《An old mans tale!》Running With The Pack!

"When I was born those Giants that shaped the map and cut it to portion were already long gone. They had all faded and the new ones that rose through an age of strife were showing that they had grown tired of war. Then it came up again and the world was thrown into chaos once more."
"The time that I grew up in was one of terror where the thought of annihilation falling from the sky was ordinary. We lived in fear and the worst part was that we knew that if it came there was nothing that could be done about it. That is why my generation worked so hard to ensure that the world would remain. Because we felt the wait of being able to destroy it in a afternoon."
"Children gather round because I am about to tell you what it means to run with the pack and what it means to go solo. I have done both in my life and I much prefer the former to the latter."
Back in my hotrod days we had this tendency to trick out our rides and cruse along the backroads. We would race but it was all about the freedom that was around. We love going fast and enjoying ourselves with the wind in our hair.
One day a girl that I knew ended up getting in a wreck and braking both her arms. Well be pulled her out of the car and took care of her, after all she was one of us. How could we not at least try. She ended up being OK after everthing was said and done but she caried those scars for the rest of her life. What suprised us was that she was never scared after it happened. When asked she only responded that if anything were to go wrong we would make sure she was safe so why should she be worried.

In the 70's I was rock climbing and ended up getting caught out in the rain. Let me tell you that the rain is the last place you want to be when you are climbing up the face of a mountian. The rock becomes slick and evey you ropes become water loged and heavy. You really feal the weight of the climb aftet the rains have come.
I found a crevice where I could hunker down well enough and waited out the water. It rained for hours and the whole time I was getting more and more cold and tired. When it was done I did not try to finish the climb. I repelled down the mountian as much as I could and tried ot make it to the base. One slip up and I would have died.
That is what going alone is.
The needle edge between life and death.
One mistake to tip the scales.

Its not enough for him to be simply stuck in the game, but the game seems to actively have it out for him, as every nearby player seems to want a piece of him. "Montana, come here." He nodded his head toward the door, leaving out of the room. Staying silent as Ms. Carol looked at me, I kissed the back of Josiah's hand before leaving out of the room. As I walked out, Messiah stood there looking at me in disgust while I closed the door. "What are you doing that shit for?" "Huh?" I said since I had nothing else to say, just trying to stall time to get my words together."Why are you stripping, Monty?"Sighing, I decided that I wasn't going to lie like I'd originally planned to do after listening to Chocolate's stupid advice. "Money." I spoke simply and he scoffed as I looked down."Why not just ask Josiah for money instead doing hoe shit?" "First of all, It's not doing hoe shit. I don't have sex with anyone. I just dance. And I don't want to ask him for any money. It's not his job to take care of me.""So stripping..." He trailed off with a laugh."..stripping was the last resort? Instead of putting your pride aside?" Saying nothing, I just looked at him with pleading eyes."Please don't tell him, Messiah." I could already tell by the look on his face that he was going to tell him."I ain't gon' tell him.." Thank God. I thought. "..you are." "What?!" I shrieked. "No. I'm not.""You are." He spoke in a demanding tone."Please. You know how he is." I expressed"And you know how he is too but you made that bed." "Messiah, he's going to kill me." I begged."I know." He shook his head, walking away from me."Better figure it out. You got until the end of the day to tell him or I will." He mumbled before walking back into the room.
