《To the Stars》Lucy's heart

Lucy sat at the bar in the guild, Mira was cleaning glasses and chatting cheerfully away. Lucy had told Mira about her and Natsu's conversation the night before and Mira had agreed. Loke had seemed different but Mira painted pictures of overly romantic scenarios in their heads and Lucy blushed as Mira giggled.
"Why don't you give Loke a chance? Flirt back, see what happens!" Mira teased as Lucy's cheeks flushed harder and she shook her head,
"I couldn't!" Lucy cried, throughly embarrassed now.
"Hey, Lucy, why haven't you dated anyone before?" Mira asked, relenting a bit in her teasing. Lucy sighed and looked down at the top of the table.
"Honestly, I don't know, when I was younger I was always expected to do whatever was necessary to keep my fathers business thriving. Even if that meant being unhappy in a marriage that only benefited a business." She paused and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, "when I left I became more focused on finding my own happiness and making my own life choices instead of having decisions made for me. I've had crushes, but I've never tried to pursue them." She smiled, "but I'm not mad about it, all my choices led me here. I love everyone in Fairytail and although a boyfriend may be nice, my friends are what really matters!" Mira looked a little shocked but she smiled,
"As long as your happy Lucy!" Mira busied herself as Lucy smiled and waved, she left the guild thinking that maybe she should open her heart a little bit, and maybe it was already? Loke started to drift into her thoughts, the mischievous glint he got in his eyes before he really made her blush, the charming smile that always lingered, everything about him was perfect and with that thought her heart skipped a beat. She hurried back to her apartment, hoping to find it empty but secretly hopeful that Loke had come through the gate himself.

8 399Bloodshard: Stolen Magic (COMPLETE)
Magic cannot be given away or rejected; it is as permanent as life itself. Not that I'd know anything about that. Magic is both impossible to obtain and illegal for commoners like me. So when I unexpectedly witnessed a brutal, deadly confrontation between two nobles, I assumed that was the closest to magic I'd ever get. Until I woke up the next morning with the unmistakable glow of power in my blood. My only hope is to hide who I am and somehow discover the truth of what happened that bloody night. And, more importantly, why. ---- 2020 nanowrimo project and [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Completed March 2021
8 213The Book of Rune
If you like moderately well-researched semi-medieval military logistics with some fantasy twists, and also conspiracy, and exploration, and violence, and maybe a dash of road movie, hey, Ruen just might be your thing. Plot-wise, basically there's a guy who got fired by Death, a kid with pyrotechnic tendencies, and a slave general who wouldn't mind retiring but ended up on a mass suicide mission. If you were looking for a less TL;DR version, a guy who got fired by Death meets a kid with pyrotechnic tendencies, and they try to get the guy un-fired while also trying to come to terms with death together (ooohhhh, look, I'm deep). Meanwhile a slave general does something stupid and ends up being sent on a suicide mission, and he tries to wreak havoc and save lives at the same time. The threads come together, I swear. This is a rough draft of a fantasy semi-book that I've had in the back of my head for some time. I've written a variety of short stories set in the world over the past three years, and I finally kicked myself into writing the actual story. Very much a slow work in progress. Occasional violence (okay, well, maybe more than occasional), occasional foul language.
