《Fairy Tail One-Shots》Stingyu ~ Will You Be My Valentine?

Yukino's P.O.V.
I sat in the guild hall waiting for a long time. Finally, I had made the perfect chocolates for him, and he's not even here. I wonder where he went? He is the guildmaster now, he should be the first to arrive. I hope he's all right. Maybe I should go check on him. No, I'll wait a little longer.
Waiting and waiting, the guild fills itself up more and more. I watch as the chattering of groups go on, exchanging of chocolates on this day. I've always kind of wondered why February 14th has been marked as such a special day? However, this will be my first year actually celebrating it. I want it to go well, and maybe I'll find out why it's so special to everyone. Looking around, everyone looks happy. Lady Minerva seems to be getting quite a few gifts from the men, and Rufus is getting quite a few from the girls. Each girl who enconters him gets a uniquely made chocolate thanks to his Memory Make magic. Some of them swoon when he does so.
Th guild doors open once again. Anxiously, I watch to see who enters. Rogue. Sting should be following behind him, they're always together after all. But he's no where in sight. I'm starting to worry even more. Rogue makes his way to Lady Minerva, handing her a gift first, which she gladly accepts. I believe she even has a tint of pink appear on her cheeks when she recieves it. She returns the favor with a bag of chocolates of her own. Rogue is the first person she gave a gift to. I'm glad to see they're getting along together.
Once they part ways, I walk up to Rogue, in hopes that he knew where Sting was. He smiles at me and then digs in one of his pockets to retrieve a red envelope. "It's for you," he says – handing me the letter. The back of it says 'To: Yukino; From: Sting'. I thank him and open the the flap gently, taking out a card and opening it.

: Dear Yukino,
I guessed you might have realised I didn't arrive
at the guild today. I hope I didn't make you worry,
I was just out doing errands. But I would like you to
see you when I'm done. Meet me by the river on
the south bridge tonight at 7 p.m., there's something
I want to show.
Yours truly,
Sting :
I wonder what he wants to show me? And what sort of errands was he doing? He's never left the guild for anything more than a meeting before.
I thank Rogue again and head home. Trudging through the cold of winter, the light snow crunches under my feet as I embrace the chilly wind. It's not snowing, and the sun is high in the sky, but it's not stopping the wind prickling our faces. Walking along the path, I hold the chocolates I made for him in my hand. Well, the bag containing them anyway. I spent all day yesterday trying to make them perfect, I even picked out the ones that looked the best. I won't let that effort go to waste, I will give them to him tonight when I meet him. For now, I suppose I will get ready.
I open the door to enter my home and close it behind me. I then take off my white poncho I wore for the cold. I used that instead of my usual cape today. I walk into the bathroom and undress myself, putting everything in the laundry basket and turning the shower on. I put it moderately hot to warm me up. There's still too hours before seven. I can afford to take a relaxing shower until then.

I open the door to my closet – that makes a small creaking noise – and search inside for something to wear. I know it's not actually necessary since we're going to be outside anyway. But I don't know where he might take me, so I want to make sure. I take a white dress, kind of like my regular one, but jewelled a bit at the front, and a lacey back. I put on a necklace with a star charm at the end and I put my blue rose clip in my hair.

I still have half an hour before I meet him. Maybe I could go there early to surprise him. I wear my white poncho and put on my boots to go outside. When I open the door, there's a sudden gust of ice-cold wind that blows into my dace, crystaled snowflakes prickling my delicate skin. It's even colder than before. And it's dark too. At least the wind isn't as bad as earlier. Crunching my way through the cold snow again, I walk towards the south bridge like Sting told me in the letter. But I stopped before walking on it. Someone's already there.
Carefully, I step up to the person. "Hello?" I ask gently. The person jumps slightly and turns to me, wide eyed.
"Yukino!"
"Oh! Master Sting!" I cry shocked, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you," I bow in apology and look up to see him laughing gently.
"There's no need to call me master, just Sting is fine! I told you that," he smiles, making my face warm up a bit as I smile back. He's always so kind to me. Everyone is now. I'm glad he became our new master. Life has been so much better since then.
Then I remember the chocolates I made for him and take them out, handing them to him. He takes them, looking at me curiously, but with a smile all the same. He takes them out and tries one and smiling right away. He asked me where I got them and I tell him I made them myself. He tells me they were delicious, making me very happy. I'm glad he likes them.
And then he takes something out. It's a rectangular black blox. I open it just to be taken aback from what's inside. Startled, I stare at it in astonishment, an overwhelming feeling of happiness flowing through me.
"The Gate key of Canos Minor," he says, "I always saw how you admire Lucy's little snowman guy, so I thought you might like one of your own," he grins at me.
"Sting, I-I..." I stutter, but then he places his hands on mine.
"You know, I feel silly saying this, but..." he stops and blushes while gazing into my eyes, "Will you be my Valentine."
I nod and cry out yes – then hug him very gently. He hugs me back. I had such a good day. I guesss this is why everyone likes Valentines day so much.
Sting became Yukino's first Valentine, and he always made her happy. They both stayed together after that. And everyday, they were each other's Valentine.
