Ever felt the need to drown yourself in the deep sea because of one huge mistake that you have made and you can never undo them?

The doctor's words made me feel that way. I stopped breathing for a while, my heartbeat was racing faster than ever. Hazel was in comma. Letting out a huge sigh, the doctor continued, although I don't see his point.

"We are still trying our best to bring her back to consciousness, but for now, avoid talking about things that would make her even more stressed out. She could only hear, but she can't response," the doctor patted my back and left the emergency room with me and Calum standing still on our feet.

Calum sighed deeply, out of words. I couldn't blame him, I was out of words. It was not even the money for any operations. I could prepare them in a minute, but it was something you could not be cured by the doctors. It was Hazel herself that needed to have enough strength to fight herself.

I blurted out, "I need to see her." I could feel Calum's dark eyes on me as he was about to protest, but I cut him off by saying, "Don't stop me, Calum. I need to see her. I—" I took a long pause, afraid to say the words out loud but said them anyways. "I have to see her, even if it was the last time I will."

A tear escaped my right eye and I wiped it off from my flushed cheek, whispering to myself to be be strong. I looked over to Calum and he nodded slightly, motioning me to go ahead. I walked slowly to the double doors that led to my one and only Hazel. I was terrified to see her condition, although I have seen worse.

My right hand pushed the door carefully not to make a noise, even though I knew she would never hear anything to disrupt her long sleep. I tightened my grip on the doorknob as I saw my sight was the lady I fell in love with, laying there lifelessly. My steps were heavy as I got closer to her hospital bed. There was many machines around her and her body was connected to quite number of wires.

Hazel looked like she was in a very deep sleep, which she sadly was. I wanted to badly go up to her and shake her awake, hug her and tell her I would never let anyone hurt her anymore. But unfortunately, it was too late.

As I reached the side of her white bed, I noticed the glow that usually was on her beautiful face was gone. The smile that she usually put on was no longer lingering on her lips. The eyes that sparkled happiness and excitement all the time couldn't be seen.

Her beautiful, heart-shaped lips were now chapped and purple. Her cheekbones were even visible than before as she looked...dead. I gulped down my throat. But it startled me how she was still beautiful even when she looked like a living dead.

I brought my hand up to her cheek and the coldness radiated from her pale face. Her skin was still as smooth as it was when I first stroked her cheek. I grazed her lips with my fingers lightly and closed my eyes. It was all my fault that she was in this condition. She was a happy person back then. I should have known something like this was ought to happen.

I brought my hand down her chiselled jaw and goosebumps rose on me. She could still made me fall in love with her more and more even when she was not in her physical nor mental state. I found myself sighing again to the thought of losing her. I opened my eyes slightly as my eyes were clouded were upcoming tears.

I held back those tears that were about to fall and whispered to her, with a heavy heart, "If you ever leave me, I'm leaving with you. If you ever wake up, I will never lose you again. If you ever not remember me, I will still always be here for you."

"And until my last breath I will be by your side to tell you how much I love you."
