《As You Wish : Loki Fanfic》PTSD

"What do you mean 'Killian has her'?" Tony asked and turned on me. "Where is she?" He demanded.

"I don't know. I know where she ends up, not where she is now." I told him.

"And, where is that?"

"She's not there now. And, if I tell you, they might not take her there at all and then we're both screwed!" I exclaimed. "I'm sorry I can't be more help right now."

Tony ran a hand down his face and placed his other hand to his hip.

"Fine." He sighed. "So, all I have to do is fix the suit and save Pepper." Tony mumbled to himself.

"Along with a few others." I added with a shrug. Tony glared at me for a second before shaking it off and going back to work on his suit.

While Tony worked, I took a nap on the couch since he moved his suit to the table. I must have been really tired because I didn't wake up when Harley came back.

"So, what's her name again?" I heard Harley ask as I started waking up.

"Sammee," Tony commented, "but call her Skydive. She loves it." He told Harley.

"If he's allowed to call me Skydive then he's allowed to call you Wormhole since were being nicknamed after stupid decisions we've made." I grumbled as I sat up from the couch. "Hey, Harley. Did you get everything?" I asked and smiled at the young boy.

"Wait a minute," Tony interrupted. "Don't change the subject like you didn't just bring up the single most traumatic event to ever happen to me."

"You know what's sad?" I asked. "9/11 was still double the death count of the invasion." I sighed.

"9/11 happened on your world, too?" Tony asked. I nodded sadly.

"And, then we immediately went to war." I told him. "It was a hard couple of years."

"Did you lose anybody?" Tony asked while taking the pink Dora the Explorer watch and clasping it around his wrist.

"A distant cousin." I shrugged. "I had never met him, but I guess him and my mom used to play together as kids. It was hard on her." I said and looked down to my hands. I tried not the think about it, but I missed my parents. It hurt knowing that they were alive but I couldn't see them, and I might never see them again.

"Alright, don't get all mopey on me, it's weird." Tony grumbled. "Hey, kid! Don't touch that, ok?" Tony turned and said to Harley.

About an hour later, Tony decided he wanted to see the blast site. We all left the workshop and started walking into town. While walking, I could have sworn I saw that black cat again. I knew it was Lokitty, but I wanted to make sure that he didn't get involved.

"The sandwich was fair, the spring rusty, the rest of the materials, I'll make do." Tony started. "By the way, when you said your sister had a watch I was kinda hopin' for something a little more adult than that." He commented and flashed the pink watch.

"Really?" I asked. "Cause I think it suits your ego quite nicely." I smirked.

"My sister's six!" Harley laughed. "Anyway, it's a limited edition."

"See, it's perfect for you." I laughed. Tony rolled his eyes at me.

"When can we talk about New York?" Harley asked for the third time.

"Harley," I called to get his attention, "neither of us want to talk about it. Let it go." I sighed.

"What about the Avengers? Can we talk about them?" Harley continued.

"I dunno, kid. Ask Skydive, she's one." Tony waved off. Harley turned to me expectantly.

"Thank you, Tony." I said sarcastically.

"Yep." He called out as he walked to the middle of the blast site.

"You're an Avenger?" Harley asked excitedly. "But, I don't remember seeing you on TV."

"Uh, yeah, that's because I was hurt during the battle." I told him.

"Woah, really?" He asked. "Do you have a scar?"

"A few." I laughed as the sparkle in his eyes grew.

"Can I see?" Harley asked.

"Not a chance." I smiled smugly and walked to where Tony was. The walls left of the building were barely standing. Dark shadows of the unfortunate souls caught in the crossfire were burned into them. Tons of candles, pictures, flowers, and stuffed toys were sitting in the middle of the destroyed structure as a memorial.

"So," Tony started, "what's the official story here?" He asked Harley.

"I guess..." Harley said in a sad tone, "this guy named Chad Davis used to live round the bouts. He won a bunch of medals in the Army. And one day, folks said he went crazy and made, you know, a bomb." Harley told us and bent down to look at the memorial as Tony ran his hand over one of the shadows on the wall. "Then he blew himself up, right here." Harley finished. Tony and I shared a knowing look before he turned to look at the shadows again.

