Catherine placed her hand on Ace's chest, caressing it and smiled softly.

She couldn't believe that she got married. Not to any other person but to her first love. The one that she cares about.

It seems like a dream but it is not. It was very real.

"Good morning." He whispered when he half opened his eyes. Cautiously she shifted on the bed and stranded his waist, her ass sitting on his naked dick and his fingers automatically digging into the soft flesh of her ass.

"I love being woken up like this, wife." He groaned lowly and squeezed her ass.

" Good morning to you too, husband." She whispered softly. " What are we doing this morning?"

" Firstly, we have to get out of the bed and join mother for breakfast at the dining table before she comes up here herself." He said and Catherine quickly jumped off him, causing Ace to laugh heatedly. "Why did you jump like that?"

Catherine glared at him and made her way towards the adjoined bathroom door, "I just got married, Babe. I can't have her yelling after me because I woke up late." She replied and pushed the door open then walked in. Ace climbed down from the bed and followed her to the bathroom, he saw her turning on the faucet and brushing her mouth with the extra toothbrush, he carefully walked towards her and wrapped one hand around her waist. He grabbed his toothbrush and had her squeeze in some toothpaste on it.

"We only have to stay here for the next five days before returning to school, you just have to put up with her for the time being." He told her.

" I understand babe, seriously I do understand and that is why I'm trying not to piss her off." Said, Catherine." we should hurry up and go downstairs. "

Ace just couldn't believe the kind of woman God will bless him with, she was so understanding, so sweet, the best of the best.

As they brush their teeth in silence, Ace's hand was still wrapped around her tiny waist.

After they have brushed their teeth, they get dressed in casual wear and go downstairs to the dining room after a servant already came to inform them about breakfast.

"Good morning, Mom." Ace said and sat down at the right hand side of Veronica Hampton while Catherine sat beside him.

"Good morning, mother." She greeted her.

Veronica handed over the copy of Forbes newspaper in her hand to the servant standing beside her and waved her hand off then grabbed her cutleries.

"Let's eat." She murmured, totally ignoring their greetings.

Catherine glanced at Ace and he shrugged. Veronica Hampton will always be Veronica Hampton no matter what. A new addition to the family won't change that.

Nothing could change that.

Catherine stared at the golden plate in front of her and her mouth dropped open. Not only from the expensive plate but from the content occupying it.

Chef Bruce walked inside the dining room and bowed.

"This morning I made pork belly, abalone and truffle in eel and black garlic sauce." He stated.

Veronica Hampton nodded, taking that as a queue, Chef Bruce and all the servants nearby left.

Expensive breakfast.

While other people opt for tea and bread or even scrambled eggs with waffles, the Hamptons would rather have a table filled with food, appetizers, a bottle of champagne and fruits.

Veronica curtly cut the abalone inside her plate and picked it up with a fork before placing it inside her mouth.

What a class.

As they all eat silently, Veronica decides to break the silence.

"Catherine," she called and Catherine gazed up at her. "What course are you studying at Oxford?"

"I study to be a neurosurgeon, Mother. I tailor my studies to include advanced classes in medical diagnostics, clinical research, surgical practice and disease management." She responded calmly.

" You do know that being a neurosurgeon is not easy, you have to wait for so many years before you can practice medicine," Veronica Hampton pointed out but before Catherine could speak, Ace came to her defense.

"It doesn't matter how long it takes, money is not the problem as long as she still has her passion intact." He said and winked at her.

" A career that takes over a decade before you can practice it is not worth it. After all, how much will you be making when you finally get your medicine license? Even my employees will be making more. You are now a Hampton, Catherine, behave like one, speak like one, act like one and think like one. You can still change your course to that of a surgeon, whatever you want but not a neurosurgeon."

Catherine was stunned by her mother in law's words.

She has been working and studying hard for years just to be a neurosurgeon and this woman doesn't even consider the amount of work she must have put into it.

"Catherine will be a neurosurgeon if that's what she wants," Ace butted in and took her hand in his. " My wife is academically smart, she can do it. Let it go, Mom."

Get you a husband who would defend you like Ace does Catherine.

Veronica Hampton didn't say anymore words, she sipped on her wine and took a small bite of the strawberry shortcake before standing up from her chair.

"Come and see me at the office later, Ace." She said before walking out.

Catherine dropped her cutleries on her plate and sighed.

"You shouldn't let what she said get to you, she is always like that." Ace told her and smiled. " I believe in you."

After breakfast they returned to their room and took a shower together then got ready to visit Catherine's Mom. Ever since they left the reception ceremony the previous day, they haven't seen each other and as a respectful son in-law Ace wanted to visit her with a carton of red wine.

"You look beautiful in that dress." He told Catherine, gently tugging at the hem of the dress that barely reached her knees. "I want to rip it off you but we have to go now."

Catherine giggled loudly and nodded her head.
