"I told you how long ago when times were dark we came together to plant this here tree."

"I have decided that it has been alone for far to long. It need something to keep it company. Lets plant another tree here to celebrate the day that we first met. The day were I changed your lives and you changed mine."

"Lets put it into the world and write it on stone so that all who come after may see it and try to better themselves. Lets do something great for the future generations that might just inspire them."

"When you get old you like doing things like that. Call it a compulsion if you will, but you to will one day want to leave a mark on this world. I am just making sure that the first mark left will be worth remembering for those to come."

"Way back when my generation was all young folk we buried things to dig up later. Timecapsuls we called them. A moment or a year frozen in time in a few objects that would tell us how the year was versus what we remember of it."

"When we graduated high school we buired one such capsul. We wanted to remember what it was like when nothing really mattered but we thought the world was hanging on the edge and our choices would decide if it went over the edge or not."

There were 23 of us. I know that number clearly. 23 young souls that each brought an object. Something that was dear to them and they thought was worthy of having. A boy that I knew brought a knife made with a bone handle. Another brought a comic book that would now be worth a few million dollars in todays world. So on and so forth.

We stood around the hole we had worked together to dig all day. The sun was setting and the sky was diyed in the most beautiful pinks and purples. I went third and placed a deck of cards into the box. One that we had played with on ever lunch for the past 6 years.

I looked up at every one and told them that I had already shuffled the deck. It was just waiting to be played and a game won and lost. I told them that in 50 years if we are all still around that we would dig it up and play that game.

It was not to be and so that thing that we buired still remains in the dirt. As I am the last one left I wll only say to you that if you can find it it is yours. To do with as you please and when you do find that box make sure to play a game of blackjack for me, will you.

But first you will have to find it and that will be no easy task.
