"What is this, why are you fighting now? Is it really that important to you? Do you really need to be right that badly?"

"You should get a third party to determin who is right instead of arguing on it repeatidly. You are friends and I must ask if this is really something that you are willing to let your friendship live or die on?"

"Me and my friends argued all the time about the most inane of things. whether or not bears could catch you running down hill or not and other things just as pointless but we always shook hands when it was over. We always we able to be adults about what we argued about."

"It is something I see to much now days, if the other person does not state your point and praise you for making it then you must be agianst it entirely. You could not see them as right and so you deny what they hold as absolute truth. I remember when I first noticed that people did that, it was in the 60's. It was a glorious time as dark as it was bright, as good as it was evil."

I was a young man just out and about to see the country that I was born in when people took a stand and did great things demanding change to a broken system. Now it effected me far more then you might think as I was raised around that coulture. It was my own and I was tired of not being able to go in and get a sandwich with some of my friends because of something I felt to be stupid.

That is how I would have liked to have spent that time in American History, eating sandwiches with my good friends. Unfortunitly it was not allowed so I took to the streats with those I called my brothers. I walked right along with them and though I was no hero of the movement I was there. I refused to let those I cared about stand alone. I would not let them walk to their fates without me at least wishing them well.

It was a long hard road and I helped to run interferience where I could. I stoped violence where it was possible for me to do so. I did not change the world but I was a part of it. I dared to say that what was happening was wrong.

When it was all said and done I am sad to say that I saw fewer faces then before. Good men died to bring the change that they thought was right. My friends and I decided that very day on that very spot that we would not let our friendships die for anything in the world. We were wrong, time took us one by one.

But we held out till the end.
