《To the Stars》Ella

Months had passed and Loke and Lucy had moved into a bigger apartment and set up a beautiful room for the baby, stars and galaxies circled around the crib and small toys and trinkets littered the room, ready for the little one to play with them. As Lucy got further along Loke wasn't able to stay in the human world for very long as it exhausted her. A deal had been set in place with the spirit king so he could pass through the gate without her expelling her magic energy. When the time came Loke was beyond excited to be able to be there.
Lucy laid in the hospital bed, the small bundle of joy cooing softly in her arms. She was tired but smiling as Loke leaned over her, kissing her head and chuckling at the small babe. Lucy looked up and smiled at him, the little girl in her arms was beautiful, strawberry blonde locks framed her slightly chubby face and she looked like an angel. Her eyes though, her eyes were unlike anything Lucy had ever seen before, they had locked with her own for what seemed to be an eternity before the young thing had fallen asleep. She had deep hazel eyes with what Lucy could only describe as stars, scattered across them. She was part celestial and she held the entire galaxy in her eyes, she would be a very powerful wizard and she would capture the hearts of everyone who looked upon her.
Ella grew up quickly and was indeed very powerful, she demonstrated at a young age her appreciation for celestial magic and practiced it with purpose. Lucy and Loke watched her grow among their friends, dancing around the tables in the guild. She learned about dragons from Natsu, she learned about fighting and being strong, but also about having a strong heart from Erza and Gray. She learned about ancient languages from Levy and she learned about poise and purpose from Mira. She could pass between realms and learned about her own power as being part celestial, she trained with Virgo and Aries who had quickly fallen in love with her. The day she joined the guild as an official member there was much celebration, no one had ever seen a half spirit half human wizard and were amazed at everything she did.

The air was cool and there was a breeze that made the bedroom curtains flutter, Loke lay with Lucy on his chest, drawing delicate patterns across her skin and absentmindedly kissing her head. Ella had gone on her first big mission alone and although they knew she would be fine, it was only a parents job to worry about their children.
"Loke, I'm not going to be around forever you know." She said quietly playing with a strand of his hair that was laying on his bare shoulder.
"I know, but what we have here and now is whats important isn't it?" he said, it hurt him though, the thought of losing her made him feel like a vice had been placed around his heart, "I don't want to ever lose you though." he whispered, hugging her close and nestling his face in the crook of her neck. She could feel the warmth of tears on her shoulder and she held him tight.
"I.... I want an audience with the spirit king." she whispered, almost choking on the words. She had been thinking it over for a while now, she realized soon after the wedding that while she was mortal, Loke could never really die. Eventually he'd outlive her and who knows what would happen to Ella, would her human part eventually die and would she become a spirit? Would she be able to retreat into the spirit world to heal? She had so many questions but she had solidified herself on one thing. She wanted to appeal to the spirit king and beg to become a spirit herself. She didn't even think it was possible, but she'd never know, and she was willing to do anything to stay by Loke's side and by her daughter. She would pass her keys onto Ella, her own included. Loke seemed taken aback, seeming to understand what her thoughts were.

"I don't know if thats even possible Lucy," he said quietly moving back to look her in the eyes, his were wet and she caressed her thumb over his cheek to wipe away the tears of the man she loved so dearly.
"If we never ask we'll never know, I'm willing to give up everything, our daughter is so strong, she'd be able to carry my keys and she'll be able to carry us, we can fight with her, be with her, and be together." Her voice was almost pleading, begging him to understand exactly how much this meant to her.
"I love you Lucy, please don't think this is the only way you'll keep me by your side." his voice was hoarse and he choked a bit. He gently held her chin and pulled her close, kissing her tenderly, when they parted she looked determined.
"Loke I love you with all of my heart, and I know you love me too, I don't want to do this because I'm afraid I'll lose you, I want to do this because it's the only barrier truly keeping us apart. I know you're tired, I see it in your eyes. I know you need to be in your world and I just want to be there with you." he nodded, as he stroked her cheek.
"I will try my hardest to get you an audience with the king then." She smiled and kissed him again, a mix of emotions playing in the pit of her stomach.

Points of Light - An Oral History of the Collapse
Humanity endures. The phrase is not only an informal slogan of the reformed United Nations, but a rallying cry the world over. Even in the face of extermination, we struggled, we fought, and we endured. But just how close did we actually come? In our darkest hour, how many steps separated our species from oblivion? And are we even safe now? Were the mistakes made by earlier generations really so obvious? Or are they only so blatent when we look back with the advantage of hindsight? If so, what horrors might be staring us in the face even now that no one has the foresight to prevent? Drawn from thousands of interviews, as well as uncorrupted contemporary recordings and source documentation dating back to the early 2000s; Points of Light is a definative look at the last half century of upheaval, prosperity and carnage. It tells the tale of what happened, how it happened, who was responsible and most importantly, what we might be able to do to prevent it from happening again. This is a rewrite of a previously started fiction under a pen-name. Chapters will be updated every two days at 6:00 EST.
