《Room Mates (NaLu)》Chapter 13 ~ Left Alone

"Lucy?"
"Lisanna?"
I sat, staring at the girl I once knew.
"Is... is that really you?" She asked, her voice was shaking a little.
I nodded nervously, my sweaty palms twitching on my lap.
"uhm, you two know eachother?" Asked Mira, face puzzled from the whole situation.
"Yeh, what did we miss?" Added Gajeel, also looking rather confused.
"We were really good friends..." I trailed off, eyes still on Lisanna. A few seconds of silence passed.
"Excuse us." Exclaimed Lisanna suddenly. She grabbed my hand and pulled me from my seat towards a door saying 'employees'. She gestured to a waiter to serve our table before entering the small room and pulling me in with her.
Her arms wrapped around me tightly in an embrace. Her face was burrowed in my hair as quiet sobs escaped her.
"I've missed you so much" she cried. I wrapped my arms around her in return. "I'm really sorry for what I did" she carried on.
Memories that had once been blocked out flooded back, the feeling of tears prickled at my eyes.
"Why did you leave?" Was all I managed to get out.
"I'm sorry. I was scared" she unleashed me from my hug and looked me in the eyes; tears still falling down her face. "After what I did to you, I couldn't forgive myself so I left and went to live in England for a year. By the time I'd came back, I had realised my mistake of leaving... but I guess it was too late"
"You were my best friend..." I trailed.
"I'm so sorry Lu, especially as I knew everything you were already going through." She looked into my eyes, tears streaming down both of our faces. "Can you forgive me?"
"Of course Lis" I said to her softly. I gave her a small smile. "Everyone makes mistakes, right?"
She hugged me a second time, tighter than before. I hugged her back before breaking it and grabbing both her hands. I gave them a gentle squeeze, before telling her that I had to return to the table and that I'd call her later. I exited the room and made my way to the table, looking at my feet as they walk. Good thing I didn't wear any makeup today.
Next thing I know I'm on the floor - A wild Natsu on top of me.

"Oh god I'm so sorry!" He said whilst helping me up. "I was going to see if you were okay and wasn't looking."
I laughed a little before grabbing his hand and pulling him in the direction of the table.
"It's fine, I wasn't looking either!" I replied.
I could tell he was looking at me curiously. He stopped in his tracks, making me come to a holt too. I turned around to look at him.
"What?" I asked as he carried on studying me.
"You've been crying. What happened? Are you okay?" He fired questions, voice laced with worry.
"Im fine. It's nothing" I assured, not wanting to think about what happened anymore. He carried on staring at me with knowing eyes.
"I'll tell you later..." I gave in before dragging him to the table.
The night consisted of lots of food, laughter and reminiscing moments at the water park; however, eventually came to a close.
"Bye guys! See you tomorrow!" Me, Natsu, Erza and Levy waved to the others as we walked through the parking lot to Natsu's car. We got in the car, Levy and Erza seated in the back once again. Eventually we set off home.
"Today's been great!" Levy said from the back seat. I looked at her reflection to see smile tugging at her lips and a light blush covering her cheeks. I giggled before replying.
"Oh, I've been meaning to ask..." I began, still facing forward in my seat, my face now holding a smirk. "What happened with you and Gajeel on that slide?"
I turned around in my seat to face the tomato. Her face had redened immensely. She was looked down at her hands that where picking at the end of her white camisole.
"Nothing." She said, trying to act casual.
"That's a lie" Added Natsu.
"Yep, we all saw how you two were acting when you got off that slide" Erza chimed in.
If Levy's face could have gotten more red it would have.
"Stop teaming up on me guys..." she mumbled, pouting in her seat.
We all laughed and I turned back around in my seat.
"I guess we'll never know" I sighed jokingly.
-
"Bye Levy-chan! See you!" I waved, before hearing the click of her dorm door close and in result closing my own.

