~~~~~Day 5~~~~~
Erza's P.o.v
I woke up this morning to do my favorite thing, wake everyone up. I requip a pot and a pan into my hands, I decided to start with Jellal. I walk over to him, I was about to clang them together when his hand shot up. "Please don't. It gives me a headache." He said drowsily "Fine." I say pouting. "Your cute when you pout." He pokes my cheek, I swat his hand away and move on to wake the girls and boys up. After my favorite job, I eat breakfast with Mira, Laxus, Jellal, and the Exceeds. I poke Jellal in the cheek "What was that for?" He asks surprised "That was for poking me earlier." I reply putting strawberry jam on my toast. He just poked me, so again I poked him. This went on and on until he full on tickled me, I struggle with staying in my seat while he tasers me. With what was going on I didn't notice what Mira and Laxus are doing. I only know that they were blushing, a lot.
Pantherlily's P.o.v
I was done watching Erza and Jellal have a poking war, so I focused on Mira and Laxus. Happy was talking to Carla, trying to give her a fish. Mira and Laxus were closer together than before, but they were acting so... normal. Mira took a bite out of here toast "Mira, you have jam on your cheek." Laxus said laughing at the confused mage's face. She tried to wipe it off, but missed it. Laxus took the napkin from her and wiped it off for her. They stayed there in awkward silence, Mira just took the napkin from Laxus blushing "Um.. thanks." She said smiling, Laxus was blushing to "N-no problem." I saw him scowl at his stuttering. Mira just giggled and went back to eating, Erza and Jellal recovered from their war to see the blushing wizards.
Gajeel's P.o.v
We were all standing outside near the Christmas tree waiting for Mira, Ash-For-Brains is eating flaming Doritos after a breakfast feast. Mira comes out with a clipboard again, she scribbles some things on it "Today we will be playing scavenger hunt, but on a hike. You and your partner will be going on a hiking trail by your selves, on the way look out for the items the exceeds hid on the trail. Who ever finds them all and brings them back to the camp, unharmed, will win. Here are the partners:
Lucy and Natsu
Gray and Juvia
Levy and Gajeel
Jellal and Erza
Wendy and Romeo
And lastly, Laxus and I! Now come get the map for your trail when you are ready, it doesn't matter about speed. So you can all leave at your own time!" Mira announced, everyone went to go get ready.
Time Skip 30 mins
Laxus's P.o.v
Everyone else were well on their way, while Mira and I were last to leave. We went on the trail the Exceeds selected for us, Mira looked at the list of stuff. "So we will have to find:
- A purple leaf
- A small white rabbit
- A pine green scarf
- An owl plushie
- A poisoned purple berry
And at the bottom in Happy's handwriting is fish, but then it is crossed out with a pink pen, which is probably Carla." Mira said giggling at Happy's request. I spotted a paper purple leaf up in the trees "Hey Mir." I called "Mir?" she asked then nodded in approval "There is the purple leaf up there, i'm going to get it." I say not waiting for a respond as I turn into a lightning bolt. I zoom up and get it, coming back down in front of her. She opens up a bag and gestures me to put it in, I drop in the purple paper leaf and we keep walking.
MANTIS: On Hiatus
Two young adults who were childhood friends are killed amidst a pandemic worse than our own. After many years apart, Rihelah was on her way to see Michael, hoping to rekindle their friendship on the day they would both lose their lives. The pair are unwittingly selected to represent Earth in a test set forth by godlike beings who are intrigued that our world gave rise to complex life without having been intentionally seeded by their kind. Michael and Rihelah are reincarnated as predatory insects upon a distant planet called Edon. Elves, Dwarves, Dragons and their kin, Goblins, Ogres, Humans, Lizardfolk, Orcs, and sapient arthropods known as Enkelyn all inhabit this beautiful world touched by magic. The tiny mantids must survive terrified and very much alone upon arrival, while neither is aware that the other has also been reincarnated upon the same island. Naked in their new chitinous exoskeletons, they must now brave the terrors of an alien world's food chain. Each will benefit from their years of experience on Earth, but they must somehow find a balance between old lives and new. Moderate mindsets and peaceful values from a mostly safe and privileged life on Earth must now contend and somehow coexist with the strange physiology of a new and unfamiliar body as well as the violent aggressiveness of a predator's mind. To top things off, the pair are about to find themselves struggling with their inner turmoil while swept up by terrible conflicts they know nothing about. Both endure the hardships of their new lives while attempting to understand and make proper use of a mysterious and terse video-game-like System that pops status notifications into their vision from time to time, but initially has no useful interface. Some of the options they are presented with sound enticing, but as with everything else in life, each choice has benefits and drawbacks... Author's Note: This story makes many changes to the original version, and readers of Mantid will find that many things in Mantis are new and different; especially after the first few chapters. I've learned a ton from writing like a madman, and also from the RR community. I appreciate you guys! :)
Deep-dive into the ruins that cover the land with nothing but your dog and your faith. Search for the cure. Conquer your personal demons. Welcome to Catalyst Quest! A "quest" is a collaborative storytelling medium in which readers get to vote on the story at specific points. If you would like to read Catalyst in its original format or participate in current events, you can find us here, on Sufficient Velocity. This book is complete! The Forest Spirit who sought the Gods
After the Gods of Time, Nature and the Elements created this world, they took a rest under the shade of a tree they created. Thanking their creation for helping them back with its shade, they gave the tree sentience, blessed him and called him a friend. Now the Gods are half-asleep, content with only watching. The world has breathed for millenia, and the blessed tree still watches over the forest around himself. The world has changed and his life comes to an end, surrounded by loneliness. Gathering what's left of his strength, he passes his torch on, in the hope of giving a last goodbye to his friends, wherever they may be and whenever they would see. Meet and follow his first and last creation he passes his will to, a one of a kind forest spirit with... abilities (wouldn't want to spoil too much here now, would I?). Curious and cute, he will travel and meet new people, discovering the world he's in, to try and give a last goodbye to the three creation gods in his dad-tree's place.------It's my first time writing a novel! Or anything of the kind, in fact. So bash me as much as you like (within reason, of course).------This will be a world of humans, humanoïds, beasts, magic, and a heartwarming tale of travels across it. It won't always be butterflies, roses and friendship though, heavy moments are there too. Also : depictions of violence, blood and gore, nudity, strong language, alcohol and other classic +17 stuff. To the reader's discretion.
The Electric Messiah
Volume Two of the Ontogeny series. A time of unprecedented crisis has come. During a mission to the edge of the known world, Brigadier Weyland James discovered that humanity faces a threat so terrible that the sane mind can barely conceive it. Failure to meet this threat would mean the end of human civilisation, mankind thrown back to a life of wandering savagery, easy prey for the true masters of the planet who see humans as mere animals, theirs to use and exploit as they see fit.Hope exists, if all mankind can unite, putting aside their petty differences for the greater good, but the truth is so unbelievable that the Brigadier faces an almost impossible task in convincing the leaders of the human world. His task is made even harder by the fact that several governments have been infiltrated by agents of the enemy, who are using their influence to sow seeds of war and chaos.The Brigadier is not mankind's only hope, though. In Helberion, a small group of scientists, struggling to make a major scientific breakthrough, is being hampered by assassination and sabotage. Is this the work of the enemy of mankind? King Leothan hopes it is, because it would mean that the enemy fears this new science, that it could be used to create a powerful weapon against them. A weapon that could be the Saviour of Mankind. The Electric Messiah... This is the sequel to Ontogeny. If you haven't read that book yet you must read it before you read this book.