"Six people died, right?" Tony asked.

"Yeah." Harley responded.

"Including Chad Davis?"

"Yeah, yeah." Harley confirmed.

"Yet, there's only five shadows." Tony stated and sat next to Harley at the edge of the crater the bomb made. "Six dead, only five shadows."

"Yep, people said these shadows are like the marks of souls going to heaven." Harley said sadly. "Except the bomb guy. He went to hell on account of he didn't get a shadow." He explained. I walked over to the two and sat on the other side of Harley. "That's why there's only five."

"And yet, it's all BS." I sighed as I looked down at the crater.

"You don't believe it?" Harley asked me. I shook my head as I spaced out. "You know what this crater reminds me of?"

"Shut up, Harley." I told him and clamped a hand over his mouth. Harley immediately tried to pry my hand away from him. "Remember when we said not to mention New York?" I reminded him. "Because Tony starts to freak the fuck out?" I added. Harley nodded and stopped struggling to get my hand away. "Good, so don't." I said and dropped my hand.

"Do you have PTSD?" Harley turned and asked Tony.

"I don't think so." Tony said as his breathing picked up.

"Oh, uhm, do you need a plastic bag to breathe into?" Harley asked.

"No."

"Do you have medication?"

"No."

"Do you need to be on it?"

"Probably," Tony said at the same time I said,

"Definitely!"

I quickly clamped my hand over Harley's mouth again.

"What did I just say?" I whisper shouted to the boy. A muffled 'sorry' came from under my hand and I rolled my eyes. I looked back up at Tony when he started getting fidgety. I moved around Harley and knelt in front of Tony. "Name five things you can see around you." I told him. Tony looked at me with wide eyes, like I was crazy. "Do it!" I demanded.

"Alright, Alright! Uh, candles, teddy bear, street sign, flowers, you." Tony said.

"Good, now close your eyes and tell me four things you can hear." I told him. He closed his eyes and his breathing became steadier as he focused.

"You, again, cars, people walking, and... and the bar across the street."

"What are three things you can smell?" I asked next.

"Snow," Tony took a deep breath and sighed. "Candles and the flowers." He sighed again.

"Two things you can touch?" I asked. Tony opened his eyes and touched the floor.

"The ground and-" Tony then reached over and pushed Harley over.

"Hey!" Harley protested.

"And Harley." Tony finished.

"And, he's back." I smirked and stood up.

"Yeah." Tony nodded and stood with me. "Where'd you learn that?" He asked.

"I used to have a lot of panic attacks when I was a teenager." I shrugged. "I learned how to calm myself down."

"Right." Tony murmured. "So, where to now?"

"Now," I started. "We need to go save one Mrs. Davis."

After sending Harley home, Tony and I made our way over to the bar.

"You go in, talk to Mrs. Davis. I'll stay out here." I told him. I knew two of the enhanced from Killian's army were going to show up. I also knew that Tony was defenseless. I still had the Aether and my teleportation at least. But, what sold the deal and made me stay outside, was the black cat I saw move around the corner.

"You sure?" Tony asked. "It's pretty cold out here."

"Yep." I nodded and waved him off, "you don't need me for this."

"I don't really need you for anything." Tony smirked and turned to walk into the bar.

"Yeah, I'll make sure to remember that when you ask for my help next." I called to him as the door shut.

We got here a bit faster than he did in the movie, so Tony never bumped into Killian's female agent. That didn't mean that they didn't know Tony was still here though. I looked around for a second before moving to the other side of the building where I saw Lokitty go. Sure enough, Lokitty was sitting patiently for me.

"Really?" I asked him. "You can't be here. Don't even think about getting involved. I'll be fine, but if you absolutely need something to do, you can go protect Harley." I told him. A small annoyed mew came from Lokitty and I rolled my eyes. "I mean it, Loki, stay out!" I said and turned to walk away from him and back to the bar front.

About two minutes later, I saw the agent walk by. She looked the exact same as she did in the film. She was petite with short, auburn hair and her most defining feature was the large scar over half her face. She hesitated for a moment and looked at the bar, but she didn't stop. She just glanced through the window and kept on walking.

"Well, that's not good..." I mumbled as I followed her. She pulled out a phone and typed on it before putting it to her ear.

