《Abandoned ✔️》Chapter 12- don't let it get on your skin

We slowly snuck into Helton's room while Violet distracted him during his lunch and Kate kept an eye out for people.

"Did you bring it?" Tyler asks as Chris and I walk in behind him.

"You bet I did," I️ reply as I️ pull out a small bag from my backpack.

He extends his arm and I️ slowly and carefully place the bag on his hand. "Watch out Ty, don't let it get on your skin."

"Sure thing Vee," he says as he wears gloves and sprinkles some of the powder on the sides of Helton's chair and his table where he usually puts his hand when he stands up.

Ian suddenly comes inside the room and takes out a lot of glue. "Ready?"

"Hell yeah."

Chris and Ian open up a bottle of glue and they spread it on Helton's chair. "Make sure you spread it good, you don't want it to leave the white marks."

Both of them take a ruler and spread the glue carefully.

My eyes drift off to the cupboard he always keeps at the end of the room. I squint my eyes and notice the same box there with papers, pictures and other things in it.

That day when I pulled the box out, I saw a picture of him, a lady and a small child.

They seemed like a happy family if they are a family.

It made me feel alone and lonely once again when thinking about family. Why would my birth parents ever abandon me?

"Done?" Tyler asks and Chris and Ian nod in response. "Alright, let's go."

All through elementary school, everyone called me the abandoned girl. The girl who was never loved by her parents and they left her.

Tears started forming in my eyes and one of them rolled down.

Was I that unwanted? I thought.

I was too concentrated on the box that I didn't notice that Kate signaled Chris that Helton was approaching. Before I could move anywhere, Helton stormed into the room.

"Excuse me?" He almost screamed angrily and I quickly turn around to notice everyone left.

Shit.

I quickly wipe away the tears rolling down my cheek and turn around to find a very angry Helton.

"What do you think you're doing here Ms. Stavish?" He asks, angrily as he makes his way to me.

"I- I was looking for you," I reply back and he furrows his eyebrows.

"Looking for me? Why?"

"Well, you have been telling me to work for the yearbook people and I have been. Did you add the extra credit yet?"

He tries to examine me but I keep a straight face and don't let him know that I'm lying.

Maybe because I was always lied to about being wanted, I know how to lie and to make it sound as real as it can possibly get.

"You know that I don't have all day right? I need to know if you're going to add extra credit for them or I will stop volunteering for the yearbook."

He quickly utters, "no."

I raise my eyebrow and he clears his throat in response. "They earned the extra credit."

"Alright, good then. Finally my work finishes," I reply and start heading towards the door.

"Was everyone fine?" Helton asks, approaching me.

"Huh?"

He clears his throat and continues, "I meant the yearbook kids. They were fine right?"

Is he high?

"Why are you asking weird questions Mr. Helton? Since when do you care about the yearbook people?"I ask and he looks away.

"I don't," he says all too quickly. "It's just there are many people who got detention and so I just wanted to know if it's a safe space."

I furrow my eyebrows and try to examine him. Something is definitely up with him. He's acting stranger than ever.

"There was one person who needs serious attention," I say.

"Who?" He asks, paying attention to everything I'm saying.

"Cayson. Cayson Moore," I reply and I see his eyes widen but he quickly covers it up with his mean look.

"What about him?"

I keep it to myself and don't let it show that I know something is up.

"Well, firstly he made me work my butt off at the party and didn't tell me that he was there because of detention. Secondly, I get to know that he is actually kind of a singer in need of a female lead so, I agreed upon that offer. Lastly, he made a bet with me against my own mother and I lost," I say and he just listens to me, very peacefully.

I see a smile form on his face but he quickly shakes it off.

"Well, it's good to know that at least someone enjoyed themselves," he replies with a smirk on his face.

"Seriously? You don't even know who he is and you're kinda sorta supporting him," I say and he chuckles.

"Anyone who can win against you is most definitely someone whom I would support," he says and I scoff.

"We'll see who wins at the end," I say and leave the room without any further talking.

"Who did this?" Helton starts shouting at everyone because he is now so tired of us that he is glued to the chair. He is literally glued to the chair.

None of us say anything in return and he angrily stares at us. Especially at me because I have this huge smile on my face which I have been trying to control but couldn't because this is too hilarious.

"Tell me who did this or—" he starts as he tried to get up by holding onto the hands of the chair but suddenly starts itching himself. He groans and the whole class laughs including me.

"Bring me water," he shouts and someone quickly pours some water on his arms which are covered by the itching powder which isn't visible.

Before he could pour the whole bottle, Helton shouts and starts moving the chair while sitting down on it. "Agh."

I start laughing and at this point I could hear violet and Tyler cackling. I look at Tyler who is totally enjoying this.

Helton is so dumb. Does he not know that water makes itching powder worse? Guess not.

At this point many teachers and our principal are in this room, trying to get Helton off the chair and that itching powder off him.

Little did they know, the itching power was sprinkled all over the table where they had their hands placed and also Helton now.

Even the teachers started itching themselves which made the powder spread across them.

Almost all the students were tensed about this situation or how they might get detention because of this.

On the other hand Kate, Chris, violet, Tyler, Ian and I were laughing out asses off.

The solution to this problem is quiet simple. All you need is an ice pack but nobody except us knew and we weren't going to give it away this easily.

All of these teachers have always been mean to us. Not that we weren't mean to them but just looking at them itching themselves is satisfying to me.

"Wanna give them the ice pack?" I ask.

They all look at me then at Helton and the teachers and then back at me before breaking out in laughter again and nodding their head sideways.

Guess we are going to have couple more minutes of fun.
