EPISODE 52

Ace walked inside the house after dropping Catherine off at her house when he got inside he saw his mother standing inside the living room. He wasn't surprised, he knew that she would be waiting for him when he returned.

"Ace Michael Hampton what was that f****** all about in your school? What were you doing with that girl? What the hell is wrong with you? Why do I keep doing something and you try to ruin it? Why can't you see what I'm trying to do? Why can't you support anything just why? Why are you such a nuisance?" She asked angrily.

Ace sighed softly and stopped walking.

"Okay I don't understand what you are trying to do, so tell me what are you trying to do mother. what is it that you are trying to do if not to send her to jail for something she didn't commit when you didn't know the full story about what happened. You are just bitter towards that girl and it shows and just to be clear I won't let you hurt her ever, I'm going to protect her and before you attack her you will have to go through me." Ace responded before climbing stairs.

He slammed the door of his room closed. He hates the fact that he let his mother get to him and he said everything he said when she was obviously baiting him.

He threw his car keys on top of his bed and started removing is suit jacket he sat down on the bed and released a ashbrittle he was angry very very angry mad at the fact that he just provoked his mother when he knew that she tribes of competition and challenges this time around she's going to make a move on Catherine and it's up to him to do what it takes to protect her.

He pushed his hair back from his face and sighed. He hated where the situation was going. He grabbed his phone from the bed and texted Catherine.

'Hey, I'm home now. Are you in bed already? '

He sent the message and waited for her response. After a while and he didn't get a reply he dropped his phone back on the bed and walked towards his bathroom to take his bath. After bathing he changed into casual wear and returned back to bed when a soft knock came on the door.

"Come in." He said and the door was pushed open, revealing chef Bruno.

"I brought your dinner, young master." He said and he nodded his head.

Catherine's POV:

I went to bed early last night. Immediately after my video call with Talia I was carried away by sleep.

I didn't even know how it happened. I was hoping to text Ace before I go to bed but I just couldn't help it. I was sad when I woke up this morning and saw his text messages and I was already too sleepy to reply to any of them. It annoyed me.

So immediately I saw his text messages. I text him back and then he told me that he would like to take me out.

I wasn't sure because I was cautious about meeting his mother again and also cautious about seeing Liam because it's definitely going to feel awkward, especially if he hasn't told Ace about what happened and according to the text messages it's meant that no word has been said yet and hopefully none get said.

Liam is an easy going guy, or I rather say he put on a facade that painted him as the easy going guy why Ace was the bad boy but deep down I could tell that that wasn't the case.

Just like everyone of us have our demons I think Liam also has his, everybody puts out things that they want people to know about them, they don't showcase the twisted part of them just like Ace and I.

We have our own demons, we have our own weaknesses but on the outside we think differently from what we actually are. People tend to misunderstand people through what they put out but don't understand that it might be a sense of defense mechanism.

I don't blame people for how they live or react to things.

Sure I did call Ace a lot of names when he was making life hell for me but now I understand him.

He was treating me that way because he was hurt and also to protect himself from me, his feelings.

Okay. I think that's enough talking.

I walked out of my room and went downstairs to see Mom standing there with her traveling bag.

"Are you going somewhere, Mom?" I questioned curiously.

She turned back to face me and smiled nervously.

"I'm sorry sweetheart. I really had no idea that I would be going back to London this soon. I'm sorry. There is an emergency in the company calling for my attention. " She said , her eyes staring into my soul apologetically.

"But..... But what about me, Mom? Are you just going to leave me here just like that? " I asked her. I was confused about what was happening. I just wasn't sure about what to do.

"No. Of course not. But you're not coming along today. It hurts me to leave you here like this but I know that you have friends to say goodbye to. I'll send the company's jet to come and pick you up tomorrow or the next. You can have the opportunity to see your friends. " She explained. My eyes searched hers trying to understand what she was trying to say. If she was joking but she was dead serious.

Very serious.

"Are you trying to say that I only have two days left here in New York? " I asked her and she nodded her head.

" You're a British Lady, Catherine. It is time to go back home."

Please no.

Ace.

Talia.

No.

I just can't.

But what am I going to do about it?

I have to go back home. My father's land.

The place I was deprived of.

I have to go back.

But what about my life here? My recently lost but found love? My friendship?
