《Emerald》31

"Sit." Hermione demand, as the four of us returned to the Gryffindor common room after classes.
"Saw this coming." I groaned,as I flopped down on the couch.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione stood around me.
I was surrounded.
"Why is Malfoy acting like that?" Hermione crossed her arms over her chest.
"Ask him." I replied, Hermione hit me in the head with a news paper.
"Ouch!" I yelled, rubbing the top of my head.
"Tell us!" Ron demanded.
"I don't know! I punched him in the face a few days ago! I expect him to be anything, but nice to me!" I yelled at them, throwing my hands into the air.
"Here," Hermione handed me a vile, "drink this."
"What is it?" I asked, as I inspected it.
It had no label, Hermione was smart enough to take it off.
It was translucent, with a slight yellow hint to it.
"Hermione, don't. She's telling the truth." Harry defended me, it looked like he didn't want anything to do with this situation.
"We will know for sure, once she drinks it." Hermione smirked.
It's a truth serum, of course she would whip this up, and make me drink it.
"Fine, just to prove it to you." I scuffed, as I drank the liquid willingly.
The liquid warmed my insides, as it entered my body.
They all stood in silence, waiting for the serum to take effect.
"Do you know why Malfoy is acting like that?" Hermione asked me again.
"He's just trying to be nice." My body replied, with out my mind telling it to.
This stuff was bloody powerful.
"Why is he being nice?" Ron asked, as he leaned over me.
"Because, I told him he was a dick." I blurted out.

I tried to hold my words in, but nothing could stop them from leaving my mouth.
"I guess you're right, Harry. Guess we will have to ask Malfoy." Hermione huffed, as her and Ron left.
They walked out of the Gryffindor commodore, letting the door slam loudly behind them.
"I don't know why she has a stick up her ass, about you and Malfoy." Harry extended his hand out to me, helping me up too my feet.
"Because she hates him, for calling us mudblood's. And, because Cedrick and I walked the halls with him that one day, last year."
Man, when is this shit gonna wear off?
I couldn't hold any words back.
...
Later that night, I snuck out of the dorm.
I went too the astronomy tower, I knew I would find Draco there.
I always do.
"I can hear your little footsteps, darling. You can't sneak up on me." Draco said, as he sat on the old chair in the middle of the room.
"I wasn't trying to sneak up on you." I replied, as I walked over to him.
Draco stood up in front of me, towering over my head as he looked down.
"Your little ginger friends payed me a visit earlier, they tried to question me. You know anything about that?" Draco spat me.
"They did the same to me, made me drink truth serum. They thought I was lying to them, when I said I didn't know why you were acting that way during class." I spat back him.
"Surprised Potter didn't come interrogate me as well." Draco stepped away.
He began looking aground the room, examining various things that he picked up.
"I don't think Harry really cares, he's got bigger things on his mind. But what did you really expect? Did you think they weren't going to ask questions?" I asked him.

Draco stopped in his tracks, and looked at me.
"No, I didn't. I believe that I'm far too superior for them to even approach. For them to even speak to me..." Draco trailed off.
"Are you 'far too superior' to talk to me then? Those are my friends after all." I crossed my arms over my chest.
"No, no, darling. That's not what I ment." Draco spoke quickly, as he stepped closer to me.
"That's what you said. If you think that of them, what you think of me is probably worse." My voice got quieter as I spoke.
I looked at the ground.
"Darlimg, I think you're lovely. Every inch." Draco tapped my nose softly with his fingers, causing me to look up at him.
"What are we, Draco? Where do we stand? Are we keeping this a secret or not? I need to know before we move forward." I sighed.
Draco looked deep into my eyes.
He licked his lips, and placed his hands on my waist.
"Well obviously, people know now... that were at least friends. They didn't take it as bad as I thought they would." Draco brushed my hair out of my face with his fingers.
"Well my friends know something is going on now, what do I tell them?" I asked.
"That were friends, there's nothing wrong with that."
"What about the rest? The seeking around?"
"We better keep that secret for now, see how this friends thing turns out." Draco chuckled, as he kissed my forehead.
"Alright, I better get going. It's getting late, I don't want to risk Hermione waking up as seeing I'm gone.... I'll never hear the end of it." I chuckled.
Hermione was still fast asleep when I entered our room.
She even looks like she thinks when she sleeps.
Does that woman ever give her brain a break?

The Shadows Become Her
A fantasy progression, a coming of age story, and a tale of revenge... Alvixia "Vix" Altorelli's idyllic childhood is disrupted in one tragic night when the duke's fanatics ransack the Altorelli home and imprison the rest of her family, selling them into slavery across the ocean. Vix soon finds herself fleeing for her life and her freedom, fleeing to the faraway city of Floria on an island ruled by the mysterious Nurass, Prince of Shadows. In Floria, Vix's sharp mind and talent for magic land her a spot at the Perdita Free Collegium, the world's greatest school for spies, saboteurs, swashbucklers, seductresses and, some claim, practitioners of dark magic... and that suits Vix just fine. If the Collegium wants to give Vix the tools she needs to save her family and get her revenge on Duke Orso, she'll take that deal any day of the week and twice on Saintsdays, even if that means making a deal with the Prince of Shadows himself. This is Vix's tale. Author's Note: Now that Writathon 2022 is over, updates will be on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays!
8 95The Ruins of Magincia
They say all things end in time, but the exalted City of Magi would’ve begged to differ. Yet when an attempted coup goes wrong, the city finds itself brought to the very brink of destruction. In the wake of the calamity that left no survivors, the autonomous infrastructure still operating the ruined city seeks to restore what was lost. Luckily for it, the Mana-devoid Universe it awoke in holds an unexpected surprise: a planet full of sentient life forms. All capable—with a little help—to become the next generation of Magi. Back on Earth, Millie McArthur is a pregnant out-of-work mechanic struggling with the prospect of moving back in with her parents after leaving her unfaithful fiancé. That is until she finds herself just one of the hundreds that have been shanghaied by the callous artificial constructs still manning the ruins of Magincia. Now, she must struggle to learn magic, compete for resources, get good 'grades,' and fulfill the seemingly arbitrary requirements for her future job in this broken city. All while keeping herself, and her son, alive. Is the miracle of magic really enough to make up for all the pain? The Ruins of Magincia is a dark fantasy that's heavy on the drama (LitRPG aspects are very light). Chapter lengths can be anywhere from 7k-12k and there's no current release schedule as I'm focusing on wrapping up volume one.