"You were right." She said into the phone as she turned into the ally next to the building. "He's with Davis now."

I panicked and quickly teleported her phone into my hand as I rounded the corner into the alleyway.

"Hey, junior!" I said way too politely into the phone. "If you could do me a favor and tell Killian to kindly 'fuck off' I would appreciate it."

The woman in front of me whirled around and pulled her gun, aiming it straight for me. I focused and pulled some of the Aether's power. Just like on Asgard, there was a barrier of power protecting me. It was nearly invisible. All that I could see was a slight shimmer, but that was because I knew it was there.

"And who, can I ask, is speaking?" The males voice on the other end asked.

"Ooo, I know this one!" I exclaimed with fake excitement. "It's something like... your mom." I said and smiled at the woman. It would make it so much easier if I could remember her name...

"What did you do to Brandt?" He asked calmly.

"Brandt?" I repeated. "Yeah, there was no way I was ever going to remember that." I said and lowered the phone. "You got a first name? Cause, like, I'm totally going to forg-" I was cut off by her gun going off. The bullet went through the Aether's barrier and fell to ash on the ground. Brandt looked extremely confused. I cleared my throat and bent down to the pile of ash. As I went to pick it up, it turned back into a bullet. I pinched it between two fingers and stood back up. "I, uh, think this is yours." I smiled smugly and held the bullet up.

I probably shouldn't be using the Aether's power since I had no idea what it could be doing to me, or why I could even use it, but the look on Brandt's face was 100% worth it. She shot her gun off three more times. I just rolled my eyes and lifted the phone back to my ear.

"She's not very smart, is she?" I commented.

"She has her uses." The male voice on the other end responded.

"Right," I said while holding the 'i' for a long few seconds. "Anyway, listen, I'm going to need Pepper Pots back. So, can I do that through you, or do I need to talk to Killian directly? Because, I'd really hate to be that person and go over your head, but this is kinda important, so..." I trailed off when I didn't hear anything coming from the phone anymore. I looked down to see that the call ended. "Shit!" I cursed.

Before I could turn around, there was a soft click and the barrel of a gun pressed to the back of my skull. I cursed again in my head and slowly raised my hands.

"Good, you do know when to shut up." The man behind me said. "Let's start with who you are."

I looked up to see Brandt with a smug look on her face. She had lowered her gun and was just watching now.

"Uhh, no habla inglès?" I said quickly before teleporting behind the henchmen. I grabbed Íss from my right side and slashed the blade across his back. He arched away from the pain and grunted with clenched teeth. "Oh, that looks painful." I taunted. He turned on me and I teleported away before I could be shot. "Missed me."

I smiled and leaned against the wall. Brandt finally got her head out of her ass and raised her gun again. The Aether's barrier was still in place, so I didn't really pay attention to her. I did pay attention when the smarter of the two raised his weapon and shot again. I teleported and the bullet ricocheted off the brick wall.

"Wow, O' for two. Three strikes and I think you're out, bud." I teased while swinging my legs off of the fire escape platform I was sitting on. Brandt finally fired a few shots, but her bullets only turned to ash again since I was still on the other side of the barrier. The man, who's name I also couldn't remember for the life of me, turned and shot at where my voice was, but I had already moved. "Three strikes, you're out!" I said loudly from my new place as I dropped the Aether's barrier.

As expected, the henchmen spun and shot at where my voice was coming from. He didn't even look properly. He just aimed and shot without thought. I teleported as the gun rang and, as I did, he realized his mistake. I was directly in front of Brandt, so when I teleported, the bullet meant for me lodged directly between her eyes. She collapsed to the ground like dead weight... probably because she was.

"Woah, does that mean I win?" I asked from behind the man. "Because I'm pretty sure you definitely just lost-" I could see him shake with rage. I went to teleport again, but I was too slow. The henchmen spun with incredible speed and backhanded me. I was only fast enough to raise my arms and protect my head from his hand. My body flew into the brick wall and I felt my skull bounce off the hard surface. "Ok," I groaned, "times up."

