《As You Wish : Loki Fanfic》Creeping Doubts

The one thing I hoped was the same at the new compound was the baths. The baths in Avengers tower were fucking incredible. They perfectly fit two people with plenty of room to spare.
I sat with my back against Loki's chest, listening to the water fill the tub and the sound of his voice as he read the third Harry Potter book to me. Everything was perfect, except that I kept having that weird feeling pass over me. I didn't know what was triggering it. The feeling was random and quick, only lasting for a second or two. It was unsettling, but I didn't know why.
"I think we've been here long enough." Loki mentioned and kissed the top of my head. "We should get out. You need to eat."
I huffed and sunk lower into the water, a silent protest. Loki chuckled at me and squeezed me harder against him before kissing my shoulder.
"Come on." Loki told me and sat me up, so he could get out. "You dry off and get dressed." He said as he grabbed a towel and set it on the side of the tub for me. He didn't need one. Once he was out of the bath, a green light flashed over him. In a second, he was completely dry and dressed. "I'll start dinner."
Loki leaned down and kissed my lips one more time before leaving the bathroom. I took a few more minutes just to sit by myself. That unsettling feeling didn't go away. If anything, it got stronger and more frequent when Loki left. It was making me feel sick, and jittery. I couldn't wait to start the antidepressants. They might actually stop whatever weird thing was going on with me.
After about five minutes, I drained the tub and stepped out to dry myself. When I was done, I wrapped the fluffy, white towel around my body and tucked the end. I took a step toward the door, but felt a splash where my foot hit the tile. I glanced down to see water all over the floor and looked around for the source. It wasn't the tub, or the sink. I moved to check the shower and toilet, but froze when I saw red blobs start to appear in the water. How the red moved in the water was strange.

More and more patches of red appeared and slowly spread until it completely mixed with the water. That horrible feeling passed over me again and I teleported out of the bathroom. My heart was hammering so hard I could hear it in my ears. I let myself take a few breaths before slowly walking back to the bathroom door and cracking it open.
It was as if nothing happened. No red tinted water on the floor. No mess, nothing but a perfectly clean bathroom. I blinked a few times and opened the door a bit wider.
"What's wrong?"
I jumped when Loki spoke and turned to him, placing my hand over my heart to try and calm its wild beating.
"Jesus, Loki!" I scolded him and looked back to the bathroom.
"What's wrong, Love?" Loki asked, completely ignoring the fact that he scared the hell out of me.
"Nothing," I sighed and turned the bathroom light off before shutting the door.
"You're shaking." He told me and touched my shoulder.
"Maybe because you just scared the shit out of me." I half laughed to lighten the mood. I turned to look at Loki to see that he was watching me with a frown.
"You were scared before that." He shook his head. "Scared enough for it to come through the bond." He mentioned and stepped closer to me. He lightly ran his fingers up and down my arm while he watched me.
"It was nothing." I told him and shook my head. "I just freaked myself out. Probably thinking too hard or something." I explained. "I'm fine, don't worry." I said and leaned forward to give him a quick kiss before turning to the closet and getting dressed.
"Alright, well... dinners almost done." Loki told me. I could hear the hesitation in his voice.

"Be out in a second!" I called out to him. I put on simple black sleep shorts and a sky blue tank top before joining Loki in the kitchen. He made us spaghetti since it was simple and about the only thing he knew how to make.
"Are you sure you're alright, Dearheart?" He asked again as I sat down in one of the high top chairs at the kitchen island.
"Seriously, Loki, it was nothing." I assured him and smiled as he set my plate in front of me and turned to get me a drink.
"Can you at least tell me what scared you?" He asked while filling up a glass of water from the fridge filter. I sighed before giving in and telling him.
"I thought the bathroom flooded for a second, but it was just my eyes playing tricks on me."
"... why would that scare you so much?" Loki asked carefully and turned to look at me.
"Oh, because the water started turning red." I told him.
The glass in Loki's hand shattered as his hand clenched around it. Water and glass fell to the floor while Loki stood there, frozen.
"Loki!" I yelled and jumped out of my seat, making my way around the island. I made sure to step around the broken glass before grabbing his hand. I was worried that he hurt himself on the broken glass, but his hand was perfectly fine. There were some indents where the glass pressed against his skin, but there weren't any cuts. I sighed and relaxed my shoulder before looking up at Loki. He looked like he was deep in thought, trying to figure something out. "You're lucky you didn't cut yourself." I scolded him.
Loki blinked out of his trance and glanced down at me.
"Huh?" He mumbled before looking at his hand and then the floor. "Oh, you know something as simple as glass can't cut me." He shook his head and pulled his hand away from me. "But, it could cut you, so out while I clean this up." He said and picked me up, setting me down on top of the counter.
I jumped at the distorted voice in my head. It sounded like someone yelling from behind a wall, or a locked room. It immediately sent chills down my spine.
I was frozen. I didn't know what to do. The voice was angry and every time I heard it, a slight pain spiked through my skull.
The voice demanded and I winced.
The mirror... what? What was it... then I realized that the voice was right. Loki told me that he replaced the bathroom mirror because he cut himself of the sharp edge. Glass couldn't cut him, I knew that. Most blades couldn't cut him unless the metal was strong enough. The only reason the bullets Ultron shot at him pierced his skin was because they were made to pierce through three feet of concrete... but glass...
"Loki..." I said in almost a whisper. He looked up at me from where he was picking up the shattered glass. "Then how did you cut yourself on the mirror?"

Where She Belongs
