《Room Mates (NaLu)》Chapter 26 ~ Beach Bonanza

A few days had passed since the party; it was Friday, leaving the gang with a weekend free to relax and refresh.
Earlier in the week, Natsu had suggested to go the beach, which is exactly what we were packing for right now.
"Hey Natsu, can you pass me that bag please?" I asked the topless boy who was stood at the other side of my bedroom. He must be taunting me; knowing I couldn't resist a small peek at his toned body.
"Of course." He replied, rolling his arms into a bow before grabbing the bag that was lazily sat near him. "Here."
I laughed, a slight blush forming in my cheeks as I caught the bag.
"Make sure you pack some pajamas." Natsu said, causing me to throw him a confused look.
"We're staying a night." He stated simply with a sweet smile.
Eventually, the pair of us were all packed and ready for the beach. Natsu had volunteered to drive, where we would then meet the others at the beach. After an hour of awful singing and Natsu nearly crashing his car, we made it.
We both jumped out of the car, excited to be meeting up with the others, and bolted to the beach.
The scene was beautiful; clear beach, clear sky, clear water. The sun was still high in the sky, shining a warm blanket over everyone. It was really tranquil.
"Hey! Hey guys!" Shouted a small blue-head who was emerging from a crowd of people and running towards us.
"Levy!" I shouted back, simultaniously grabbing Natsu's hand and dragging him with me as I ran toward Levy.
"Guess who's here!" She said as we caught up with her, heading toward the group of people.
I shrugged, indicating for her to continue. She pointed toward the crowd excitedly. "Remember Sting and Rogue from the water park? They're here! What are the chances!" She said, as the faces slowly started to come to view. Natsu made a 'tsk' noise, causing Levy to giggle and wiggle her eyebrows at me.
"Guys!" Shouted Levy as she waved toward the crowd, grasping their attention. "They're here!"
After everyone greeted eachother, we all decided to do our own thing: whether that be go swimming in the ocean or play some volley ball. For me, I decided to get into my bikini and sunbathe along side Erza and Juvia. The sun was beaming down; meaning perfect weather to tan in.
"So, how are things with you and Natsu?" Breezed Erza as she lay on her towl, eyes closed.
I, doing exactly the same, replied. "Great actually yeh." I smiled.
"Have you two, 'done the deed' yet?" Said Juvia excitedly who was sat up, causing me to choke on air and sit up in my own seat.
"What?! No!" I yelled, looking at her extremely shocked - unknowingly blushing hard.

Juvia just wiggled her eyebrows before laying down on her towel, leaving me staring at her for a few seconds, before laying back down my self. That was embarrasing!
"What have you been doing?" Asked Erza, opening one eye to look at me.
I shrugged. "I don't know... it's kinda personal." I muttered, not that much has really happened anyway.
The girls interogated me for a little longer, before Gray trotted along toward Juvia.
"Hey Juvia, wanna swim?" He asked, resulting me in jabbed her lightly with my elbow whilst smirking.
"Sure." She blushed, grabbing his hands that he had layed out for her to help her up. The two directed toward the ocean, smiling brightly but also blushing.
"That's cute." Stated Erza as she stared off toward to two. "They really need to get together already!"
I agreed, nodding my head. They looked really cute together.
Just as I was about to lay back down on my towel, a pursuing blue head caught my attention. It turned out to be Jellal, who was walking towards us - somehow unnoticed by Erza.
By now, Erza had lay back down on the towel; her arms behind her head, sunglasses on and eye closed. Jellal sneaky padded toward Erza, staring at me with wide eyes, making sure I wouldn't say anything. Then, quickly, he scooped Erza up and bolted toward the sea, causing a small shriek to escape her lips and her sunglasses to fall to the floor as she was carried away.
I laughed hard at Erza's face as she was thrown in to the icey water. She sure wasn't expecting that. I looked around, realising I was the only one left on the towels as everyone else was either in the sea or playing volley ball. I made nothing of it and decided to lay back down- still wanting a tan; I wasn't going to waste the sun on such a nice day.
But of course, not long later, I opened my eyes to see a dark pair of onyx ones looking right back at me. Natsu had leaned over, placing his face over mine as she stared at my sunbathing state. I was shocked at first, resulting in me sitting up fast, only to end up banging heads with Natsu and falling back down.
"Ouch." I said, whilst laughing at to whatever just happened.
"Didn't mean to scare ya." Laughed Natsu as he crawled over and sat beside me.
"Well you did." I giggled. "What do you expect someone to do when they open their eyes to a face centimetre away." I joked, laughing.
"Anyway," Started Natsu, smiling softly. "I was wondering if you wanted to go out to eat later. Just you and me."
"...like a date?" I asked, blushing a little as he locked onto my eyes with his.
He blushed. "You could say that."

