《As You Wish : Loki Fanfic》First To Know

After I finally got Loki to agree to leaving on the terms that I stayed out of all danger until he got back, I played upstairs with Lila for awhile. We played dress up and colored pictures for most of the morning. At around ten thirty, I got that familiar hungry pit in my stomach.

I excused myself from Lila's playroom and went downstairs in search of food. When I walked into the kitchen, Laura was standing at the counter eating a snack.

"Hey, sorry, I was just getting a bit hungry." I told her.

"Ah, well, then the kitchen is definitely the right place to look." She teased. "Help yourself."

"Thanks." I said kind of shyly. She still made me a little nervous... or a lot nervous. "Uhm, do you, by any chance, have vanilla yogurt?" I asked hopefully. She smiled at me and headed toward the fridge.

"I believe we do." Laura said and opened the fridge. I started looking for a bowl as she got the yogurt. I found one in the second cabinet I opened.

"Here you go." Laura told me and set the yogurt next to my bowl. "It's a brand new tub too."

I smiled at her in thanks when she gave me a spoon before I grabbed one of the bananas off the counter. My mind wandered as I peeled it and broke it into smaller pieces. When I was done with that, I quickly rinsed my hands off.

"You don't like me very much, do you?" Laura asked, not unkindly, just curious. I turned, surprised by her question.

"What?" I asked with wide eyes.

"I just- I noticed that you don't really look me in the eye and your kind of... nervous and jumpy around me." She gave me a sad smile. "Unless I completely misread the situation, then just ignore me." Laura told me and held up her hands.

I blinked stupidly for a minute. I didn't even realize that I wasn't looking at her in the eyes at all.

"No, no, you completely misread it." I laughed nervously. "Oh! I mean, not that I haven't been looking at you in the eyes, or that I'm nervous around you." I told her quickly. "But, it's not because I don't like you. It's the complete opposite, actually." I explained.

"O-oh..." Laura's look of surprise clued me into what I just admitted to. I watched a slight blush color her cheeks as I felt my own burn bright.

"I mean-" I huffed at myself and shut my eyes tight, trying to figure out how to get myself out of this. The last thing I needed was for Clint to know that I had a crush on his, very pregnant, wife.

"No, it's ok. I don't judge. I'm just surprised." She told me. I groaned and opened my eyes.

"It's not you, exactly." I tried again. "You know how I'm from a different universe?" I asked, but I knew Clint already told her everything.

"Clint explained." Laura nodded.

"Ok, so, in my world this is all a movie." I explained. "And the actress that played you was in another movie when I was younger where she was in this tight, red, leather, bodysuit." I said. "...She was kind of my gay awakening."

I paused and looked up from my rambling to gage her reaction.

"W-wow." Laura laughed. "Well, I'm honored. Even though it wasn't technically me." She told me. I sighed a laugh as I relaxed.

"I'm so sorry you felt like I didn't like you. I'm just a bit frazzled around you, is all." I explained.

"There's no need to apologize, I'm the one who read it wrong." She said.

I chuckled as I turned to open the vanilla yogurt. It still had the plastic seal I had to peal off. I pulled off the plastic and set it aside to scoop out some yogurt. As soon as I put the spoon into the yogurt, an overwhelming coconut smell hit me. My stomach immediately rolled and I knew I only had seconds. I couldn't teleport to the bathroom because I didn't know where it was, so I ran to the garage can to empty my stomach.

"Oh, my god. Are you ok?" Laura asked and hurried over to me. I held out my hand because I didn't want her coming any closer.

"I'm good." I gasped out while trying to take deep breaths to calm my stomach. "My body just hates me lately."

"Here." Laura said and handed me a glass of water.

I smiled gratefully at her before taking a large amount of water in my mouth and swishing it around before spitting it out in the sink. After my mouth was rinsed out, I took a few sips. I held my breath as I closed the yogurt and put it back into the fridge.

"The smell of coconut makes me sick." I explained. Since being pregnant, I found that coconut was the one thing I absolutely could not take. Luckily, there wasn't a lot of coconut at the tower, so it hadn't really been a problem before.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I've been getting sick from milk products lately, so I switched to coconut milk." Laura said.

"It's fine." I laughed. "You didn't know. I'm sorry I threw up in your garbage can." I told her and moved to tie the trash bag.

"Don't worry about it." She waved off. "With being pregnant three times, I can't count how many times I threw up in that trash..." she trailed off as her eyes widened. "Are you?" She asked and looked at my stomach. My eyes went just as wide as hers and I shook my head. "Sammee, are you pregnant?" Laura asked and looked back up at me. I was frozen at the question. "Oh, my god, you are." She deduced at my silence.

"Shh, Shh. Not so loud!" I panicked and looked out the window where all the guys were helping with chores, except Bruce who was upstairs with Natasha. "Please, you can't say anything." I told her desperately. After seeing how panicked I was, Laura frowned.

"Have you told anyone yet?" Laura asked. My eyes started to fill with panicked tears as my lip quivered. "Oh, honey." Laura sighed and wrapped me in a hug, which was hard because of how far her belly stuck out. "How far along are you?" She asked and pulled back. I shook my head and shrugged.

"I only found out last week." I told her. "It was shit timing, too." I wiped my eyes and tried to laugh, but it sounded sad. "I'm supposed to be fighting a war, not having a baby."

"So, you're- that's why you haven't told anyone." Laura figured out.

"They wouldn't let me help anymore." I sniffed. "I have to help. I can't just sit back as people die." My voice was a whisper as I spoke. "You can't tell anybody." I stressed.

"Alright," she said calmly and rubbed my arm. "It's ok, I won't." She told me.

"Thank you." I relaxed a bit. "Actually, now that you know, do you, uhm, know when I'm supposed to start prenatal vitamins and stuff?" I asked hesitantly.

"As soon as you can." Laura told me. "Here, Im almost out and already have another bottle." She said and opened a cabinet to pull the bottle out. "I'll just give you this one until you can get some yourself." She handed me a bottle with a few days worth of vitamins. I sighed as I looked at the label.

"You know " I started as I looked at the picture of a cartoon owl on the bottle, "this was supposed to be impossible." I told her. "Loki and I are different species. I wasn't supposed to get pregnant without the use of magic." I said.

"I'm... sorry to ask this, but are you sure he didn't-"

"Positive." I cut her off. "I know what people think of him, what you must think of him with what he did to Clint, but Loki would never take my choice away like that." I told her. "We just didn't take into consideration that I'm not from this universe. I'm different from every human on this earth."

"I don't think he's a bad person." Laura said. "I know it wasn't really his fault... but..."

"But it was still him." I finished for her. She nodded sadly.

"It'll just take some time." Laura told me.

"I know." I said. "I understand." I told her. Silence spread through the air and I got more and more uncomfortable. "Is it scary?" I asked to change the subject. "Having a kid?"

"Yes," she said truthfully. "But it's also the best thing to ever happen to me."

I smiled and looked down at my hands.

"I'm terrified I'm going to mess this up." I told her.

"Ya," she laughed. "That never goes away. You just have to do your best."

"But, what if my best isn't good enough?" I questioned.

"It will be." Laura told me. "I can tell. Your child is already loved."
