《As You Wish : Loki Fanfic》The Flight To Sokovia

"Ultron knows we're coming." Steve started his speech as we got closer to Novi Grad, Sokovia. "Odds are we'll be heading into heavy fire. And that's what we signed up for. But the people of Sokovia, they didn't." Steve told us. "So, our priority is getting them out. All they want is to live their lives in peace. And that's not gonna happen today. But we can do our best to protect them. And we can get the job done."
I looked around at everyone's faces. They were grim. They knew this was going to be a trying battle.
"We find out what Ultron's been building, we find Romanoff, and we clear the field. Keep the fight between us." Cap continued. "Ultron thinks we're monsters. That we're what's wrong with the world. This isn't just about beating him. It's about whether he's right."
"He will never be right." I chimed in. "Not about you." I said. Steve flashed me a small smile and I smiled back. "Remember, if I give an order, follow it immediately."
"Why?" Pietro asked. "I thought he was in charge." He said and pointed at Steve. I glanced at Steve to see if he wanted me to explain, or if he wanted to.
"Sammee already knows how the battle will turn out." Steve explained.
"Like she knew we would join you." Wanda commented.
"Right." Steve nodded.
"If she knew about the battle, then why didn't she prevent it from happening all together?" Pietro asked accusingly.
"Because she can't tell us what will happen, or prevent the situation all together. That would create a... what do you call it?" Steve asked me.
"A butterfly or ripple effect." I supplied and took over. "Basically, time still wants to happen. There is nothing I can do to keep time from continuing. If I avoided this all together, then something else would happen, maybe even something worse." I explained. "And if I change too much, then I won't know what will happen in the future because the whole thing rippled and changed."
"And that's a bad thing?" Pietro asked.
"Yes," I nodded. "Very." I told him. "So, if I tell you to do something, don't question it, just do it."

"Why do you know this stuff?" Wanda asked.
"I'm from a universe where all of this happens in a movie." I explained.
"I don't believe you." Pietro told me. I looked at him and sighed.
"Over two years ago, I had someone infiltrate Strucker's lab to keep you safe throughout the experiments." I said.
"Who?" Wanda asked suspiciously. I looked over at Loki and he took a few steps toward me.
"You?" Wanda asked.
"No," Pietro shook his head. "I would have remembered you."
Loki glanced at me and I nodded at him. A green light passed over his body until Loki no longer looked like himself. The only thing that looked the same were his eyes.
"Dr. Edwards." Pietro mumbled.
"That's why I could never read your mind." Wanda said. Loki smiled fondly at her as the green light passed back over him, making him look like himself again.
"I put up a mind block." He told her. "But, if I hadn't, you'd be able to read me."
"I thought I was going crazy, thinking that there were three people I couldn't read." Wanda said.
"Three?" Bruce asked.
"Sammee." Wanda told him and gestured to me.
"Sammee can't do that." Tony said before turning his head to me. "You can't do that, right?" He asked in a lowered voice.
"No, I can't do that." I shook my head. "It must be something to do with being from a different universe." I shrugged.
"It's your connection to the Mind Stone." Vision informed us. We all turned to look at him.
"I don't... have a connection to the Mind Stone." I told him. Vision tilted his head at me with furrowed brows.
"Yes, you do. A very strong one, as well." He said.
"How?" Loki asked.
"I do not know the answer to that. All I know is that I am connected to Sammee through the Mind Stone." Vision told him. I stayed quiet as I racked my brain for reasons how. The fact that Vision looked at me first, as soon as he was out of the cradle, made sense now.
"Well, this is new information." Tony commented.
"You're tied to at least three Infinity Stones." Loki said. "That can't be a coincidence."

"I agree." Thor nodded. "I bet that's why father wants her." He added.
"What ever it is, we'll deal with it later." I interrupted. "We have to focus on Ultron, right now. Our main goal is evacuation. I want the majority focused on that."
"She's right, we'll figure it out later." Steve backed me. "Pietro, can you get to the police station and get them to help with the evacuation?"
"Easy." Pietro nodded.
"Wanda, work on getting as many people to leave their houses as possible." Steve said.
"Got it." Wanda agreed.
"Loki, I want you with her." I added.
"Why? Don't trust me to do my job?" Wanda challenged.
"That's not why, Wanda." I told her calmly.
"If she doesn't want help then I shouldn't-"
"Loki," I cut him off. "Please, it'll make me feel better if you're there to protect her if something goes wrong." I told him. Loki huffed and looked away from me with a small 'fine'.
"Thor, Bruce, you two go to the HYDRA base and find Natasha. See if you can find out what Ultron has been making, too." Steve told them. They both nodded at their mission. "Clint, you watch from above, make sure nothings coming at us while we deal with evacuation."
"Sure thing, Cap." Clint called back to him from the front where he was flying the jet.
"I'll help evacuation on the bridge." Steve continued. "Tony, Vision, I want you two looking for Ultron." He told them. "Sammee, I need you to go into as many of the larger buildings as possible and get people out."
"You got it." I nodded.
"Good." Cap sighed.
"Ten minutes out." Clint called back.
"Comms in." Steve announced. I put my hood up as everyone else, but Tony, put a comm in their ear. Tony just had to get into his Ironman suit. "Can everyone hear me?" Steve asked.
"Loud and clear."
"Yep."
"Yes."
"I can."
"Unfortunately."
Everyone said when they heard Steve.
"Tony, you can't just say 'yes' like everyone else?" Steve asked.
"That's boring." Tony replied.
"Of course." Steve scoffed sarcastically.
While they went on to bicker, I looked up at Loki. I was sitting and Loki was standing to my left. I reached up and tugged on his hand to get him to sit. He looked down at me with furrowed brows.
"Come on." I smiled. "Let me do your hair. This is too big of a battle for you to keep it down and in your face." I told him. He opened his mouth to probably tell me that he could do it himself, but I stopped him. "I want to." I said. "Please?"
He stared at me for a second before sighing and taking a seat in front of me. I smiled happily and leaned forward to kiss his cheek.
"Thank you, my prince." I told him before starting to braid his hair.
I French braided the top section, but didn't take the braid all the way down. I stopped adding hair at the crown of his head and finished braiding down the hair I had. This kept it out of his face, but still kept it long in the back.
Next, I made two small French braids on the sides of his head and stopped adding hair just after his ear. When I was done, Loki wore a Viking warrior hair style.
"What, are we at the salon?" Tony asked.
"It keeps it out of his face." I explained. "And, it makes it easier to do this." I said and pulled back on the braids. Loki's head tilted back enough for me to lean down and kiss him. His hand came up the side of my face to keep me still as he kissed me back.
"Hey, there are kids here!" Tony protested. I raised my hand and flipped him off. "I'm kicking you out." He told me. I kissed Loki one more time before pulling away.
"You're kicking everyone out." I rolled my eyes. "I want a kitchenette in our new room, by the way." I said. Letting him know that I already knew about the new Avengers Facility he was 'secretly' building.
"I can't surprise anyone anymore." Tony sighed.
"Two minutes." Clint warned.
"Alright," Steve told us. "Everyone ready?" He asked and looked around the room. "Let's do this."