Now that I thought about it, Natsu and I had never really gone in a proper data together - even though we had been dating for quite a while now. My heart started to beat a little faster.
"I'd love to!" I smiled sweetly.
"Great." He said, standing up and extending out his hand to grab. He pulled me up, where I then dusted off any sand that was stuck to my legs. "Should we join the others?" He suggested, pointing towards the ocean surrounded by playful teenagers.
I nodded, then proceed to be pulled toward the water by Natsu. I couldn't disguise the bright smile on my face; I was just so happy.
Around an hour had passed; and most of us were looking like shrivelled figs. Rogue had suggested that we play volley ball, leading us toward a net that was behind everyones towels and bags.
We were put into two teams; mine being: Me, Jellal, Levy, Gajeel, Sting (Who Natsu wasn't very happy about.) and Lisanna. The opposing team had Erza, Gray, Juvia, Rouge, Natsu and Mira.
We started the game; Natsu taking first serve. He hit the ball and it plummeted across the court, where Gajeel then hit it back where it proceeded to fly toward Erza and so on. The ball went back and forth, each team managing to have equal point the whole way through, which had now been around half and hour.
Sting captured the ball near the back of the court, before pounding it toward me where I then hit it over the net, for no one to hit back.
Cheers and sighs chorused through the air as each team found there position of either winning or loosing. Sting ran toward me and picked me up by the waist and span me around whilst the rest of the team crowded round and cheered.
"You did it Lu-chan!" Shouted Levy as she high-fived me. I was soon put down while the opposing team came over and congratulated us.
"You did good Lucy!" Shouted Gray who high-fived me too, before Natsu came over and pulled me towards him by the waist. He shocked me when he squashed a soft kiss against my lips, leaving my eyes opened wide; only to see him staring angrily at Sting. He pulled away.
"Well done babe." He smiled, grabbing my hand and walking to the others protectively.
I chuckled to my self at his behaviour, before becoming serious once I saw Sting giving Natsu a dirty look. Are these two actually serious?
I looked back toward Natsu and grasped his hand, giving it a squeeze. He directed his attention toward me, nodding his head silently at me to ask what was up. By now, everyone had started walking down the side of the beach leisurely, leaving our bags and towels at the side as we would come back.
"What's going on with you and Sting?" I whispered whilst eyeing Sting who was walking ahead with Rogue, Lisanna and everyone else.
"I don't know. He's been giving me weird looks since we got here... But I really don't like how he is around you Lucy." Natsu sighed, looking up at me.
I stopped, causing Natsu to stop as well. The rest of the gang carried on walking along the waters edge, not noticing our stopping. I lifted my arms to wrap around Natsu neck whilst looking up at him.
"Who cares how he acts. I like you and only you." I smiled, planting a quick kiss on his lips then pulling him towards the others. I could tell from the corner of my eye that he was smiling; a slight blush evident across his tanned cheeks.
-
After an ice cream each, everyone headed back towards the spot with our belongings. The beach was pretty empty; hence the reason we decided to leave our stuff there.
We were slowly strolling back down the edge of the beach. By now, the sun was slowly starting to set, creating a beautiful canvas of oranges, pinks and purples to gaze at.
I was a little shocked when an unfamiliar arm was flung across my shoulders as I walked. I looked up to see the forbidden blonde looking down at me with a smirk.
"It's beautiful, it's it?" Sting said, as he nodded toward the sunset.
"Um, yep." I replied, trying my hardest to slide out from his grasp. I managed to get his arms off my shoulder just in time to see Natsu stomping over with a red, hot, angry face.
"What the hell do you think your doing?!" He yelled, causing Sting, me and everyone else to stop.
I stood awkwardly as the pair fought, looking back to Levy for support, who threw a shrug.
"Nothing." Chirped Sting sarcastically, trying to stand his ground.
"Stay away from my girlfried okay?!" Retorted Natsu, who was getting even more agitated.
"You're girlfriend huh? I'm suprised. I would think she could do a lot better with that body of hers." Snarled Sting, causing me to gasp at this complete new side that I definitely wasn't expecting. I really though Sting was a nice guy.
I took a step forward, opening my mouth to say something but quickly stopped as Natsu beat me to it... but a little more physically.
Natsu shoved Sting by his shoulders, causing Sting to stumble back a little but easily regain his balance again.
"What did you say!?" Spat Natsu.
This only made Sting smirk more as he pushed Natsu back.
"I said that your girlfriend has a smoking hot body that I wouldn't mind getting on." He smoothly spoke. My eyes widened, a little with shock, but mostly with fear of what Natsu was about to do.
That was when Natsu threw a punch.

