EPISODE 47

Ace stood before the mirror and stared at himself, a blank expression on his face.

He buttons up his shirt and wears his suit jacket before staring at himself once more over his mirror.

It was his high school graduation day but he doesn't know how he feels. He has always wanted to get out of here, out of the house, but the opportunity was coming faster than he thought and still he couldn't find the excitement in his heart.

He tilted his head back and stared at the ceiling then straightened himself, he turned towards the bed and grabbed his wallet then walked out of the room.

He had a lot going through his mind, he understood the reason why his Mother introduced him to Chelsey. It means that she was planning to have them get married which he would never allow, she found out that it wouldn't work out with Kisa now she was trying to force him into another person, and also the fact that his mother was trying to reopen a case that happened 4 years ago.

He has been trying to deter any information that is being told but it said it seems like it wasn't working. He had to try more and more no one can hurt Catherine but him. No one can hurt his butterfly.

He climbed downstairs and walked inside the living room only to see his mother sitting on a couch with a cup of lemonade in hand. He stopped working in the glass with her before continuing walking away but her words stopped him from moving further.

"Why are you protecting that girl from me?" Veronica Hampton questioned Ace. He stiffened and his jaw clenched.

He was angry. How did she find out about that? Was he not careful enough?

"What do you mean?" He inquired, feigning confusion. Veronica Hampton dropped her drink on the coffee table and crossed her legs.

"Are you hiding something from me, Ace Hampton? She questioned, her voice hardened at the end. Ace turned around to face her and raised his eyebrows.

"I don't know what you are talking about." He stated. His face gave nothing away but his brain was working fast to come up with more excuses.

His mother grabbed her birkin bag from the table and brought out an envelope from it then threw it on the center table.

She nodded her head at Ace and he went to pick it up.

Ace glanced at his mother one more time before opening the envelope. The first thing he saw was a picture of him and Catherine, Catherine's legs wrapped around his torso while his hands were grabbing her ass firmly and both of them were kissing each other.

Ace checked the second picture and it was that of him and Catherine inside Montegos restaurant.

The rest of the pictures were that of Catherine in her school uniform or in the restaurant where she works.

He stopped looking at the pictures and stared ahead at his Mom.

"Where did you get this from?" He queried, his voice calm and steady and his eyes turned into a shade of black immediately.

Veronica Hampton stood up and walked up to Ace, her stiletto heels clicking loudly on the floor. She took the pictures from Ace and sighed.

"That is not the correct question, the question is since when have you been hiding the fact that you've found her from me?" She bites back. He closed his eyes and opened them again, his heart was heavy.

He didn't know what to say.

He had to say the truth. He was already caught.

"What are you going to do, Mother?" He inquired sharply. "Are you going to arrest her? She is a teenager, she had nothing to do with what happened. If you don't know, she lost her memories and her father because of that accident."

Veronica's lips turned into a sinister smile as she stared at Ace.

"Were you hiding her from me? Why? I thought you forgot about her. Don't forget that we are talking about your father's death. My husband!" She shouted and closed her eyes to calm herself down.

She rarely raises her voice because no one is worth it but her son has been a pain in her ass for a while now.

Ace glanced at his wrist watch and stepped back from his mother.

"I am getting late for the graduation, in case you forgot or you're so busy with politics and business that you don't remember what today is." He watched as his mother tried to say something else but shut her up before she said anything.

"We are not done on this topic, Ace Hampton. You better provide a good explanation." She bellowed and grabbed her bag then walked out of the living room.

Ace released a deep breath and fished out his phone from his pants pocket then dialed Mike's number.

"Are you here yet?" He asked.

"Yes, I'm here." Mike responded. Ace hung up the phone and put it back inside his pants pocket before walking out of the living room too, his mind on what he just discussed with his mother.

He needed to get to her so fast before his mother did.

Ace walked out of the house and saw Mike standing beside his SUV.

Mike opened the car door for him and he stepped inside, Mike closed the door and walked around the car and got inside the driver's seat.

"Mother already found out about Catherine." Ace said and sighed deeply and heavily.

"How did this happen? Mike asked in shock.

When Ace returned to America after so long, his mother got Mike for him as his driver and bodyguard.

He became the older brother Ace never had and since then they had bonded well. Mike knew everything about Ace, including his history with Catherine Meyers and his true feelings.

"I don't know what to do, damnit." Ace cursed under his breath. "Drive, I need to go to school and see her. I need to see her before anything happens to her."