I walked further into the dark apartment, Natsu already disappeared somewhere inside. I turned on the light in the kitchen and grabbed a glass from the cupboard.
After filling it up with water, I sat at the island in the middle on a tall chair and placed my head in my hands. I pondered over todays events; both good and bad.
The bad ones making my head sink a little in my arms.
Suddenly I was turned in my chair. Natsu swiveled me around, away from the counter making my arms drop to my lap.
He cupped my cheek with one warm hand and looked into my eyes.
"Talk to me Luce" he said softly.
I stared into his warm eyes for a few seconds.
"Okay... But brace yourself." I warned.
We walked over to the couch and sat side by side. I pulled up my legs and crossed them so I could face him - Him doing the same. He looked at me, waiting for me to tell my story.
"It all started when I was about 7." I started, taking a deep breath.
"Lisanna was my best friend. We did everything together during and after school. You would never find us seperate right until we were around 14. One day, my mother..." I took in another deep breath "...she was diagnosed with a grave illness. I was having a really hard time at home, constantly worrying about her, but I was okay because Lisanna always stood by me, making me feel better when I needed it."
Natsu sat, listening carefully to every word, nodding along the odd time. This next breath was shakey.
"Eventually, my mums illness got worse... I went to visit her at the hospital along with my father. We talked at laughed and I thought everything was going to be alright... but that night we got a phone call. They told us the bad news: that my mother had finally passed. My father stormed out in anger and I cried all night. I loved her so much. She was my role model and friend and suddenly she was just torn from me."
Tears were pouring down my face at this point, but somehow I still managed to tell Natsu.
"The next morning I woke up to find my father drunk, lay on the floor in the kitchen. Bottles of vodka surrounded him and the room trashed. As days passed, I didn't attend school, my fathers drinking got worse, sometimes he even got violent, blaming me for my mothers death. One day Lisanna's boyfriend had seen my father at a local pub geting drunk and shouting things about me being his 'killer daughter', so he came to the house to check if was okay... I'm guessing Lisanna saw and thought he was cheating on her with me. She left school and all I heard from her was a text about how much she hated me. She knew about my situation too, leaving me with no one. She told everyone in school I was a cheating slut... so I got bullied pretty bad."
A loud sob burst from my mouth. I placed my face in my hands, crying hysterically. Natsu shuffled towards me, embracing me in a warm, well-needed hug. I wrapped my arms around his neck and cried heavily into his neck.
"She..... left me......... I had... no one." I said between sobs. He pulled away and placed his forehead on mine and his hand gently on my head.
"You have her now." He whispered letting his large, warm hand travel up and down my back. "...and me. And all your friends at Uni."
I sobbed a little quiter, trying to calm dow. I hated thinking about the past. He slowly started to lean towards me, closing the gap between us with a soft peck on the lips. I was shocked at first, then quickly wiped my eyes with my sleeves.
"Natsu?" I asked quietly.
"Yeh?" He said, his hand still holding my lower back. He ran his thumb up and down.
"Thankyou" I replied. I looked up into his eyes and gave him a small smile. "Thankyou for being here."
His arms wrapped around me once again in another hug.
"I'll always be here Luce" he whispered.
We sat for a few minutes before he pulled free again.
"Lucy, I've been wanting to ask you something for a while now..." he started. My heart fluttered a little from anxiety and excitment as to what he was going to ask.
"What is it?" I asked. Looking at him with a smile.
"Will..." He shuffled in his seat, suddenly becoming nervous; a light pink dusted his cheeks. "Will you be my girlfriend?"

Dauntless: Origins
Snow white hair, blue eyes, pale. Devil, monster, mutt, failure. This story follows one Tyr Faeron, crown prince, heir primus and mass murderer. A wrathful, angry, and lost young man that has made it his goal to hunt down the men that killed his mother - and he is on the cusp of finishing the promise he'd made before her cairn stones so many years ago. On the surface he is duplicitous, whimsical, and base of cunning - but within the depths beyond the many masks he wears, something is waiting. Waiting for an end, the end he'd come to long for, whether it be to himself or any possible threats in his vicinity. After that long labor of vengeance is completed... Nobody knows, not even him - an arrogant and otherwise solitary individual with nothing in the way of friends - only the brothers of the blackguard who follow him through life as he pursues this mission. He was born a prince, but he'd be called a disappointment - failing to manifest the great power that he was born to before being summarily discarded by his father, a 250 year old 'primus'. That word again... Men who can shatter mountains and level cities, that's what he was supposed to be. Some call them demi-gods, all Tyr sees is a poor excuse for a parent. Time had made him bitter, cruel, and arguably psychotic - seeing only enemies wherever he looks. They'd come for him, too, one day - to wipe the slate clean and make room for another - and it's his conviction to ensure that he dies while taking as many of those rats with him. This is a story about finding acceptance, growth, and understanding - from the point of view of a cold and brutal individual who wears many masks. Of someone who was born to be the greatest emperor the eastern continent has ever seen - but he failed in that. Strong, yes, but only in the context of a man - Tyr's magic is weak. His convictions are weak. He has been made a beast of instinct by loss and a constant confronting of his own impotency in the face of his father. A mythos that stretches across planes, of magic, a pantheon of cruel gods. Of someone who's dedicated his entire mind to the art of killing a man, and none to living a normal childhood or coming to understand friendship, empathy, or compassion. The first five years of his life a mystery, a hole none have ever been willing to fill, leaving him warped and twisted. His formative years gone and what must've been most of his humanity along with it. Now 17, he is on the cusp of leaving the city he'd never been permitted to leave for what might be the first time in his life. Always searching, though he won't know what for, for some time. An episodic that follows experience and symbolism rather than a never ending series of battles - where the conflict lay in constantly searching for wholeness in lieu of great villains or heroes. This is where it all started, the origin, the tale told a million times - and yet it hadn't been, 'reality' is tricky like that. The greatest lie ever told by the tongue that speaks is that any of this was real at all.
