《As You Wish : Loki Fanfic》Men In Tights

It was morning by the time I got Bucky to stop apologizing and calm down. I stayed with him for almost two hours until he finally fell asleep again. I stared at the ceiling for a few minutes and listened to his heavy breaths before carefully unwrapping Bucky's arm from around my waist and getting out of the bed. I watched him for another minute at the door to make sure he was still asleep. I then gently closed the door behind me as silent as possible and heavily sighed.
Steve was sitting on the couch nervously tapping his foot, but when he saw me he jumped up and walked over to me. I noticed Loki was nowhere to be seen.
"Is he ok?" Steve asked me and glanced at the door like he wanted to check. I gave a tired smile and put a hand on his arm to lead him away from the door.
"He's fine, Steve, just resting." I told him. "Wake him up in exactly four hours if he isn't awake by then. You'll have to wake him every night now in four hour intervals. That should stop him from having night terrors."
"So he's asleep?" Steve asked while glancing back at the door.
"Yes," I said and stopped pulling him when we got to the red couch. I sat down heavily and rubbed my eyes. "If that happens again, make sure to come get me. He won't recognize you in that state. The only reason he didn't kill me is because both the Winter Soldier and Bucky trust me." I explained.
"You think they're two separate people too..." Steve said as he finally relaxed some and sat next to me on the couch.
"They are." I said. "And they're not." I frowned. "Bucky's mind basically created a split personality within his subconscious. The Soldier is cold and calculating, always ready for a fight. Always ready to follow orders. Bucky was never like that before HYDRA. After HYDRA he'll be a mix of both, but that means he gets both memories."

"He blames himself." Steve told me. I nodded.
"I know." I told him. "You know the one thing I wish I got to see in person was his smile." I said with a sad smile as I thought back to forties Bucky. "I actually got a small one out of him during D.C. It wasn't the same, but after all I went through just to get that tiny smile, it was the best thing I'd ever seen. "
"How much about Bucky was in the movies?" Steve asked.
"Not much." I said. "It was your movie, but everyone fell in love with Bucky."
"That sounds about right." Steve chuckled and looked down at his folded hands. "What about you?"
"I would have absolutely fallen for 1940's Bucky." I laughed. "But now's different." I sighed. "Actually knowing him and all... plus, after I met Loki I was done for." I scoffed and rolled my eyes.
"I'm glad they have you." Steve said.
"Can I ask you a something?" I asked after a second of silence.
"Sure." Steve answered and looked at me.
"What was Rebecca Barnes like?"
Steve was quiet for a minute as he thought.
"She was... bossy." He sighed with a small laugh. "Why do you ask?" Steve questioned and looked at me curiously.
"When I started to try and get Bucky back he thought I was her." I explained. "It happened a few times actually. I was just curious. I never knew much about her."
"It's your eyes." Steve told me. "And the way you smile. Now that you said something, I can see it." He continued. "Becca was strong. She was the oldest girl, so she had to be. She always helped Mrs. Barnes around the house. She was smart, too. Bucky was so proud when she made the honor roll at her school. I remember him buying her ice cream as a treat after the ceremony. It was hard on him when their parents died and they were all separated." Steve sighed. "But we were still kids, just outta highschool. There was no way he could take care of himself and his three siblings. Plus, he felt the need to take care of me since I was so scrawny. It would have never worked. He would have killed himself doing it. So, Rebecca and the younger two were sent to a girls boarding school while Bucky was sent to a family friend."

"He never got to see her grow up." I said sadly.
"No, she was sixteen the last time he saw her." Steve told me. "I can tell how attached he is to you, Loki too. Bucky still looks for you in every room we enter, making sure you're safe. And Loki... it's weird to see him actually smile at someone. I know he wasn't really behind New York, but I didn't see him as the 'in love' type."
"Me either." I said and couldn't help the smile on my lips. "I totally expected him to kill me when we first met. I probably would have been a little more cautious around him if I knew I wasn't dreaming back then. I'm glad it turned out this way though." I continued. "And the sex..." I groaned and laid back against the couch, smiling at Steve as he laughed.
"Ok, that I don't need to know about." He told me as he shook his head.
"Nat was right, you need to get laid." I scoffed lightheartedly.
"Nat said I needed a date." He corrected. I rolled my eyes.
"That's Nat's way of putting it nicely." I told him. "But stay away from Sharon." I added. "Woman gets on my nerves." I said and shivered just at the thought of her. I was definitely not a fan.
"What's wrong with Sharon?" Steve asked. I turned my head to look at him.
"Nothing and everything." I explained. "Just- I don't know- get Sam to be your wingman and go to a bar. Hell, I'm pretty good at playing wingwoman, but get back out there. Stop focusing so much on work."
"In case you have forgotten, our 'work' is pretty important."
"So is your personal life! Come on, you haven't had sex since, what, 1944?" I asked. Steve looked down and shook his head, but he had a small amused smile on his face. "I know for a fact you didn't go in the ice a virgin. I seem to remember a certain smiley blonde at one of your shows." I smirked. Steve groaned and ran a hand over his eyes. "Ooh ya, Cap. I saw that too." I laughed. "You look great in tights, by the way."
"Alright." He sighed at my teasing and stood from the couch.
"Wait, no. Don't go!" I said as he started walking away. "I was just getting started. You know what movie you would love? Robinhood: Men in Tights." I teased.
"Go get some sleep, Sammee." Steve called out as he continued walking.
"But I still have more. Peter Pan called, he wants his tights back."
"Bye, Sammee." Steve said as he shut his bedroom door.
I laughed to myself before getting an idea. I teleported to the kitchen on my floor before jumping onto the counter.
"Hey, JARVIS!" I called out.
"Yes, Ms. Sammee?" The polite A.I. answered.
"Could you find the campaign video of Steve from the 40's?" I asked.
