《As You Wish : Loki Fanfic》Surprise and Anger

The strange interactions didn't stop with Tony. I found Steve and Natasha in one of the computer labs. Nat was typing away on the keyboard while Steve looked over her shoulder to see what she was doing.
"I have news!" I announced immediately. I needed to tell somebody else about my engagement. Natasha and Steve both turned and looked at me for a moment before Nat broke out into a hesitant smile.
"You're awake!" Nat beamed at me and stood up to hug me.
"I am." I laughed as her arms went around me for a quick hug. Natasha wasn't a cuddly person. She liked her personal space, but on rare occasions she'd give a hug or two.
"How are you feeling?" Natasha asked and took a step back. I couldn't stop the giant grin that my lips pulled into.
"Amazing!" I told her and held out my left hand so she could see the ring. Her eyes went wide as she looked down at my hand. I giggled when she grabbed it to get a closer look at the ring. "I'm getting married." I said, barely containing my excitement.
"Holy shit." She gasped and glanced at Steve who was frowning while staring at my hand. Nat quickly elbowed him in the side and Steve cleared his throat as he snapped out of whatever trance he was in.
"T-thats- wow..." Steve told me as he smiled at me. "Are you sure you're ready for that?" He asked. I shrugged and pulled my hand from Nat's as I admired the ring. It obviously wasn't the first time I had seen it, but the new meaning it had made me want to keep staring at it.
"I think so. I mean, I wanted to wait until after the last movie, but I think I changed my mind after seeing Loki get hurt." I smiled softly. "Loki's mentioned marriage before, but I think I was just scared something bad would happen. I didn't want to leave him widowed if something happened to me."

"So you've thought about this then? Like actually thought it through?" Steve asked. I furrowed my brow at his question.
"Of course." I laughed awkwardly.
"Well, we're happy for you." Nat told me, bringing my attention back to her. "Right, Steve?" She asked him in a way that meant there was only one correct answer.
"Of course we're happy for you." Steve nodded. His smile still looked a little off, but it might have been my imagination.
"Thank you!" I smiled at both of them. "Now, I have to go and tell the others. Do you know where they are?" I asked.
"I think they're just starting to make dinner." Nat told me.
"Dinner?" I questioned. Clint was the only other one that knew how to cook, besides me, but he was at the farmhouse. Natasha must have read my mind with what she said next.
"Wanda's cooking. She pretty good at it, too." Nat explained. I definitely should have known that.
"Right!" I beamed. "I forgot shes here now." I said before my smile fell. "And... Pietro?" I asked hesitantly.
"He should be down there, too." Nat told me. A wave of relief washed over me and my shoulders dropped from their tense position.
"Oh, thank god." I sighed out. Steve tilted his head at me curiously.
"Is something going to happen to Pietro?" Steve asked.
"He was supposed to die in the battle." Natasha answered Steve before I could. I looked at her and furrowed my brow.
"How did you know that?" I asked. She turned back to me quickly with a tight smile. "Did I tell you that?" I asked her.
"Oh, you must not remember." She laughed casually. "Ya, you did. Right before your surgery." Nat explained.
"Oh." I hummed and nodded. "Sorry, Loki said that I crashed since my energy levels were so low. I don't remember much after Sokovia." I mentioned with a nonchalant shrug. "Anyway, I'm gonna go find the others." I told them with a smile and turned for the door.

"Wait!" Steve called to me. I glanced at him over my shoulder before turning to face him. "You're going to tell Thor?" He asked.
"Yes?" I questioned. "Why?"
"It- Its nothing." Natasha interrupted Steve with a shake of her head as she reassured me. "He's just been in a weird mood since you and Loki got hurt." She explained.
"Oh," I nodded. "Ok, thanks for the heads up."
I left them to get back to whatever they were doing and headed for the elevator. I would have asked them what they were working on, but I only had an hour before my Asgardian lessons with Loki, and I had already spent about half of it.
The elevator dinged as I finally made it to the common room. The air smelled like fresh spices and deliciousness. Whatever Wanda was making, I knew it would be good.
Pietro was the first person I saw. He was on the couch trying to throw tiny paper balls into a foam cup that sat on the coffee table. Thor and Vision came into view next as I walked further into the room. They were standing over by the dining table, having a hushed conversation. Pietro looked up from his game and immediately stood from his seat when he saw me.
"Thor!" He called over his shoulder without taking his eyes off me. Thor and Visions conversation came to a halt when Thor saw me.
"Hey, guys." I smiled at them. "Looks like I lived to see another battle." I joked. Thor's eyes lit up as he made his way over to me. His body basically engulfed mine when his arms went around me. Not only was his hug a tight one, but he fully picked me up off the ground.
"Sister..." Thor sighed out in relief as me set be down. "Do you feel alright?" He asked me without releasing me from his arms. I pulled back from him and nodded.
"I feel fucking fantastic." I told him. "How's everyone here? What did I miss?"
"Not much." Pietro said quickly, almost too quickly, even for him. Wanda finally walked into the living room to say hello while she wiped her hands off on a kitchen towel.
"I'm so glad you guys are staying with us." I told Pietro and Wanda. "Now the boys will have someone else to bother when they want food made." I teased. "Dinner smells amazing, by the way."
"Thanks," Wanda smiled nervously. "It should be ready in about and hour."
"Perfect, do you need any help?" I asked.
"No, all I'm doing is making dessert right now."
"Dessert, too" I gasped. " A goddess!" I announced dramatically, making her blush.
"Are you sure you're alight, Sister?" Thor asked again. I looked at him with confusion and nodded.
"Of course. I'm more than alright, actually." I explained and held up my hand for him to see the ring perfectly placed on my left ring finger.
Thor's worried expression dropped immediately as he looked at the ring. The longer he looked, the more angry his blank expression turned. My smile dropped as I watched him head for the elevator without saying anything.
"Uh-wa- Thor?" I called after him and moved to catch up. "What's wrong?"
"Just need to have a conversation with my brother, is all." Thor responded while he stepped onto the elevator.
"But, why do you look angry? Didn't you want this?" I asked in a small voice. If he said no, It would hurt... badly.
"I do, but-" he cut himself off with a frustrated growl. "It's hard to explain." He ended up telling me.
"Then try." I told him. Thor's jaw tightened, but he was saved when the doors to the elevator opened to my floor. He didn't say another word to me as he stepped off the elevator in pursuit off Loki.
