The next day, Tony decided to have a team dinner. We only had a team dinner once a week or two. For the most part, everyone was busy with their own things, especially with the upcoming move. We all kind of grabbed food when we could and it was never at the same time. Tony was at the tower less and less since he started seeing Pepper again. He currently still lived at the tower, but instead of moving to the compound with the rest of us, he was moving into his own place a good forty five minutes from the new Avengers base.
Tony bought everyone Chinese and FRIDAY let everyone know that the food was here. I walked into the main living space and squealed excitedly when I saw Pepper standing next to Tony. I hadn't seen her in a long time. We'd have our weekly talks on the phone, but it wasn't the same.
Pepper smiled brightly when she saw me and I teleported from across the room before wrapping her in a tight hug.
"Where have you been!" I asked and pulled back to look at her. She looked good. Her hair was more blonde compared to the strawberry blonde her hair was the last time I saw her.
"Running a business." Pepper chuckled and lovingly moved some of my hair out of my face.
"And, you're blonde, now!"
Pepper laughed and looked down, picking up a piece of her hair to look at it.
"Only for the summer." She told me.
"How long are you staying for? Just for dinner, or?" I asked and gave her my best puppy dog eyes. Pepper rolled her own at me before shaking her head with a smile.
"Just the night." She answered before looking me over, her eyes stopping on the ring on my left hand. Peppers lips parted in surprise as she looked back up at me before glancing behind me. I glanced over my shoulder to see Loki leaning against the dining room table with a smirk on his face. I felt Pepper grab my hand and I turned to see her look at the ring, a slow smile spreading over her lips.
"Oh, my god!" She gasped and moved my hand to see the light glint off the green gem. "Did he-?" Pepper questioned and looked me in the eye. We hadn't talked since Loki asked me. I bit my lip to hide my smile and nodded. Pepper immediately turned and smacked Tony's arm.
"Ow!" Tony said and rubbed his arm.
"Why didn't you tell me!" Pepper scolded him before turning back to me and squishing me in another hug. "Congratulations!" She told me. "When did it happen? Do you have a date picked out yet?"

"No, not yet." I said as she pulled away and grabbed my hand to look at the ring again. "It's only been a week." I explained.
"Wow, it's gorgeous," Pepper said as she starred at the ring, "and the two headed snake is the perfect symbol with the double meaning. Though, it's more Aztec mythology than Norse." She mentioned.
"What?" I asked and tilted my head in question. Pepper furrowed her brow and glanced behind me at Loki.
"Well, Loki's symbol is a snake eating it's tail, but he changed it to a double ended serpent that represents a rebirth, in body or spirit." She explained. "Am I wrong?" Pepper asked Loki. I looked over my shoulder to see him smile kindly at her while walking up to us.
"No," Loki shook his head and wrapped an arm around my waist. "You're not wrong." He bent down and kissed the top of my head and I blushed lightly.
Pepper 'awed' at us while Tony rolled his eyes. I stuck my tongue out at him before Steve and Natasha walked into the room.
"Pepper." Nat smiled and walked over to greet her.
"Ms. Potts, how have you been?" Steve asked her with a smile.
"Just making sure Stark Industries doesn't go under, and making sure Tony doesn't work himself to death."
"Hey," Tony protested, "I've actually been doing really well, lately."
"Yes, Tony, you have," Pepper agreed.
"Friends!" Thor announced as he walked off the elevator. "Why are we all conversing instead of feasting?" He asked before seeing Pepper. "Oh, hello, who are you?" Thor asked.
Once the tower turned into Avengers headquarters, Pepper stopped coming. Tony didn't want her in danger if someone decided to attack the tower. The few times she did visit, Thor was off world.
"Pepper Potts." She introduced herself with a smile and held her hand out to Thor.
"Ah, Starks woman." Thor said happily and shook her hand. "It is good to finally meet you. Will you be joining us for dinner?" He asked and released Peppers hand.
"If you don't mind." She said and glanced around at all of us. Before anyone could answer, a blur followed by a gust of wind and blew past us. I turned to see Pietro sitting on the couch, eating a box of beef and broccoli with chopsticks.
"Pietro..." Loki scolded him with a stern look. Pietro shrugged his shoulders with his mouth full.
"What?" He asked and ate another piece of beef. Loki sighed heavily.
"We have a guest, and she gets first pick." Loki told him. I hid my laugh behind my hand as Pietro looked around.
"Oh," he mumbled.
