《A dangerous game.》02

"Drink drink drink!" Cole cheered on Harry as he threw back shots at some bar in down in London. It was filled with a musty smell of cigarettes and liquor. Lana didn't like it, she was happy because Harry was happy, well kind of.

People in the bar stumbled around leaving but lana and her 'friends' stayed put. She was definitely uncomfortable, she hated this type of thing. She would rather be book shopping or having tea studying then out at a bar at 12.

Harry threw back the sip of alcohol as London called for more shots. Lana had been here for 2 hours with her boyfriend and for some reason it wasn't helping her like he said it would. And she didn't like it.

She couldn't take it anymore "Hey I am going to step out hm?" Lana said to her, now, tipsy boyfriend.

"Okay." He smiled turning around and laughing at a joke James said as they both smacked the table in laughter they could not contain. Lana scoffed picking up her bag draping it over her shoulder as herbheals clicked against the sticky floor leading her out of the bar.

Old drunks called after her as she exited which she quickly ignored them opening the door letting the bell ring.

She walked down the street as couples, friend groups and family's strolled past the blonde girl. Her smile was now back on her face, replacing the uncomfortable look she had on her face back at the bar. Feeling the London air against her skin sent chills down her spine. She loves that feeling.

She scurried past people mumbling sorry or excuse me ma'm when she had to get past. Her hand remained clutched on the top of her bag as she spotted a book store at the end of an alleyway. Lana smiled in excitement as she picked up her pace making her way down the street.

Her hand clutched the handle as the cold air hit her. Books lined the walls, piling into the shelves. Books pouring out as boxes as she stepped inside. She thought if she had touched one book on the stack standing next to her that they would in fact collapse the whole store.

"Good evening madam, can I help you with anything?" The lady behind the desk- who Lana noticed had a short blonde bob that grazed her shoulders. She was a slender woman, her fingers gripped the side of the desk as a smile plastered on her face.

"I am okay, thanks so much though." Lana smiled at the woman kindly as the lady flashed her a grin. Lana made her way around the store picking up books left and right, reading the book jackets. Her eyes scanned over the pages on the edge of her shoes loving every minute of reading.

The bell chimed as Lana sat quickly sat on the floor laying her bag next to her. She scanned through the bottom shelves that she hadn't gotten to see yet.

"Do you need any help sir?" The lady said in the front but Lana didn't pay attention.

"No thank you." The man said as Lana heard boots clamping on the floor. She was already pulled in by this book jacket that she had to get it.

Her eyes scanned over the shelves as the steps got closer. Her head turned seeing a tall slim man with platinum blonde hair. His back was to her as his large hands grazed over the top shelf pulling down books and reading the book jacket.

He turned around but Lana panicked. She tried to turn around but he had already caught her staring. Shit she thought to herself. That's her professor.

"Lana." He said calmly scanning the shelves but his eyes landed back on her as Lana noticed what her professor was wearing. A black turtleneck with gold jewelry, black pants and dress shoes. A long coat hung from his Body like hers.

"Professor," She chuckled awkwardly as her legs pushed her up but her arms held all of the books she was about to buy. "Crazy seeing you here." She laughed again as he stayed silent still holding his books.

"Very crazy, I didn't know you lived on this side of town Lana." His hand glided over a hard cover book pulling it down. He is acting so calm? Lana thought to herself. I am literally panicking right now.

"I don't-" she laughed again as the professors eyes were glued to a book "my friends- well not really friends- dragged me here to a bar but I left." She rocked back in forth again.

"You do that a lot," he mumbled still having his eyes on the paper. Lana looked confused but before she could say anything he spoke up again "Rock back and forth." He looked up smiling a bit.

"Oh- um I guess I do," Lana smiled. Think of something else to say! This is so awkward Lana. "I didn't know you read." She blurted as he laughed picking up the book and tucking it under his arm.

"You don't say, I wouldn't have guessed since I do teach poetry and English." He grinned as Lana chuckled in embarrassment. Why would you ever say that. Lana thought.

"Right." She kept her lips pursed in a line as her professor took a big breath picking up another book. Lana just stared waiting for him to say something but he never did.

He finally looked up "Are you going to keep staring? Or?" He questioned as she took a sharp breath taking her eyes off of her professor standing in front of her.

"Sorry sorry um I will see you in class tomorrow- right. Okay goodbye." She said turning her heals walking down the rows of books.

"Goodbye miss Owens." He breathed as she turned the corner out of his sight when she leaned on the flimsy bookcase next to her for a quick breath but that ended shortly when the top of the pile came down on her.

"Fuck." She cursed as the books landed on the floor. She heard a chuckle from the corner as she picked up the books cursing to herself.

"Are you okay Lana." Her professor said as she rolled her eyes.

"All good- great. See you tomorrow- again. I already said that." She says blankly as the professor laughed around the corner.

"See you tomorrow- again miss Owens." She heard him say as she finished with the books before walking up to the desk.

Her books hit the table as the slim blonde lady smilies starting to scan the books as fast as she could. Once she was done Lana quickly gave her the credit card "it's going to be 70.35." Smiled the lady as she put the credit card in before waiting a few minutes it beeped signaling it's done.

Lana took it back as the woman out all of the books in one bag handing it to Lana. "Thanks so much." She smiled.

"Of course, see you another time." The lady said as Lana walked away but before she opened the door she heard voices at the cashiers desk.

"Just these two thanks..." mumbled her professor before she shut the door.
