Loki's POV

When I left Thor I headed straight for the elevator. I instinctively hit the button to my and Sammee's floor. The doors of the elevator opened to our floor after a few seconds. I stepped out and folded my hands behind my back. My head hung low and I watched every step I took as I headed to our room.

I couldn't get my head around Sammee thinking I didn't want her to be the mother of my children. Maybe she didn't tell me because she was scared of what I might do to her. Just the thought broke my heart. I continued walking down the hall until something on the floor stopped me.

There was dried blood dripped on the floor. Some of the drips were perfectly round while others looked to be smeared. It looked like someone could have walked through it. The trail lead me to the bedroom and the closer I got, the more blood I found. It increased in volume after I opened the bedroom door. Whatever happened must have started in the bathroom. My heart rate picked up the closer I got. My chest started to ache.

The door to the bathroom looked to be blown open and was disconnected off of its first two hinges. When I got to the doorway, I froze. The bathroom had blood everywhere. Our bathroom. Her blood. The mirror was shattered. The same mirror that we looked into every morning, catching each others eye as we got ready for the day. She would always smile at me when we did. Not even the mirror could capture her beauty when she smiled.

There was shattered glass everywhere, but there was only one that was drenched in dried blood. I choked out a sob and fell to one knee. I couldn't catch my breath and my chest started to feel tight. I felt like I was dying. My hand clutched onto the door frame to keep me upright. The other hand was on the ground, between my knees to keep me steady.

"Loki, I know you said-" Thor's annoying voice tore through the room, but he stopped when he saw me on the floor.

I was struggling to keep control. I was usually very good at hiding what I was feeling, from everyone but Sammee, that was. How could she have chosen to leave me? Did I mean so little? It was less than a fetus and yet she chose it instead of me...

"Oh..." Thor mumbled in quiet horror. "I-eh-I thought Stark had everything cleaned. I'm so sorry. You can use my facilities for now." When I didn't turn around, Thor inched forward. "Loki?" He asked.

I didn't move. I knew that I would lose some control. It was already starting to slip through my fingers.

"Loki?" Thor asked again. He crouched next to me and waited for an answer. All I could do was shake my head. "Let's go to my floor. I'll have Stark get this cleaned immediately."

"How-" I started but cut myself off. For the first time in a long time, I didn't know what to do. I had no idea how to fix anything about this. "How did this happen?" I asked without being able to take my eyes off the blood... so much blood. How did she survive this?

"She was left alone for a little over ten minutes." Stark joined the conversation. I turned my head to see that he was leaning against the doorframe of the bedroom, making sure to not look toward the bathroom, at all the blood. "She was supposed to have someone with her, but we were too busy arguing over the treatment plan Dr. Raynor wanted to start." Tony sighed and leaned his head back against the wall. His mind seemed to be flashing back to everything that happened that day. "It was only ten minutes..." he repeated before picking his head up and pushing off the wall. "It-Uh- looks like a lot of blood, but there was also a lot of water, so it only looks like a lot. The water just thinned it out."

I stared at Strark's horrible attempt at helping. I did appreciate that he tried, though.

"Who found her?" I asked.

"That would be me and I don't wanna talk about it." Stark said quickly, not missing a beat. "Now, the shrink and 'yee old witchy one', or whatever, are here to go over how to handle this. Now that you're up, I thought you'd want to have a say."

I was ashamed to say that I froze for a moment. I felt genuine fear. The kind I only felt whenever it came to Sammee.

"You don't have to." Thor told me and laid a hand on my shoulder. His touch jerked me from my fear and I stood, completely brushing off Thor's hand. Thor ignored it and stood with me. "Loki, it might be too soon. We need to discuss this in length."

"The only one that should be making decisions about Sammee, besides herself, is me." I snapped at him. "I'm going." I said finitely.

"Well, then it's settled, let's go." Stark told us before walking out the door. I glared at Thor for another second before turning and following Stark to the elevator. I didn't look to see if Thor was following, I didn't care.

"Who did you say we were meeting with again?" I asked. I wasn't familiar with the names, or nicknames, that Stark said. The elevator doors opened and Stark spoke as we stepped in.

"Dr. Raynor and a magician called the 'Ancient One'." Stark explained. I furrowed my brow as I thought back to what Thor told me earlier.

"Sorcerer." I corrected. "A magician deals with redirection, no real magic. Thor was telling me something about them. What do we know?" I asked.

"Nothing..." Stark sighed. "We know nothing." He leaned against the back of the elevator and crossed his arms over his chest. "As far as computers are concerned, she doesn't exist."

"She?" I asked. "And Sammee attacked this... Sorcerer?"

"For the Stone." Thor chimed in, announcing his presence since we got into the elevator. I nodded in understanding.

"So, she stopped Sammee-"

"Actually, Stark did." Thor surprised me by saying. I gave a confused glance at Thor before turning it on Stark. Stark didn't look at me. I believed he made it a note not to because his eyes were glued to the floor.

The elevator doors dinging open and all three of us started through into the room. As soon as we were off of the elevator, I stopped and folded my hands behind my back, the proper prince.

"Stark?" I called. Both Stark and Thor turned, but I only addressed Stark. "May I speak with you a moment?"

Stark looked worried and glanced at Thor, who was just as lost. Stark turned back to me and deeply exhaled. He then took the few steps to be in front of me again. I nodded slightly to thank him for agreeing. I glanced back up to see that Thor was still staring at us. I cleared my throat and raised my eyebrows at him.

"You can leave, Thor." I said flatly.

"Go on, Point Break. We'll catch up." Stark waved him off. Thor looked between Stark and me one last time before nodding and joining everyone else in the other room.

"I wanted to thank you." I said after a moment of silence.

"No need." Stark brushed off.

"There is every need." I corrected him. He didn't understand just how much I appreciated that he was there for Sammee. I never particularly liked Stark. Our personalities seemed to clash quite a bit, but I understood how much Sammee cared for him. She cared for all of them, but Stark and her had a different bond then she had with the others.

"She is my everything, and you saved her." I told him sincerely. It was hard for me to be the vulnerable with someone other than the few I chose to love, but this was worth the slight damage to my ego. "So, thank you."
