.”
Shut up you… I used my brain to the outmost to think up this name.
After Sura got on the stage, another man reached the stage, he looked to be older than Sura by 10 years.
“Kid.. I don’t want to brag, but looks like this is your first match and I am not merciful enough to let you go once you step on this arena.”
Sura could only nod in understanding. Laugh all youwant, wait till I crush your crotch and you all will understand why my name is Shameless.
“Attacking the eyes, neck and crotch of opponent is not allowed… now begin.”
Sura.”---“
I may have made a big mistake…
As soon as the fight began, the man named Jeremy closed in just 1 step, before punching at his stomach.
Sura didn’t waste any time too, seeing Jeremy close distance instantly, he took a step back, before throwing a punch at his opponent’s neck.
Stop you stupid.!
Knowing what he was doing, Sura gave his punch a stop and before he knew it, he felt a painful sensation in his stomach.
Ignore the pain…. Remember the fight!
Sura got pushed back after a single punch, suggesting that his body was lighter than before.
“Sorry kid.. But I need money.!”
Before Sura can attack, He was hit in the chest by a roundhouse kick which made him fall on the arena floor.
“This Sutra will not even last one round.”
Sura thought that if he can fight 8 people altogether, than he can deal with a professional fighter from underground, but he never in his dream knew that he will be pushed back again and again.
Remember.
Sura was hit from all side without getting a chance to fight back, but for some reason, his stamina was not decreasing in the least, instead he was feeling a very good sensation.
Remember… the dream.
“Why did this kid even get in this fight… getting the consolation is not enough to get this much beating.”
The crowd were getting crazy with each hit Jeremy landed on Sura, their eyes were saying that their money was well spent.
Sura was trying to remember the feeling that he had while watching the last dream, in which he killed multiple people with various tools and weapons.
Soon his eyes went blank, and for the first time, he shoot out a punch at Jeremy’s face.
*Boom.
Jeremy being a seasoned fighter, easily intercepted the attack, as he was going to continue with his fight again, his legs were hit by a hammer and he fell down on the ground.
Sura jumped on his body, before head butting him and making Jeremy lose consciousness.
Lifting the head and seeing the blood drip down from his head, the people went silent.
3 seconds ago, Sura was the one getting hit, but now Jeremy laid on the arena floor unconsciousness.
“The winner is Shameless Sutra.”
The crowd went wild after the announcement. They put their hands in the air and shouted his name.
“Did you see.. in just 3 hits, he took out Jeremy..”
“I don’t know if this guy got lucky or what… but he did won the fight.”
The referee looked at Sura and questioned him. “Are you able to continue..”
Sura was breathing heavily, but nodded at the question.
“Next fight.. Shameless Sura versus Lotson.”
Before Sura can get a chance to rest, another man entered the arena.
He looked much mightier and stronger than Lotson.
You gotta be kidding me.
Sorry didn’t know, but all the men fighting here were trained in martial art, he didn’t even know the M of martial arts and if he won the first fight, the next fight was much harder as the arena masters didn’t want to give extra money to their fighters.
Soon the fight began, and as common sense suggested, Sura couldn’t handle this fight, but something odd happened. In front of all the public, Lotson laid on the ground with a hand print on his face.
The people were thinking that they might see a massacre and Sura’s first fight might be just a fluke, but seeing him one hit KO the man named Lotson.
“This..!”
The whole crowd was dumbstruck.

Macabre Mim
*Note: This story is on hiatus. I intend to pick it up again, but the mood of my life has shifted for the time being and I'm going to be working on a side project for a bit.* What would you give to live the life of your dreams? What kind of deal would you make? And when you were there, forced to stare your dreams in the eye and live them every day, how long would it be... before they broke you? Author's note: This is my first excursion outside the realm of villain fan fiction and I welcome feedback. The thing I've loved most about RRL so far is the potential for writing to be an interactive experience with excited readers. That said, also, the primary genre this is intended for is the blossoming realm of LitRPG. Namely, a slice of life tale in the manner of Grimgar or Re:Zero. So, likewise, I don't expect there will ever be a clear beginning-middle-and-end type of pattern to this story. It will likewise always be a bit more of a reactionary, exploratory novel into realms unknown - much like the 1800 travel-novel theme used by Jules Verne. Or, at least, that is my ambition.
