I didn't know the retirement of Mr. Lee would have such a big impact on me.

Yesterday, all the staffs gave him presents & flowers before his departure. It was his last day at work and everyone made sure that he went with a bang.

When everyone left and he asked me to wait for him, I couldn't help but feel a bit emotional by his words.

"Y/n-ie, I know you will do tremendous work whether I am here or not. I have put a good word about you to the CEO so don't worry or stress about him. He's a really good person. I hope you do great things in life and I will cheer you up at every step of the way" his words made me tear up but I kept it together.

He was a father figure to me and in some ways, he could probably read my behaviour and action.

The fact that he knew I would feel a bit unstable after his departure & the arrival of a new presence and he made sure & did what he could do to ease the new presence is something didn't take for granted.

When people who had known me for years didn't understand me, this person who I only worked with and didn't interact with a lot, understood me without a single word.

It was because of people like him that I didn't lose the tiny remaining hope in my life.

"Y/n! The new boss is here! He's having a tour of the building right now" Chul said excitedly next to me.

I couldn't help but feel something build inside me immediately.

I didn't know if it was my instinct but something didn't feel right. I just brushed it off as my usual anxiety.

It was something that I was experiencing for the past couple of years ever since that incident, it wasn't anything new. Suddenly, the door of our floor opened.

We were situated or more like our department was situated on the third floor and the fourth floor, the one above us was strictly reserved to the boss and secretary with two separate rooms.

Our floor consisted of 6 cubicles thus 6 staffs who worked there including Chul and I.

Our glass walls gave the perfect view of the city. It was a modern building yet with a touch of contemporary.

"Here's the third floor where our managers and analysts work. We haven't changed anything from the last time you visited, Mr. Park."

I heard the secretary, Eun speak which I guessed was to the new boss/CEO. The surname 'park' made my heart beat faster and gave me a wave of nausea but once again, it was something that I was familiar with.

It was a common name and couldn't stress every time I heard it....

that's how I reassured yourself.

"Thank you, Miss Cho" a deep male voice uttered with strong footsteps approaching near us.

I started sweating profusely, the voice seemed way too familiar.

It couldn't be

It can't be...

My mind was chanting those words like a mantra.

I still couldn't see the person in my periphery because of my co worker who was sitting in front of me but felt scared to even move my eyes.

I moved far away, I changed every detail about myself, I was finally living peacefully!

It can't be that person!

"Good morning, everyone!" at the sound of his voice, everyone stood up and faced him to greet him.

I slowly stood up from my seat and kept my face down.

This is a mistake, it can't be that person!

I didn't run away to fall into the same pit of darkness!

God wouldn't do that, does he hate me that much?

Please god, please!!!

This can't be! I'll do anything you want, but please he shouldn't be the one I am thinking.

And then his next few words crashed my world apart.

"I am your new boss...... park jimin."