The Huntsman's Quest (An Urban Magic Quest/RPG)
Jon Whitaker went to summer camp expecting a nice relaxing time as a newly minted counselor in training. He was not expecting to fight an army of monsters, work with a serial killer, enter a one-sided friendship with an eldritch horror, or study under a competing witch and dark lord. But regardless of what he was expecting, his summer is over and he's made his way back home where he can try and return to a normal -for him- life. Too bad life rarely goes as expected. --- Please Note: This is forum quest/RPG I run in the same city/setting as my other stories Hacking Reality and Get Ink'd, meaning that while a majority of the plot is made up by me, the major choices as well as what each chapter is about are usually made by the actual readers in forum votes. Additionally, given how this is essentially a story version of a Tabletop game there is also a background RPG system that while the characters aren't necessarily aware of, the readers can see these stats to know how each chosen 'Action' effects their character's development.

A Standard Model of Magic
The world ended, and magic came back. The part our parents didn't expect, was for Science to break on reentry. Twenty years after the apocalypse, with our nations dismantled and hidden continents unearthed, a new generation has grown up in the wreckage of 21st century civilization. For us, the fantastic is at our doorstep and we have had no choice but to fight back. Meanwhile, the laws of nature bend and break at the whims of immortal gods, all of which are now dead and none of which are content to stay that way. But we cannot afford to give up. We are the stewards of a rewritten century, in which a little luck and a whole lot of magic might make anything possible – maybe even a world better than the one we lost. A Standard Model of Magic is a complete overhaul of my old story A Storm in the Fall. I'm afraid I was unhappy with the LitRPG elements, which I don't mind reading, but I apparently loath writing. Sorry. Once I'd made the choice to decouple the story from the OF that inspired it and reconfigure the magic system to my satisfaction, little of the original plotline survived. I will be salvaging most of my original characters, and I will keep some elements which are endemic to the genre, but that is all. I don't have an update schedule which I can commit to yet, but I will try to maintain a weekly pace.(This is currently RoyalRoad exclusive, since I'm lazy. If you find it posted elsewhere, it wasn't me and it wasn't with permission) If you're interested, I've set up a discord.

A Primeval Future
Follow the story of a modern caveman as he learns to survive, thrive, and shape his nascent civilization in a world yet untouched by man. Expect a focus on the nitty-gritty of primitive living, especially early on. I plan for this to eventually progressing to the settlement management and politics stage as people gravitate towards the one guy who looks like he knows what he's doing, but this will likely take some time. Despite the occasional system elements, skilling and levels will not be a part of this story. No shortcuts. There will be violence and there will be sexuality but there will be no sexual violence. I hate reading that crap and I hate writing it even more. This is my first serious foray into writing. I plan to put out at least 1 chapter a week, more when I can. Constructive criticism is very much welcomed as are ideas and suggestions! Cover image credit: "Mesolithic camp site" by Wessex Archaeology is licensed with CC BY-NC 2.0.
