"What was that all about, Mother? why is Veronica Hampton here?" I questioned immediately we walked inside her office.

I was confused.

There was no way that Veronica Hampton will be here in London, in my company just for the sake of it.

Now she's saying that she wants to buy our company and then what? And then she will be there new owner and then we will be left with nothing that is never going to happen.

"Mrs Hampton came with an offer to help us settle the court case with the bank, she wanted to buy a share of the company and then we can pay the bank back and be free from the court case and that way we can have a higher hand in the court case with Alex." Mom explained, she sat down on the couch and crossed her legs.

"What was your response? You do know that this woman doesn't like us, she doesn't have our best interest at heart. do I have to remind you that her husband died because of a car accident that also took father's life? she still held that hatred for us she will never want to help us from the goodness of her heart, there is something you are not telling me Mom, I want to know..... When I got to my apartment that day it was 8pm. I've got some missed calls from Anitra and even Talia but I wasn't in the mood to talk so I refused to take them.

I opened my fridge and brought out a can of soda and the snacks I could find.

Yes. I was in the mood for junk food tonight.

I want buy inside the living room and sat down on the ground I grab the TV remote from the table and scroll through my Netflix.

My phone started ringing again and I grabbed it from the couch.

"Hey." I said and pulled at the lid of my soda.

I hear him shuffling at the background for a while before he asked "Are you alright, Catherine? I just heard the news."

Ha! Well did I forget to inform you guys that the news is already everywhere, yes we are definitely going bankrupt. And then.... Nothing.

"I am fine Anitra, there's nothing I can do. I'm just here in my apartment drinking my soda and Cheetos, life is good."

That is a sarcastic way to put it life is not good there is nothing good about the kind of life that is going on with me everything has been a mess.

when I finally thought that things to be normal for me when I finally think that I wouldn't have to worry about money or worry about life getting too hard everything started crumbling again.
