《As You Wish : Loki Fanfic》Project Insight: Part 3

The biggest problem I faced now was getting up to the helicarrier. It was too far to teleport. HYDRA trained me to use multiple pieces of machinery, including a quinjet, but finding one that wasn't damaged was going to be a problem.

I walked onto the launchpad and scanned the area. There was only one that might work. It looked like one of the engines were a bit damaged, but I only needed it to get me close enough to teleport. I had my plan, but before I left I had one more request for Loki.

"Loki, I need you to go after Secretary Pierce." I told him and grabbed his hand.

"You don't want me to go with you?" Loki asked. He was worried and a bit hurt that I was sending him away again.

"No," I told him and raised his palm to my lips. I gave his palm a gentle kiss before guiding it to lay on my forehead. "I want him dead." I said and looked into Loki's eyes. He was confused and went to take his hand off my head, but I grabbed his wrist to stop him.

Loki looked at me until he realized what I wanted. I wanted him to see into my memories. Loki didn't know what Pierce looked like and didn't have the same grudge against him as I did. I needed him to have that grudge. I needed him to see.

The tickle on my brain was the only warning I got before my eyes fluttered shut and I fell into the memory from last nights mission report. I watched as Pierce hit me and felt the sting on my cheek. I watched as he squeezed my broken and bruised ribs until I was on the floor, gasping for air. I watched as he threatened me. And then it was over and I was back in front of Loki.

"Make it hurt." I said as I opened my eyes. Loki dropped his hand from my head with a murderous look on his face.

"My pleasure, Darling." He told me and looked up at S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters.

"Fortieth floor." I supplied as I started for the quinjet. "Stay alive!" I called back to him.

"You too!" He demanded before we both went off to do our missions.

I walked to the quinjet and teleported into the pilots seat. I powered it up and checked the gages before launching into the air. The engines were over heating, and fast. I watched the needle rise at a steady pace as I climbed higher into the sky. I had maybe sixty seconds before the jet exploded.

I kept my eye on the gage as the jet got closer to the helicarrier, the needle was raising too fast though. I wasn't going to make it in the jet, but it was close, so close. I grumbled to myself as I put the jet into autopilot on full speed and buckled my seatbelts. As soon as the needle hit the red zone I pulled the eject handle. The top of the jet popped off and my seat was ejected another three hundred feet into the air as the jet caught fire and exploded. The added height allowed me to teleport into the control center of the carrier.

The control center was on the underside of the helicarrier. It looked like a glass dome with a computer system hanging in the middle of the room. The only way to get to the computer was to cross one of three metal ramps that led to it.

I teleported just on the other side of the glass. I landed hard on the cold glass and laid down for a moment as the ringing in my ears dampened. I breathed a sigh of relief before hearing fighting above me. I looked up to see Captain America and the Winter Soldier fighting over the software chip meant to take down the helicarrier. I grunted at my sore ribs as I got to my feet.

The Soldier got a good hit on Steve making him drop the chip. It fell to the glass dome below and I teleported over to it. I picked it up and moved out of the way of a falling Winter Soldier. He rolled to his feet and looked at me as Cap jumped down with us.

"Hey, guys." I laughed awkwardly. "I'm going to plug this in," I said and held up the chip, "don't kill each other while I'm gone." I told them quickly as the Soldier picked up Cap's shield and threw it at me. I teleported to the top of the railing before it was ever near me.

I heard gunfire and the two struggling as I walked over to the computer. I lifted the chip and slid it into the empty slot. I heard Steve yell and looked over the railing in time to see the Soldier parkour his way up to the catwalk I was on.

"Charlie lock!" I yelled down to Steve to let him know that the chip was active as the Winter Soldier stood before me. "James..." I started. "I really need you to remember."

"And I really needed you to stay out of the way!" He said and charged me. I ducked under his first punch and grabbed the sides of the railings so I could use both feet to kick him away from me. He stumbled backwards, but caught himself as I got back to my feet.

"Your name-" I started as he came after me again. "Is James Buchanan Barnes." I panted while dodging another strike. "You were born in 19- Shit- 1917 to George and Winnifred Barnes. Your-" I grunted as I narrowly missed a punch to the face. "Your best friend was Steve Rogers. You used to- save his ass when he would get into- into fights." I never realized how hard talking and fighting truly was until now. "You were drafted to the army in 1943- and- and were assigned to the 107th infantry."

"Shut up!" Bucky yelled and spun to kick me. It took me by surprise and had me flying into the control panel of the helicarrier. My back hit the metal guard and I fell to the metal railing below. I tried to get up quickly, but failed as a flesh hand wrapped around my throat and lifted me off the ground.

"Sammee, they're going to blow it. We need to get out of here!" Steve called to me from below and started to make his way to us. I turned my body and hit downwards against the Soldiers arm until he let go. When he did, I dropped to my feet.

"Blow it now!" I yelled back before a metal hand took place of the flesh one around my throat. I tried to break his grip but couldn't. I couldn't think enough to teleport and I wasn't strong enough to get away. "I'm ..." I choked out in a desperate attempt to trigger a memory, but couldn't form the words. I quickly realized his forearm and signed 'family' quickly before grabbing back onto him arm. It worked because the Soldier loosened his grip and furrowed his brow.

Before I could even do anything else, a green blast of magic crashed into Bucky from behind. He released me as his body slammed sideways into the metal railing and collapsed to the ground. I sucked in a breath and fell to my knees as I started gasping beside him.
