"Hmm..." a quiet nod was heard in the vast and majestic carriage. If one looked closely, they will see the emblem of the Royal Family on it which means...

The people in the carriage were from the Royal Valentinus Family.

"Don't you dare take that tone with me...!! I will smash your palace into rubble...!!" A very lively irritated voice of a young lady could be heard from the carriage.

"Hmm..." The serious voice nodded again and continued to look out of the window.

"This little..." The Young Lady almost lost her cool and almost kicked the other person in the carriage despite him being older than her.

"Look here..." The Lady with red hair continued, "You were the one who asked me to tag along. The least you could do is make me feel comfortable since you were the one who asked me to go with you to god knows where..."

"Hmm..."

*Wham*

The Pillow in the carriage crashed near the person's head as he nimbly and casually dodged the throw.

"You are always like this...!! I swear, if you were not my brother, I would have thrown you down a canyon long time ago...!!" The Lady lashed out in anger as her red hair fluttered about as she violently trembled with rage.

Despite the lady's crass behavior, the man on the other side of the carriage, who also had red hair, seemed unbothered by her as it was a usual occurrence between them. The maids besides the lady didn't dare to move in fear of the man in the carriage with the neck length hair. As a War-General, the person exhumed a dangerous aura that petrified many people. Not to mention, the rumors on how he has a heart of stone and is merciless to anyone who crossed him made the people fear and respect him.

"You son of a---- God, I can't even swear at you otherwise I will be insulting our mother. Speaking of which, how could a kind woman like mother give birth to a----"

"We are here..." The man spoke full three words interrupting the lady's rants.

"Eh? Wait... Where are we?" The Lady quickly parted the curtains to see a manor in front of her.

Ignoring her, the man whispered something out the window to one of his guards who bowed in agreement and quickly went to the manor gates.

"Hey, you...!!" The Lady looked at one of the maids and asked her.

"Who does this manor belong to?"

"Eh? I..." The maid looked out the window to observe but before she could reply the guard returned with a dejected look on his face.

He shook in fear as he reported something to the man.

"What?" The man's tone became tense and his eyes narrowed.

"Where did she go...?" he asked.

"Th-That's..." The Guard trembled for a bit before speaking...

"The G-Gate Guards said... that she just left this morning... to visit her Grandfather."

"Hey, that lady has a communication ring..." Soul sounded out inside Selena's head while she was being welcomed by the staff of the Venbella manor.

Selena felt like slapping her head. She had expected that there was a spy planted by the Wyatt Family in the Manor and that was the reason why the Wyatts attacked Selena since they must have already known about the old man's deteriorating health.

But what she did not expect was the spy to present herself on a silver platter to her as soon as she entered the place.

"Greetings to Lady Selena...!!" Butler Lennox bowed heartily as the maids, butlers, and Nurse Ursula bowed along with him.

Seeing Selena after so long had brought joy to the old man's heart. He was a bit worried after hearing the rumors surrounding her but seeing her today made all those worries go away.

"Thank you... Please rise..." Selena nodded before saying. As an Aristocrat child, she did not have to bow to the servants despite being younger than them.

Butler Lennox and the others stood up at the command. He closely observed Selena. She had grown to be as beautiful as her mother, probably even more. The only difference between the mother and daughter were their demeanors. Selena's mother, Lily, had a calm and innocent nature whereas Selena exhumed a cold and confident aura. While her mother's eyes were soft and kind, Selena's were sharp as a sword that threatened to mercilessly slay her enemies. Lily always had a kind smile on her face while Selena didn't seem to smile much and had a mildly annoyed look on her face.

'Er... Now that I think of it. The mother and daughter are vastly different and the only thing they have the same is their facial structure.' Butler Lennox thought.

"How is my Grandfather doing?" Selena asked as she ordered the three maids behind her to hand over the gifts she brought to the servants of the Manor.

"He's..." Butler Lennox hesitated for a bit. "H-He's doing fine... for now. He recovered a bit after hearing of your visit. If not for his weakened body, he would have been present here himself to meet you."

