《As You Wish : Loki Fanfic》 Conference

It took three days and a lot of sleep before the doctors released me. Luckily, the pain meds kept the dreams away, so I actually had a restful few days of sleep. Steve had to stay because Loki refused to leave and if Steve was staying that meant Bucky stayed too. After my talk with Bucky he didn't fight with Loki anymore, but he by no means liked him. Sam went back to D.C. because he was still employed by the VA. He said to call if we needed him.

Nat visited on the third day and brought Fury with her. She was still dressed up from the interrogation she did for the government investigation into the D.C. incident. As soon as the door opened and she walked in, I frowned.

"Don't give me that look." She scolded as Fury walked in behind her.

"You couldn't have picked a random last name?" I asked. "What did I ever do to you to make you hate me?" I questioned sarcastically. Loki, who was sleeping in a chair next to me, squeezed my hand reflexively.

"You let metal man shoot me." She told me, referring to when Bucky shot her a few days ago at the bridge. I clicked my teeth and looked away from her.

"Fine." I huffed making her smile.

"Thanks for the warning." Fury said as he closed the door. He then pulled out a knife from his jacket and tossed it to me. I caught it easily and flipped it in my hand. 'Goose' was scratched in big letters into the blade.

"Thanks for not blowing my cover." I smiled and held up the knife. If he hadn't taken the blade with him, HYDRA would had known I was a double agent. "You heading to Europe?" I asked as I took in his casual appearance.

"Tonight." He answered. "Looking through all of HYDRA's files and noticed a lot of rats didn't go down with the ship. Wanted to ask if you'd come."

I smiled and looked out of my room window to see Steve sitting next to Bucky with a cup of coffee in his hand. Bucky was asleep next to him.

"Did you ask Cap yet?" I asked.

"Yep."

"And?" I looked back to Fury.

"He says there's something he needs to focus on first." Fury told me. I smiled and nodded as I glanced back over at Steve.

"That's my answer, too." I sighed.

"Alright then." Fury said and walked to the door. "If anybody asks about me-"

"I'll tell them to look in the cemetery." I finished. Most of the world still thought Fury was dead and he wanted to keep it that way. He nodded toward me before leaving the room and shutting the door behind him. "So," I started and looked back to Nat. "You're leaving too, huh?"

"Well, of course." She smirked at me and took a step closer to the bed. I smiled sadly back at her before glancing to where Loki's head was resting next to my hip.

"Have you told Clint yet?" I asked, referring to Loki.

"No," she said simply.

"Do you think he'll forgive him?"

"... I don't know." Natasha replied. I sighed and ran my fingers through Loki's hair before looking back at her.

"Why did you?" I asked. She opened her mouth to say something, but then stopped herself and thought for a minute.

"Because I see the way he is with you." She finally told me. "The way he looks at you, he is not the same man who attacked New York."

"He's not." I agreed.

"He loves you."

"Yes." I answered, even though it wasn't a question. I looked back to Loki and watched the steady rise and fall of his chest as he breathed.

"Leave it to the multi-dimensional traveler to get the god to fall in love with her." Natasha chuckled. I smiled back at her.

"So, where are you going to go?" I asked. Natasha shrugged her shoulders and crossed her arms.

"I'm not sure yet. I need to find a new identity. Guess I'll figure it out on the way." She told me.

"Good luck." I said with a sad smile. I wished she would stay at the tower with me. I didn't want to have to deal with Tony alone. I wanted another woman in the tower.

"You too." She smiled back at me before walking out of the room.

I was finally discharged around six pm and given some pain meds to take home. I assured everyone that I was fine before stealing Loki back to my room and locking the door.

Unfortunately for me, he wanted to wait for me to heal more before having sex. I asked him to just heal me, but he refused and reminded me that he couldn't heal my broken ribs. I think he was also using it as a punishment for getting hurt because he then explained, in vivid detail, exactly how we would spend that week once I was better. It was torture.

Tony continued to avoid me in the tower. The only place he couldn't avoid me was when we had a meeting. A few days after I got back to the tower, Steve called a meeting.

"We have a problem." He started. "The UN is requesting that we turn in Sammee and Bucky for their crimes against humanity."