"You'll have to excuse my brothers manners." Wanda said as she walked over to greet Pepper. She didn't miss the fact that Tony's arm was around Peppers waist. The twins still didn't like Tony. It was getting better, but they still tried to stay away from him.

"You must be Wanda." Pepper smiled, but didn't offer her hand. She knew how the Maximoff twins felt about Tony and didn't want to make her uncomfortable. "I'm Pepper Potts, it's nice to meet both of you."
Wanda smiled slightly and nodded before joining Pietro over on the couch. Pepper frowned slightly at the twins and how they excluded themselves in order to distance themselves from Tony. I gave her an encouraging smile and grabbed her hand, pulling her over to the boxes of food.
We all sat at the table, Vision phasing through the room halfway through dinner to join the conversation. At the end of dinner, we all just sat around to continue talking and laughing.
"So, Sammee, I want wedding details." Pepper finally said, making everyone look at me, including Loki. I smiled and shook my head.
"I don't have any, yet. All I know is that I want an Asgardian wedding." I explained. Loki smiled proudly at my answer.
"An Asgardian wedding?" Thor asked in excitement and surprise.
"What's wrong with our weddings?" Tony asked, slightly offended. I raised an eyebrow at him.
"50% of marriages here end in divorce. There's no meaning to them anymore." I explained.
"And there's meaning in Asgardian weddings?" Tony asked skeptically.
"Absolutely," Thor said, "there is great meaning in our marriage ceremonies. I'm just surprised Loki was able to talk you into it. Especially with it being a royal wedding."
"I didn't talk her into anything, Thor. Sammee decided it on her own." Loki told him.
"So, does that mean you'll get married on Asgard?" Steve asked. I shrugged and glanced at Loki. His hand was on my thigh and he squeezed my leg, giving me comfort.
"Well, I'd love to have it on Asgard, but I don't know if Odin would-" I froze and started getting worried. "Wait, doesn't Odin have to approve a royal wedding?" I asked and turned to look at Loki again. "What if he refuses? What if he strips you of your title again?"
Loki frowned slightly and traced his fingers against my inner thigh, trying to calm me down.
"Leave that to mother." Thor dismissed. "She knew you two would get married sooner or later. I'm pretty sure she already has your dress picked out." He told me, but instead of calming me, it did the opposite. I gasped as my eyes went wide.
"Oh, my god, Frigga! We haven't told her. She should have been the first person I told!"
"Calm down, Love. I'm sure she knows. Mother is probably already planning everything herself." Loki chuckled lightly at the thought of his mother.
"But, we should have been the ones to tell her." I groaned and rested my forehead against the cold table.
"It not like we can go back to Asgard with whatever Odin's planning." Loki said and ran his fingers through my hair.
"I officially hate your father." I grumbled and both Thor and Loki laughed.
"Wait, why can't you go back to Asgard?" Natasha asked. I huffed and sat up.
"The problem isn't that I can't go back, it's that Odin won't let me leave if I do." I explained.
"What? Why?" Pepper questioned and I glanced at Thor, wanting him to explain.
"For some reason, Odin believes that Samme is Asgard's future. He senses a power in her that he thinks will strengthen Asgard. We just don't exactly know what he means by that." Thor told everyone. "But, from what he's implying..." Thor trailed off and glanced up at Loki who looked pissed.
"You've got to be kidding me!" Pepper gasped. "He wants you to marry Thor?" She asked. Everyone, but Steve, looked at Thor in shock. Steve already knew from when we told him months ago.
"Is he crazy?" Natasha asked.
"That's what I said!" I told her. "Just... not as nicely." I added. By now, the Maximoff twins had walked over to join the conversation.
"Wait, so what's keeping him from getting impatient and coming down to drag you back to Asgard?" Pietro asked.
"Our mother, Queen Frigga." Loki spoke, a slight edge to his words. "But, not even she could disobey a direct order from the Allfather."
"We've got him to stay away for now, but I'm not exactly sure how much longer he will." Thor told us. "Maybe I should go back to Asgard just to keep an eye on things." He suggested.
"That's probably a good idea, Thor." Steve agreed.
"Would we even stand a chance over the Asgardian army?" Tony asked.
"No." Loki, Thor, and I said at the same time.
"And, it doesn't matter. There's no way I'm having you guys fight to save me." I told them sternly. "I'm one person. A war with Asgard could kill millions."
I could tell that Steve and Tony wanted to protest, but they knew I was right. There was no way they could put Earth in danger to protect one person. It was not like Odin was going to kill me. I would be perfect fine. "Let's not think about hypotheticals right now." I dismissed. "Why don't we change the subject."
