《To the Stars》Soft

They had walked back to her apartment quietly, their fingers locked together, every so often Loke would lean down and kiss the top of her head or her temple and every time Lucy would smile and lean into him. She wasn't quite sure if this was just a dream or not but if it was she preferred not to wake up, she was so in awe, his strong hands were smooth and warm against her own and her heart was still in her throat. Had she really admitted that she loved him? She really liked him, there was no question there, and she was quickly falling in love with him but she was so scared to fully open up and afraid that he may pull away if she did. She took a deep breath as they reached her front door. He quickly reached out and opened the door for her like a gentleman and she giggled walking into her room. Loke closed the door and pulled her close to him, gazing into her eyes he smiled,
"Lucy I love you to the stars and back," he gripped her chin gently, tilting her face to him, "I've wanted to do this for a very long time." her heart stopped as his lips gently brushed against hers,
this is it she thought, closing her eyes and wrapping her arms around the back of his neck and pulling him closer, deepening the kiss. His lips were warm and soft and soon, everything else disappeared, there was no apartment, not anything else except Lucy and Loke. She thought back to her daydream of them dancing in the stars, surrounded by nothing but feeling absolutely safe and happy. The only thing holding her down was his hands, one cradling the back of her head, fingers wrapped in her hair and the other, pressed against her lower back and holding her close. She didn't need him to hold her there though, she had pressed herself against him as if he were her only lifeline and she never wanted to let go. As they pulled apart they both smiled, he rested his forehead against hers and chuckled,

"And all this time I was so scared you would reject me." he said softly, wrapping his arms around her and hugging her close. "Even if you had I would have still been there to protect you, until the end of time." He whispered into her hair, "you're everything to me." They stood there like that, arms wrapped around each other savoring the others company. Loke took a deep breath, stifling a yawn.
"Loke, you should go back, rest for a while." She really didn't want him to go, she wanted him there in her arms. But he did look exhausted, he'd be able to get rested here but it would be quicker and more efficient in the celestial world. He nodded slowly and pulled away to lean down and give her a soft kiss.

Synergy
Dear Inspector, Please accept this letter as my formal resignation from being a Player. Hey! Laugh all you want, but I had to try. With no rules down here, who's to say that I can't resign? Anyway, my reasons are simple: I'm neither a gamer nor a hero. You got the wrong person for the job. Sure, the pay is decent and I could pretty much live like a king if, you know, I wasn't so busy trying to survive. I have major concerns about the demonic dagger bound to my soul too. Come to think of it, I've never asked to be transported to this fantasy land either and would like you to return me home, thank you very much. I don't want supernatural powers, I don't want to complete quests after quests, and I don't want to be your test subject anymore. What? I'm not whining, you're whining. Stop making excuses and let me leave already. Thank you for your understanding, and I hope you'll find a better replacement after I'm gone for good. Sincerely,Randel, the Mad Painter What to expect from Synergy: --> Some GameLit elements are presented subversively. If you want the protagonist to “play the game” properly, this might not be the story for you.--> No filler chapters; the story's structure is already plotted out. It's going to have six story arcs.--> Character development happens slowly, over many chapters. Don't expect a perfect protagonist right off the bat.--> Some romance, but it will never be the main focus.--> Humor and dark elements in equal measure, but not to the extent that I’d label this story as “Comedy” or “Grimdark”. ... and lots and lots of Author's Notes. See you on the other side of the portal!
