《Emerald》45

Draco stood against the wall, across the hall from the doors.
Filtch was walking away in the distance.
"Draco!" I called out, as I ran up too him.
Draco quickly folded his arms across his chest.
Draco stood tall, as he turned his head away from me.
"What do you want?" Draco hissed through his gritted teeth.
"I- I... look at me!" I yelled, placing my hand softly on his face, turning his head to look at me.
Draco softened his stone, cold look.
His eyes met mine.
Draco and his damn eyes.
"Your hands are like ice, darling." Draco nearly whispered.
He softly moved my hand from his face.
Draco wrapped his large hands around mine, and held them at his waist.
The warmth of Draco radiated, as it slowly warmed my fingers.
"I was wondering if you, wanted to go to the party with me?" I slightly smiled at him.
The corners of Draco's lips turned up slightly.
"I would love to, darling." Draco whispered, as the smile grew on his face.
"are we doing here?" Snape spoke loudly.
He stood next to Draco and I.
I didn't even hear him come out.
Draco's smile quickly faded.
"I was just telling this mudblood to leave me alone." Draco spat, as he looked at Snape.
"Sure.... you were." Snape's eyes traveled to Draco's hands, which were still holding mine.
Draco quickly pulled his hands away from mine.
He proceeded to wipe the palms of his hands on his pants, as if my touch had soiled his skin.
Snape's eyes drifted to mine.
"You better return to your party.... you wouldn't want to miss anything...." Snape spoke to me.
I looked back at Draco, who was giving me a disgusted look.

I swallowed hard, before I spoke.
"I think, I'd rather go.... home." I spat in Draco's face.
Draco held eye contact, with his cold gray eyes.
I turned around, and walked down the dark corridors.
"That's what I get!" I huffed, as I walked alone.
"That's what I get when I'm nice!" I threw my hands up in the air.
I walked up the Gryffindor stairs, and through the common room.
When I entered Hermione and I's room, I grabbed a cigarette from my one pack.
It was running low, I was trying to quit.
I deserved a cigarette.
My body craves one when I'm upset.
I couldn't help it.
I quickly walked out of the Gryffindor house, and out a random door.
I sat on the ground outside, as I lit my cigarette.
It was cold, and snowy, but I didn't care.
The bright moon glowed in the sky.
"You're so stupid." I told myself, as I took a long drag.
I let my head hang down, as I slowly smoked the cigarette.
I watched the ember glow, as I took each breath in.
Tiny bits of ash blew off into the wind.
"Well, I haven't seen a cigarette here since.. well, probably the 60's." Dumbledore stood beside me.
I almost jumped out of my skin.
"Gosh, everyone sneaks up on me!" I rubbed my face.
How do they make their footsteps so quiet?
"I didn't mean to startle you." Dumbledore spoke as he looked off into the distance.
"Do you want me to.. put it out?" I asked him.
"No, as long as you smoke them outside, it shouldn't be a problem." He said, and I took another long drag.
I quickly finished my cigarette, and put it out on the pavement.

"The party end already?" Dumbledore asked me.
"No, I left early. I should have just stayed home." I let out a nervous chuckle.
"Well, I hope it didn't cause a tearful night. Tears are precious, they can even hold memories." Dumbledore put his hands behind his back.
"No, I didn't cry." I looked up at him.
"Well, that's good. It's very cold out, you should get inside. Have a good night dear, I'll see you after the holiday weekend." He smiled, before walking inside.
I got up, and dusted the snow off of my dress.
I quickly walked back to the Gryffindor commodore, where I met Ron.
He was sitting on one of the couches in the common room.
"What are you doing still up?" I asked him.
"Well, you see... I was supposed to ask you if you wanted to join Harry, Hermione and I at my place for Christmas.... and well I was supposed to ask you weeks ago, and I forgot until now." Ron rubbed the back of his neck.
"Sure, what made you remember?" I asked him, as I sat down next to him on the couch.
Ron pulled a red envelope out of his pocket, and handed it to me.
"Well, I got this today. I haven't opened it yet." Ron winced at the thought of the envelope.
It was a howler, from his mom.
"Here goes nothing." I said, as I broke the seal.
The envelope lifted into the air, as it formed a mouth.
"RONALD WEASLEY," the envelope yelled, "I ASKED YOU WEEKS AGO TO INVITE HER TO CHRISTMAS, AND YOU STILL HAVEN'T GIVEN ME AN ANSWER! I WILL GROUND YOU FOR THE REST OF ETERNITY, IF THAT GIRL HAS TO SPEND YET ANOTHER CHRISTMAS ALONE!"
Ron closed his eyes, as the envelope yelled at him.
The envelope turned toward me.
"Hi, dear," it spoke in a normal toned voice, "We would be delighted to have you for Christmas. The holidays are more fun when you're around others. We will see you tomorrow!"
The envelope quickly tore itself up into small shreds.
Ron slowly turned his head toward me.
"I guess you better pack a trunk then." His voice squeaked with fear.
"I guess so." I laughed.
I went to my room, to pack some clothes for my weekend at the Weasley's.

While I have little to no intention of showing them (especially during a Writathon) things like abuse of all kinds (neglect, emotional, mental, spiritual, physical and sexual) can or be implied to have happened. These are played to the horrors such things are, and are treated with the seriousness and aftereffects it would cause. Progression + Cultivation + GameLit + Multiverse + Slow Build + Slow Burn + Worldbuilding + Grimbright + Multiple POVs = Insanity for all. This the first time I am seriously writing an original story. I will be Writing each book in Parts/Arcs (3-6) with mini arcs (3-6 in each arc). Each Mini-arc is 5-14 or so chapters. I like progression stories and I've always wanted to try and write one like a few of the web novels that inspired me. The Game Lit aspects will be more in the background, with focus on other details like dungeons, monsters, loot, morality, and so on. There will be focus on various kinds of progression. Updates 3-5 days a week (Usually weekdays). Chapters will be roughly 1000-2500 words and alternate wildly.
