《As You Wish : Loki Fanfic》Lying

"Answer me, Loki." I said when Loki only blinked up at me. He took a deep breath before shaking his head slightly.
"I would, kitten, but I have no idea what you're referring to." Loki told me and stood up.
"Our bathroom mirror, you told me that you had it replaced because you cut yourself on the glass." I explained with a controlled calmness. "I didn't even think to question it..." I added in a whisper. Loki was quiet for a second before stepping forward.
"Ok, I might have... not told you the exact truth." He said slowly, not looking at me. I waited for an explanation. "I... let my emotions get the better of me for a moment... and broke the mirror."
When Loki finished talking, he finally looked up at me. For some reason it still felt wrong, but, logically, there was nothing to hint at why I felt like that.
"Why didn't you just tell me?" I asked him. He sighed and turned to throw the glass in his hand away before coming back to me. His hands rested on the counter on either side of my body, trapping me in.
"Because it was a moment of weakness and I didn't want you to think that-" he cut himself off with another frustrated sigh.
"What?" I asked, but softened my words. "That you still have issues controlling your emotions? Loki I already knew that. A broken mirror isn't going to hurt anything." I told him. "But, lying about it?" I shook my head. He looked down before nodding and glancing back up at me.
"I guess I just didn't want to disappoint you." He explained, making me smile.
"You should know by now, there isn't much you can do that I won't understand, or forgive."

Loki huffed out a laugh before smiling softly at me.
"You're right, I should know that by now." He said and leaned forward to kiss me. His lips were hesitant as they pressed against mine. "Though, I am the god of lies, I shouldn't have lied to you. Forgive me?"
I fought the feeling in my chest and gave him a soft smile. I placed my hand on his cheek before leaning in and kissing him. Loki was still hesitant with the kiss for a few seconds. He then relaxed, as his hands found my waist, and finally kissed me back.
"Why don't you eat and start practicing for your Asgardian lesson." Loki told me when he pulled back. "I have to speak to Stark and finish cleaning this before I join you."
"What do you need Tony for?" I asked curiously. Even though Loki was a trusted member of the team, he and Tony didn't get along. If they did, it wasn't for long.
"I just want to ask him a few things about our new living quarters." He said casually and picked me up to carry me over the broken glass. He set me down at our small kitchen table before giving me a quick kiss and turning back to the kitchen. He brought my plate over and got me a new glass of water before cleaning the shattered one.
I watched him for a few minutes. I couldn't help but smile at how... domestic it all was. When I was done eating, Loki took my plate and shooed me off to start practicing my Asgardian. I reluctantly agreed and went into our bedroom, sitting on the red sofa and opening my notebook.
I started copying the Asgardian alphabet over and over again until my hand cramped. It had been a little over half an hour and Loki still wasn't back.

I stood suddenly and turned in a circle, looking for... anything. Anything that told me what this voice was.
"Hello?" I called out. I felt insane talking to no one, but I couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. "I know you're there. I just heard you."
I cringed and covered my ears at the sound of a high pitched laugh. It sounded completely wrong, like nails on a chalkboard.
The odd voice said.
I saw a shadow pass in the reflection of the window and spun to face it. All I saw was me in the reflection. I swallowed and tried to calm my breathing as I continued to look around.
"Why would I need help?" I asked and teleported the knife I kept under my mattress into my hand.
The voice hissed.
"Who?" I asked and turned when I saw another shadow in the corner of my vision.
I jumped when the door opened suddenly and tightened my grip on the knife. When Loki stepped into the room, I let out a loud, relived sigh and quickly dropped the knife, kicking it under the couch.
"Why aren't you studying?" Loki asked as he closed the door behind him.
"I was just about to come looking for you. I thought you might have finally snapped and killed Tony." I laughed lightly.
"No," Loki shook his head and smirked slightly, "not yet, at least."
"Not yet?" I asked. "Is there something I should know?" I teased and raised a brow at him. He folded his hands behind his back before answering.
"No, because then you'd be an accomplice and we can't have that." Loki told me and slowly walked to where I was standing.
"Hmm, I thought the whole 'till death do us part' made me an automatic accomplice?" I hummed and held up my hand to look at my ring.
"That's only after the wedding, Darling, plus, Asgardian vows are much different." Loki said and grabbed my waist, pulling me to him to place a kiss on my forehead.
"Asgardian vows don't have a 'till death do us part'?" I asked and looked away from the green gemstone in my ring to look at Loki. His eyes were the same color as the gemstone. That might have been why I loved it so much.
"No," Loki shook his head, "Asgardian vows account for the afterlife, too." He explained. "Marriage reinforces the binding between two souls. That doesn't end with our death in the material world."
I stayed quiet and listened to his explanation on marriage. Marriage on earth didn't mean much anymore. People, too easily, fell out of love and divorced, but divorce wasn't a thing on Asgard. Marriage meant so much more to Loki than it originally meant for me.
"Unless, you want a traditional Midgardian wedding?" Loki asked. I quickly shook my head and bit my lip in a poor attempt to hide my smile.
"No," I told him. "Our weddings don't hold any real meaning anymore. Most get married out of convenience now. I... I want it to mean something for us."
Loki smiled just as wide as when I had accepted his proposal. He rested his forehead against mine and pulled my body flush against his.
"As you wish."
