《As You Wish : Loki Fanfic》Midnight

For the rest of the party, Loki kept me by his side. He was constantly touching me and would pout if I tried to walk away from him. I might have tried to sneak away a few times just because I thought his pout was cute.
By midnight, the party was over and we were all gathered around the table eating Chinese food. The ones that stayed were Tony, Rhodey, Steve, Natasha, Bruce, Clint, Agent Hill, Dr. Cho, Thor, Loki, and me. I was trying to relax and enjoy watching one of my favorite scenes play out, but I couldn't. I knew Ultron would interrupt us at any minute.
"I'm surprised no one tried to steal the hammer." Clint commented as he twirled a drumstick between his fingers. Mjölnir had been sitting on the coffee table all night.
"Some tried to pick up Mjölnir, but they were not worthy." Thor laughed and shared his Asgardian mead with Steve.
"But, it's a trick." Clint said.
"No, no, it's much more than that." Thor told him.
"'Ah, whosever be he worthy shall haveth the power'." Clint said jokingly with a sarcastic accent and gestured to Mjölnir sitting on the table. "Whatever, man! It's a trick." Clint waved off while Thor laughed.
"I assure you, it's not." Loki added. Clint rolled his eyes at him.
"Please, be my guest." Thor told him, giving him permission to try and lift Mjölnir.
"Come on." Tony said, egging Clint on.
"Really?" Clint asked and started to get up.
"Ya." Tony nodded to Mjölnir.
"Oh, this is going to be beautiful." Rhodey added. Clint set his drumsticks down and stood in front of Mjölnir.
"Clint," Tony started. "You've had a hard week, getting thrown on your ass by speed racer and everything. We won't hold it against you if you can't get it up." Everyone laughed as Clint got ready.
"You know I've seen this before, right?" He asked Thor and gripped the handle. He grunted as he pulled, but the hammer didn't budge.

"Lift with your legs, not your back." I told him as I laughed. After another second, Clint gave up.
"I still don't know how you do it!" Clint told Thor and laughed.
"Smell the silent judgment?" Tony asked sarcastically.
"Please, Stark, by all means." Clint said and backed away from Mjölnir.
"Ya, Stark," I added. "Put your pride where your mouth is."
Tony stood and unbuttoned his suit jacket as he walked to the hammer.
"Ok," Agent Hill said.
"Uh-oh." Rhodey echoed. By this point, everyone was invested.
"Never one to shrink from an honest challenge." Tony said as he got into position.
"Get after it." Clint told him and sat back in his seat.
"It's physics." Tony said as everyone mumbled.
"Oh, is it?" I asked sarcastically.
"Physics." Clint repeated after Tony.
"Right, so, if I lift it, I then rule Asgard?" Tony turned and asked Thor.
"Yes, of course." Thor nodded.
"I will be reinstating prima nocta." Tony said and put a foot on the table to help him lift. He grunted as he pulled, but, again, the hammer didn't budge. "I'll be right back." Tony told us and walked away to get his Ironman hand on to help lift.
He came back two minutes later and tried again to lift the hammer, but he got the same result.
"What is this things trick?" Tony asked. "Rhodey, go get your suit and help me."
"A suit won't magically make you worthy." Loki taunted. Tony ignored him.
So then, Tony and Rhodey tried to lift the hammer together, with the aid of their machinery.
"Are you even pulling?" Rhodey frustratedly asked Tony.
"Are you on my team?" Tony shot back.
"Just represent, pull!" Rhodey responded. All the meanwhile, I was trying not to die laughing.
"All right, let's go." Tony said as he continued to try and lift Mjölnir.
It took them a while to give up and admit defeat. They then started going around the room to see if anyone could lift the hammer. It took a bit of convincing to get Bruce to try, but he eventually gave in.

"You got this, Bruce. Come on!" I cheered him on. Bruce gave me a small smile before glancing back at Natasha. Those two had been talking and flirting all night. He really wanted to impress her.
Bruce stood over Mjölnir and pulled as hard as he could. When it was clear he wasn't going to be able to pick it up, he released the hammer, but continued his yell, like he was turning into the Hulk. It was awkward, but the kind of awkward that happened with good friends.
"Good try, buddy." I told him to break the tension.
Up next was Steve. He stood from his spot next to Thor and walked up to the hammer. Agent Hill cheered as he stood and rolled up his sleeves.
"Go ahead, Steve. No pressure." Tony taunted.
"Come on, Cap." Clint said as Steve got into position.
"Watch closely." I whispered to Loki just before Steve pulled.
"Why, what's-" his words cut off when we saw Steve just barely move Mjölnir. "Did he just...?" Loki murmured.
"Yep." I smiled. We watched as he pulled at the handle and soon gave up. Steve released Mjölnir with a laugh and held his hands up in surrender. Thor laughed to hide his uneasiness at Steve almost lifting the hammer.
"Nothing." Thor chuckled and took a drink. Everyone turned to Nat next. Tony cleared his throat to get her attention.
"Widow?" Clint asked.
"Oh, no, no. That's not a question I need answered." Natasha told us and leaned back in her seat.
"So, that leaves two." Tony said and looked at me and Loki.
"We already know the answer." Loki told him.
"All deference to the man who wouldn't be king, but it's rigged." Tony said and stood to get another drink.
"You bet your ass." Clint agreed.
"Uh, Steve, he said a bad word." Agent Hill teased and pointed at Clint.
"Did you tell everyone about that?" Steve sighed at the rest of us.
"The handles imprinted, right?" Tony asked Thor, ignoring Steve. "Like a security code. Whosever carrying Thor's finger prints is, I think, the literal translation."
"Oh, how wrong you are." Loki chuckled.
"Yes," Thor said and stood up from his seat on the couch. "It's a very, very interesting theory. I have a simpler one." He explained and picked Mjölnir up. "You're simply not worthy." He told them and flipped Mjölnir in the air before catching it again. Everyone groaned at his answer.
I shook my head at them and told Loki I needed a refill. He kissed the side of my head before I stood up and teleported to the bar.
"But, watch this." I heard Thor say as I pretended to get a drink while waiting for Ultron to stumble in. I heard something fly through the air and turned just in time to catch Mjölnir.
"What... the... fuck..." Tony said. "How did you do that?"
"Thor... I'm going to kill you with your own hammer." I told him and roughly threw it back at him.
"Sammee is the only one who is worthy enough to wield Mjölnir." Thor said proudly.
"You've got to be kidding me!" Clint scoffed lightheartedly.
Before anyone else could speak, a loud, high-pitched screech pierced through the room. Tony looked down at his personal control tablet, thinking something was wrong with the speakers, as everyone else flinched. When the screech stopped, there was a clunking sound moving closer and closer to us.
"Worthy..." A grumbled voice, that made my stomach twist, said.