My heart immediately picked up pace as my stomach clenched. I knew this was coming, but it still made me sick. I glanced across the table to look at Bucky who was looking down at his folded hands.

"And you told them no, right?" Loki asked dangerously.

"Of course I did, but they're not just going to let this go." Steve told him.

"She saved your stupid government. She saved them all from HYDRA." Loki said angrily.

"No," I stopped him. "I didn't. All I changed was the very end. James was meant to run away once he started to remember. All I did was make sure his memories didn't overwhelm him all at once. HYDRA never would have won." I explained.

"But you were undercover for Fury and Bucky wasn't in control of himself, so technically the government has to take that into account." Steve said.

"And they will." I told him. "For James they will, but I wasn't wiped until compliant. I was completely in control when I killed people. They aren't just going to overlook that."

"They beat her." Bucky chimed in. I looked to him to see that he was still staring at his hands.

"James-" I started. He glanced at me quickly before looking to Steve.

"That has to be something, right?" He asked.

"James-"

"Physical and psychological torture if she didn't do what they said." He continued, completely ignoring me.

"James!" I finally snapped at him. His jaw clenched as he looked at me before he lowered his head and sat back in his chair.

"No, he's right. That might work." Steve said and looked at Tony. "Can you look through all of the HYDRA files? We need to find anything we can use."

Tony had been sitting quietly, listening to the whole conversation. He glanced between me and Bucky before looking at Steve again.

"What's in it for me?" Tony finally asked and crossed his arms over his chest. Loki growled and went to stand from his chair until I laid a hand on his arm to stop him.

"I know you're upset with me, Tony." I started and turned to face him. "But I'm trying to help. I'm not sure how many more times you want me to apologize to-"

"How many people?" Tony interrupted.

"Wha- what?" I stuttered, wide eyed.

"How many people did you murder while 'undercover'?"

"Tony!" Steve scolded.

"No, no, I want to know." He waved him off before looking back at me. "Do you even know how many? Did you even care?"

"Stop talking before I permanently silence you." Loki said threateningly.

"I second that." Bucky added and stared daggers at Tony. I was stuck staring at Tony, not being able to look away.

"You want my help, that's my condition." Tony told me and sat back in his chair, waiting for an answer. Tears spilled from my eyes as I remembered the last year.

"Sammee, you don't have to-"

"Fifteen..." I mumbled, cutting Steve off. "I killed fifteen people for HYDRA. Twenty three if you count the HYDRA agents I also killed."

The room was quiet as I looked at Tony. He bit his cheek and nodded before tapping the table. He stood from his chair without saying a word and walked out of the conference room. I wiped my tears and glanced around the room to gage everyone's reactions. Bruce couldn't make today's meeting, which I was now grateful for. Bucky was looking at me, but it was a soft stare. It wasn't accusing, it was understanding. Steve had his head down as he looked at his feet. Loki just looked sad and worried, which made me smile. I was glad he wasn't mad at me. He smiled back and placed a comforting hand on my thigh, giving it a small squeeze.

"Ok," Steve finally sighed. "I'll talk to Tony later. We'll just move on to our next topic. HYDRA has the scepter." He said and looked at Loki.

"And it only took you two years to notice." Loki said sarcastically.

"Loki..." I scolded softly before turning to Steve. "He knows. I had him infiltrate HYDRA and watch over the experiments they did on the scepter while I worked with James." I explained.

"Great, so we know where it is." Steve nodded.

"Unfortunately, we don't." Loki started. "They moved the base when they heard about D.C. and I blew my cover with them when I teleported out to help Sammee."

"So, we need to contact Thor. Let him know what's going on." Steve sighed heavily and ran a hand down his face.

"Is that really necessary?" Loki asked, unenthusiastically.

"Oh, please." I chuckled. "You two have been getting along great lately." I told him.

"Doesn't mean I want to be near him all the time." Loki rolled his eyes at me, making me laugh again.

"We'll call him." I told Steve.

"Anything you can tell us about who we're dealing with?" Steve asked Loki. Loki glanced at me to figure out how much he could tell. "Right," Steve murmured. "Timeline."

"Sorry." I said apologetically.

"No, no, it's fine. I understand." Steve assured me. "We'll just have to do this on our own."
