《As You Wish : Loki Fanfic》Good Deed For The Week

It took three days for Tony to corner me. I had been avoiding him ever since I told him about his parents. Every time he walked into a room I was in I would quickly turn the other way. The last week was exhausting for me and I just didn't want to fight with him. I was tired of feeling guilty for things I didn't even do.

Today wasn't any different. I avoided Tony like the plague. That was until he caught me in the kitchen. I had a cup of hot chocolate in my hands and couldn't teleport because my cup was almost filled to the brim and would have spilled.

I still picked my drink up and tried to carefully fast walk away.

"Freeze, Skydive!" Tony called out. I immediately froze with my back to him. "Turn around." He ordered. My shoulders sagged as I sighed and turned slowly on the balls of my feet.

Tony, as expected, looked annoyed and upset. He had his hands on his hips and was wearing an old, worn out, long sleeved shirt with the sleeves pushed up. When I fully turned around and he saw my face, his expression turned apologetic.

"Kid, I'm not mad at you for telling me the truth. Will you stop running away from me?" Tony told me.

"I'm just... giving you space." I muttered.

"I don't need space. You did nothing wrong."

"I would have told you sooner, but I wanted Bucky to tell you himself. Once he worked through the memories, I mean." I explained.

"I'm glad it was you." Tony said. "I'm not sure how I would have reacted if he stood in front of me and told me how he murdered my mom."

I cringed a bit and Tony noticed. He sighed heavily and took a step closer to me.

"Was that in the movie, too?" Tony asked. "Did you see?" He was sad when he asked. Like he was sorry I had to have that memory. Only my memory was from a movie, not the real thing like Bucky's.

"Yes." I told him. "She didn't suffer." I said. I thought he might want to know. "It was fast. But HYDRA made sure your father saw the face of his killer." I explained. "I think the worst part was that they knew each other before. Bucky now has this memory of him killing a friend. Can you imagine that? Waking up one day and realizing that you had no control for the last seventy years? That you've killed people you knew?" I asked in a daze.

"No," Tony told me. "I can't imagine."

I looked back up at Tony to see him watching me seriously.

"Still, I'm kinda glad he's not here right now. I know he was brainwashed, or whatever, but it would be hard seeing him everyday. I don't think I could handle it." He said. "Not now at least."

I stayed quiet because I knew it was only going to get worse for him... and I hated that. He was a good man, or at least he tried to be. I hoped that I could change the outcome to his story. I refused to let him die. I refused to let him be taken away from Pepper and his future daughter, Morgan. Even if that meant sacrificing myself. I knew he would hate me if I did that though. Still wouldn't stop me.

"I'm sorry." I told him. I wasn't apologizing for Bucky, or for what Tony went through. I was apologizing for what I decided to do in that moment. If it came down to it, in the end, I would sacrifice myself for him. But he didn't understand that.

"Like I said, Skydive, It wasn't your fault. I'm not mad at you." Tony said with a dismissive wave of his hand. Instead of explaining my apology, I smiled and nodded.

"Thanks, Ironass. That means a lot to me." I said to lighten up the mood.

"Ok," Tony rolled his eyes. "That's my good deed for the week."

"Good deed?" I asked.

"Yep, get the kid to stop moping around the tower, check." He told me and checked off an invisible achievement. I scoffed.

"You know I'm not a kid, right?" I asked.

"No, actually. I don't know that." He commented. "You haven't told any of us your birthday, or what year you were born."

"That's because it doesn't matter here." I told him. "Well, my birthday stays the same, but I technically went back in time when I came here. My birth year won't match my age in this world, so it doesn't matter." I explained.

"Fine, whatever. Keep your age to yourself. At least tell me your birthday." Tony said.

"March 26th." I told him. I smiled just knowing that he was curious about my birthday.

"Noted." He said with a nod and turned to walk away.

"Wait a second." I called to him. The way he said 'noted' made it sound like he was up to something. Tony stopped and spun to look at me.

"What?" He feigned innocence. I narrowed my eyes at him.

"What are you up to?" I asked suspiciously.

"Now? Nothing. Why would you think I was up to something?" He asked me and tilted his head, waiting for an answer.

"Because you're always up to something." I responded.

"That is only true sometimes, but now is not one of those times. And even if it was, what makes you think I would tell you?" Tony questioned. I stayed quiet for a moment as I stared at him.

"Alright." I finally said in a way that let him know I did not believe him.

Tony slowly nodded once before turning back around and starting to walk away again. I watched him the entire time. I was definitely not letting it go. He was 100% up to something and I was going to find out what. Tony glanced over his shoulder at me as he left the room, but quickly looked away when he realized I was still watching him.

"Not up to anything, my ass!" I mumbled to myself before taking a sip of my now cold 'hot' chocolate.
