《As You Wish : Loki Fanfic》Comfort Zones

I only took Tony's Ironman suit down four times before it learned my fighting patterns and started kicking my ass right back. I noticed how it avoided my stomach and bandaged left arm, though. My fighting style was specially created by HYDRA based on a number of different things. Height and weight being one of the things taken into account. It also meant that I drew inspiration from all different fighting styles until I had my very own. Where Steve and Bucky could run head first into a fight and rely mostly on their strength, I took a longer approach. The long game, if you will.
I liked to watch my opponent first to observe how they carried themselves through a fight. If that meant I had to throw a few punches, take a hit or two, then so be it. Unfortunately for me, Tony's suit didn't do that. His suit changed and adapted its fighting style to specifically counteract its opponent, where as people were stubborn and liked to stick to their comfort zones when it came to fighting.
I took a water break, after getting pinned again, but it was mostly to come up with a strategy. I would have to go out of my comfort zone to beat Tony's suit. It was honestly a great training exercise for me. I thought of Nat's fighting style, mostly a mix of Tae Keon Do, Karate, and Jiu-Jitsu. With my teleportation, I mainly focused on takedown instead of defense, not that I didn't also know a lot of defensive moves as well. With hand-to-hand, my style stayed more in the realm of Muay Thai and Boxing. For self defense, both Natasha and I used mainly jiu-jitsu and aikido. Since she couldn't teleport, Natasha knew more about how to keep attackers away and waited until they left themselves open. I didn't have to do that. I just had to teleport around them to get an opening.

"Yo, Skydive, what's taking so long?" Tony called out to me. I put my water down and turned to face him.
"I'm strategizing." I told him and wandered back onto the mat.
"Good luck with that." Tony almost laughed, making me determined to take his suit down. "Ready?" He asked me. I nodded and got into a typical defensive stance.
Every other round, the Ironman suit waited for me to attack first, not this round. This round the suit ran straight for me. I would be lying if I said that a metal man running toward me didn't scare the shit out of me. I put most of my weight on my back leg, so I could dodge, keeping the Ironman suit away and waiting for an opening.
That opening came when the suit made the mistake of giving me its back. Once I had the opening, I easily used a combination of jiu-jitsu moves to get the advantage and take the suit down. When the shoulders of the Ironman suit hit the mat, the round was over and I had won.
"How did you do that?" Tony shot up from his seat and looked at me as I straddled his suit. I shrugged and pushed off the floor, getting to me feet.
"You're suit left an opening. Don't blame me for taking it." I told him before I yawned. "And... I think I'm done for the night. Thanks for tiring me out. Maybe I can get some actual sleep now."
I started to take the gloves off, but looked down when one of them snagged.
"Oh, shit." I sighed. My ring had gotten caught and ripped a hole in the glove. "Im sorry, Tony. I should have taken it off before putting the gloves on." I apologized and held out the gloves to him.

"Don't worry about it I've got plenty-" he started to take the gloves from my hand, but stopped and looked at my ring. "Uh, I think you have that on the wrong finger. Don't you normally wear it on your middle finger?"
"Oh, that's right! You ran off before I could tell you my good news." I excitedly said and held up my left hand. "Im getting married." I beamed. Tony just stared at me like I'd grown a second head.
"Uh-huh... what, now?" He asked and raised his eyebrow at me, suddenly looking very serious.
"I'm... Uhm... getting married?" I told him, or rather squeaked at him, again.
"To whom?" Tony questioned and stepped closer to me.
"Who do you think?" I shot back, feeling very defensive. "God, what is with everybody? First Steve was acting weird, then Thor, and now you?" I crossed my arms over my chest and matched his hard stare. "What, am I not allowed to get married? We've been together for years! Why is everyone acting like I made a spur of the moment decision? Loki and I have talked about marriage before. None of you were pissy then."
Tony looked at me for a few minutes as he thought. He then sighed deeply and nodded slightly.
"You're sure this is what you want? Loki didn't force the issue?" Tony finally asked. I blinked stupidly at him for a minute.
"Why would Loki force the issue? He always takes my wants into account."
I didn't miss the slight wince at my words, making me that much more confused.
"I said yes on my own." I told him in a tone that let him know I was sure of my decision. He nodded once more and looked at my ring again.
"As long as you're happy and this is what you want, then congratulations." Tony said, but it was like he was forcing the words out. He didn't mean them. They weren't genuine.
"Ya, thanks." I dismissed and walked over the the bench to grab my water bottle. "Night, Tony."
I teleported to my bathroom without another word and changed out of the tracking suit. I ran a quick shower and washed the sweat from my hair and body. When I was done, I dried myself with a towel, applied lotion to my skin, and wrapped said towel around my body. I stared at myself in the mirror and looked at all the scars I'd accumulated over the years. I'd been here for over three years now, and I'd dated Loki for just about as long. It was my longest and most successful relationship.
I looked down at my left hand, letting the light hit my ring just right to make it glint off, and sighed. This was what I wanted. I quickly brushed my hair, and was about to brush my teeth, when I saw something reflective in the sink. I furrowed my brows and set my toothbrush aside as I tried to see what was bouncing the light back. Whatever it was was caught between the rubber stopper and the metal cap of the sinks drain.
I was able to work it out with my fingernail and held it up to see what it was. I recognized it almost immediately.
...It was a small sliver of glass...
