Of all the immortals that still walk the earth in secret and hiding they all share one thing in common other then never dieing. They all fear the oceans. They fear her endless wrath. She latches onto those she takes and never wants to let go, that being said what do you think she does to those that cannot ever die.

She traps them in a cycle of endless sufering so that she can take her due. What is owed to her is far more then any mear pound of flesh ow no. She take time from them. Years or decades, somtimes far, far more. She take it and never gives it back for the high crime of not dieing like they should.

You see any on these immortals would tell you that eventualy you are going to get traped and almost everyone out there thinks of dozens or hundreds of ways out. That does not work for the sea.

No rescue is coming and no hope is waiting for the other shoe to drop. There are mearly those that can survive and those that cant. The Ocean, she kills the mind sense she cannot take the bodie. She strips from immortals that which the value most. The ability to think.

That is why the Ocean is a cruel mistriss, even to beings so old that time was young when they first walked the earth.
