ailee's bedroom door open to let in the crack of light that fills the girl's bedroom, revealing the bundle of blankets she was hidden under. sapnap looks at her and laughs at the half-asleep state she was in, with her eyes barely open and the weak glare she was giving her friend.
"i despise you" she states in a croaky voice, sapnap laughing and taking a step into the room. "how did you even get into my house?" she asks. "you keep a spare key under the door mat" sapnap says, walking further in and placing something down on ailee's bedside table, before sitting down on the side of her bed and placing a hand in her leg. "i never told you that" she says, trying to hide her increased nerves at the touch, although separated by the blanket covering her body.
"everyone keeps it there, its pretty obvious. take those" he says and laughs, pointing to the item he placed on the side table. ailee picks the packet up and looks at it, turning to over to see what it was. "are you trying to drug me?" ailee says with a laugh and sapnap shakes his head, smiling. "its vitamin c, should help you feel better." he says, slightly rubbing her leg with the hand that was still placed on it.

ailee geabs the glass of water that was next to her, takes the pill and places both items down again, sitting up and pulling her knees to her chest so sapnap had more space to sit. he lifts himself up with his arms, moving backwards on the bed and making his way to the left hand side, laying down next to ailee. she straightens her legs again and tosses one of the blankets in the pile over to sapnap, spreading the blanket over him. "you're going to get sick dumbass" ailee mutters, quietly. "i don't care, i want to be here." sapnap replies, his voice deeper than usual as they hold eye contact, his eyes flickering down to her lips. they break eye contact as sapnap clears his throat and looks around nervously, before placing his arm around ailee's shoulders, tracing lines lightly up and down her arm, sending chills down her spine.
ailee grabs her laptop and opens up netflix. "what do u want to watch" she says, looking up to the boy next to her to see he was already looking at her, rather than the screen. "anything, i dont mind" he says, breaking the eye contact to look at the screen, face burning red. "have you watched young royals? its one of my favourites." she says, seeing him shake his head and she starts playing the series. she sets the laptop between their legs, leaning back to get comfortable. as she lays back, she feels sapnap's arm around her shoulder slightly pull her closer to him, his hand still running up and down her arm.
she leans in, leaning her head on his shoulder at first to test the water, but as his arm pulled her closer she layed her head on his chest, snaking her arm around his waist and listened to his heart beat speed up rapidly, similar to hers. it didn't take long for the two to fall asleep in the comfort of the other's touch, each internally freaking out over the proximity.

they both woke up a few hours later, making their way to the kitchen where ailee made herself a cup of tea in hopes to make herself feel better, fetching sapnap a cup of water as he sat at the counter. "hey, i was thinking maybe we could stream together soon? my viewers love you from twitter already and i thought it would be fun." sapnap proposes, taking the glass of water and sipping it. "yeah! that sounds fun! when were you thinking?" ailee says, dipping the tea bag into the boiling water, throwing it out when it was to her liking.
"maybe today if you're up for it? like after you finish your tea we can go to mine and start?" he says, eyes trailing the girl make her way around the counter to sit next to him. "yeah! that sounds good. let me just freshen up a bit after i finish this." she says and smiles at sapnap, who was nodding along with the girl's statement.

Recruit - An Infinite Labyrinth prequel
A prequel to The Infinite Labyrinth. The year is 1816. The British Empire is in full swing, under the auspices of King George III. The Infinite Labyrinth has been pouring out its product from beyond our reality and fostered a new industrial revolution. Times are changing, and the people of London are feeling the winds of the revolution while British Professionals push into the Labyrinth. The newly formed Artefact Hunting Company is looking for recruits, and they have new technology to help them. From the slums of London, they aim to recruit a new wave of Professionals. And make Zacharias and the Earl of Carnavon lots of money. So, for Rowan Rivers and a handful of lucky ones, it's time to head into the Labyrinth, and discover what makes it different from England. And what makes THEM different? Recruit is a bunch of chapters I wrote to create to the setting, mood, and game systems of the Infinite Labyrinth. It is NOT a complete story in the classic sense. It's more of a slice of life view of early days of a normal Professional from the Infinite Labyrinth, and it's heavy on info-dump. It's 90% canon - there's probably a bit of a difference between how some characters and common behaviour are portrayed here and how they'll come out in the main story. Set two years before the events that kick-start the main series, it features some of the secondary/peripheral characters of the Infinite Labyrinth and will tell you all about the basic mechanics of the Labyrinth's RPG system. It can be considered a spoiler, as the characters in the Infinite Labyrinth are going to need to figure out all that, on their own. But if you like a much deeper exposition in the mechanics, here it is. The entire prequel is about 80 pages long.

Sweet Minds
"No one can see it, some can feel it, and only the few can use it. We belong to the few." Marith Merryfield felt anything but merry that morning. She found herself waiting for a delayed train on a deserted platform, in the freezing cold of the Dutch autumn. Just when the strangeness is making her consider turning around and going back home an empty train rolls into the station. For reasons unclear to this day she decides to get onboard. An unlikely, and quite impossible, train accident is about to hurtle her into a world she had always suspected existed. It was a dark and absurd place she had rejected and suppressed when she was young. Now she would need that dormant part of herself to survive. After a brief hospitalization she must choose between two continents and finds herself reluctantly boarding a plane to Oregon to be reunited with her shadows. She returns to the town she grew up in, which is where her father still lives and her childhood memories linger. By the end of the week the mysterious train accident turns out to be the least of her problems. Her life was never supposed to become this serious this fast. Through an improbable and unfortunate series of events she is soon introduced to a motley crew of characters that appear to be carrying the same struggles through life. They possess a familiar sense of inadequacy and insecurity. Marith realizes that for the first time in her life she has found herself a tribe, or, as they prefer to call it, a Chain. She is introduced to a world of Prophets, Runners and Mages led by an Oracle and a Watchmaker. Over the course of several weeks Marith learns that, together with her Chain, she is expected to save this fabric of reality, by fighting a mysterious and immortal creature and his aggressive pet. In order to have a chance at overcoming this force of nature she has to revisit the darkest and most desolate corners of her mind. ***** The total word count of the first 12 chapters amounts to about 85.000 words. The total word count of the first 30 chapters will amount to about 225.000 words. My chapters range, roughly, from 5.000 to 10.000 words. I post with irregular intervals, on random days and at different times. I hope you will enjoy the story! English is not my first language and I am very much open to constructive criticism. Disclaimer: I regularly use impressionistic or abstract language on purpuse, when I think it might benefit the story.

I rely on my necromancy, a magic my mother had me swear to never use, and learn other magics too, just to survive. What will I find returning to my village? What sort of world exists beyond it? I seek to refine my strength and find a new home in this strange and violent world. This time, I won't let my home burn. (LItRPG elements showing up throughout the story with in-world skillbooks, first dozen chapters Syr has no access to said skillbook)

The book of forever
An experimental diary of sorts recounting my life and experiences, written as a slightly whimsical scifi story about setting off from the past to unknown lands, rebuilding from nothing and finding myself again. The first section of the book contains matched chapters, a chapter for a interlude, both happening at the same time roughly The second section of the book contains more one off stories as we follow one of the travelers explore their heart as well as a unknown land, growing in the process. All of the text here was written in 10 syllable chunks, this reads like a epic of sorts, just with more philosophical focus and POV jumps. Hope you enjoy! >Updates may be sporadic as I only write when I have something about myself I want to share The chapters can all be read individually, although there may be some crossovers between them they work as single poems. You start at whatever chapter you want since these are a collection of roughly connected poems (although you'll notice tie ins and references to eachother)
