"So now that I have shown you how to make a campfire you need to make your own. Nobody ever remembered anything because they were shown it. You have to do thing to learn them and this is something that you need to learn."
"Be wary because fire only burns in you control when it wishes to, not when you wish it to. If we are not careful we could end up in a forest fire. That is why we will put out our fires or have someone watch it and maintain it."
"Now lets all go fishing and while we are at it I will tell a story real quiet like. Make sure to be quiet so that you don't frighten the fish away."
"Before we hit the hay you need to remind me that we need to set out lines for fishing over night. Now on to the tales. I shall start as I am the oldest."
Silver. A silver platter that stretches out as far as the eyes can see. It shimers and reflects all in this world. If you have ever seen the lake that I am describing you would agree that it is breath taking. That it all but steals your soul from your body.
I first saw it on a trip much like this one. I was meeting up with my childhood friends to celebrate finding our places in the world. Unlike most friends we did not grow apart after school. We stayed in contact with each other the best that we could.
We sat on the bank of the lake that night and watched the stars. We just watched them. That is all we wanted to do, be together and at piece for one day.
While watching those stars we say one shoot across the sky. That is lucky right there so we each made a wish. 'To never grow apart from each other. To always stay in touch.' We feared that we would never see the ones that made our childhood sing with excitment again so we promissed that we would meet there every 3 years. We made this promise because we first met each other at 3 years of age.

It was the friendships that would last a life time. The conections that would shape what we would do from then on out. While some of us would shape the country we would always have each other to lean back on. We would never be trully alone.
That is what we felt at the time and caried with us for our entire lives. I am both saddens me to say and fills my heart with joy to say that we were wrong. I could not bear it if one of the others was the last one left and had to feel that loss. I wish they could all see what the world has become in their absence. How high the wind now blows.