I teleported out of the ally and in front of the bar. I could see people everywhere finding cover from the gunshots. I stumbled a bit to the entrance of the bar and opened the door. Everyone inside was on the floor with a few exceptions. The sherif, his deputy, and a few armed civilians stood protecting the door. The sherif was looking out the window for the threat.

When I got through the door, I immediately had a gun pointed in my face. I rolled my eyes and teleported over to where Tony was still casually reading Chad Davis' file. He was sitting calmly while everyone else was hiding underneath the tables.

"Come on," I told Tony as I appeared in front of him. "Time to go. We're out of time."

"Does it have anything to do with the angry man with a gun?" Tony asked while still looking at the file.

"Yes, now hide the file because he's after it!" That finally got Tony's attention. He quickly shut the file and threw it under a bench. "Quickly, quickly. Come on, let's go!" I said as Tony stood from his seat.

A loud scream was heard from behind us and I turned to see our very own villain burning the face off the deputy.

"Oh, shit! I think that's worse than shooting the sherif." I said as I pushed Tony toward the back exit. When we pushed through the door the emergency alarm started going off, immediately drawing attention to us. I slammed the door shut and turned to follow Tony away from the bar.

"What the hell did you do, Skydive?" He asked.

"Oh, you know, just pissed some people off." I shrugged as I tried to catch my breath.

"We need to get him away from civilians." Tony commented as he looked around. "Bingo." He mumbled and started moving toward a construction sight. I followed behind until I heard the loud creaking of metal. I turned around to see our henchmen melting the metal supports of the water tower.

"I forgot about the water tower..." I said to myself before turning back to Tony, who was several steps ahead. "Tony, he's collapsing the water tower." I called out and teleported back to Tony's side. "And, unless you wanna be in a watery grave, I suggest you move faster." I recommended. Tony turned his head to look and the way his eyes widened would have been comical if we weren't running for our lives...

...Well, Tony was. I could teleport far enough away, but I didn't want to just leave him. Not right away, at least...

A loud crunch echoed before squeals of metal followed behind it as the water tower started to fall.

"Hey, Tony, do you remember me telling you I figured out how to teleport living matter?" I asked a bit out of breath.

"I thought the law of equivalent exchange applied."

"It does, sorry." I then teleported just before the water tower exploded.

I watched from the top of a building as water flooded over the construction site. I lost sight on Tony for a second until the tidal wave of water dissipated. Tony was laying on some metal beams picked up from the water. His foot was caught between two support beams from the water tower. The henchmen, who's name I still couldn't remember, stepped around the mess of crumpled metal and headed for Tony.

"Well, now that I have your attention," the henchmen started, "I want my goddamn file."

I saw an opportunity and got one of my blades out. While our bad guy was distracted with Tony, I teleported behind him. As I moved my blade forward, the man spun and caught my forearm. I looked up to him with wide eyes to see him smirking back at me.

I dropped Eldr from my hand and dropped my body low to catch it with my free hand. When I felt the handle in my left palm, I wrapped my fingers around it at stabbed upwards. My blade penetrated just under his ribs. I was really going to have to thank Bucky for this trick when I saw him.

The strained gasp of air from him was all the warning I got before he backhanded me again. Only this time, I didn't protect my head. The added injury to my skull made my vision go dark. I was thrown into another support beam and felt it bruise my back. The next half hour or so was fuzzy. Every time I blinked, time would jump forward. I saw Tony shoot the man with his blaster. Then, Tony was standing over me saying we had to go. I tried to tell him to check the body and that the henchmen wasn't dead yet, but when I blinked again, we were in a car.

If I could only remember that dudes name... I know I'd looked it up before. It was something like... Cav- No... Saber? Nope... it was on the tip on my tongue...Ssssss-

"Savin!" I jumped up and said.

"Jesus, fucking-! What?" Tony jumped and turned to look at me quickly before looking back at the road.

"His name, it's Savin, something Savin." I explained as I rubbed my aching head.

"Great, yeah, that's helpful. Hey, warn a guy before you try to give them a heart attack!" Tony sarcastically told me.

"Sorry." I sighed as I looked around. It was morning outside. We looked to be on the highway. "Uhm, where are we?" I asked after not recognizing anything.

"Crossed the Florida border about four hours ago. Have about another three until we get to Miami."