"What's wrong with him anyway? Your letter didn't mention the reason for his current health." Selena asked as she motioned Butler Lennox to guide her to her Grandfather. She also asked Soul to keep a lookout and Guard Rhys to follow her as the presence of the Spy indicated that she had already stepped onto the battlefield.

"That's... It is hard to say..." Butler Lennox began to explain, "As you are aware, your Grandfather is a merchant by trade which means he travels a lot. About over a month ago, he returned from his trip to the Blackwoods Forest, after which he started showing signs of weakness and---"

"What kind of weaknesses?" Selena interrupted Lennox.

"Eh? Um... You know, he... uh... he was getting tired easily, ate less food and had a minor headache every now and then."

"I see. Continue..." Selena replied.

"W-Well, we called over doctors but they could not find anything wrong with him. They prescribed him some vitamin pills to cover for his lost energy but he simply kept getting worse."

"He started having coughing bouts and his health kept draining. The Doctors tried every medicine known to man but they still could not help him, hell, they still haven't been able to diagnose the problem yet."

"About more than a week ago, he became so sick that he could not even get out of bed which is where the Doctors gave up and I sent the letters out to both the Booker Manor and the... er... Wyatt Manor." Butler Lennox finished the story and looked for a reaction from Selena as soon as he mentioned the Wyatts but the latter simply walked forward without a change in her expressions.

"Did someone from the Wyatt family visit Grandfather after you sent the letter?" Selena asked.

"Eh? Um... They visited your Grandfather almost every week even before he went on the trip and got sick after he returned. In fact, it was they who hired Nurse Ursula to take care of your Grandfather after he was bedridden."

"I see..." Selena spoke. Since the Wyatt family was after the fortune of the Venbella Manor, it was normal for them to butter up to the old man. But what worried her was the doubt that it was the Wyatts who made the old man sick in the first place. However, it was still a doubt, as Grandfather had gotten sick after visiting the Blackwoods forest and she had no proof of the Wyatts involvement in the matter.

She used Soul's radar to observe the Nurse, Ursula.

The middle-aged woman had an average build and did not seem to carry with her any weapons or poisons. She kept fidgeting a little whenever she looked at Selena's back as if she was hiding something.

"The Nurse is currently Anxious and a bit fearful..." Soul replied after checking her with his lie detector radar.

"Looks like the Wyatts have already prepared something for me and she is part of that plan. Stay Alert..." Selena replied to Soul.

"Yes, Ma'am...!!" Soul replied.

"We are here..." Butler Lennox spoke as they reached in front of a big door on the upper floor.

But before he could open it, the Nurse spoke out.

"P-Pardon me... Sir Lennox?"

"Hmm...? What is it?" Butler Lennox turned to face the Nurse with a mildly annoyed face.

"T-That... the Master had requested... that he should be left alone with M'lady Selena when she comes to visit." Nurse Ursula spoke in a timid voice with a lowered head.

"What? When did he say that?" Butler Lennox asked as he tried to remember.

"I-It was soon after you left and I was tending to him. I-I am sorry that I forgot to tell you about it till now." the Nurse replied apologetically.

"I see..." Butler Lennox replied with an annoyed face.

"Soul..." Selena called out as soon as the nurse started speaking.

"Already on it...!!" Soul replied.

As soon as the conversation finished and Butler Lennox showed an annoyed face, Soul's voice rang out inside Selena's head.

"Déjà vu..."

"What?"

"It means we have already been in this situation before...." Soul replied and continued.

"There's someone hiding inside the closet of the bedroom, and by the looks of it, it is an assassin."

"What?!" Selena's eyes almost widened in shock before she brought her emotions back in control.

"What about my Grandfather...?! Did he already----"

"No, he is still alive. Probably unaware of the assassin's existence."

"Phew... Start with that first, then...!!" Selena scolded to Soul. She almost had a heart attack.

"Wow? How do you expect to get a boyfriend with that attitude?" Soul replied in an annoyed tone.

Selena ignored him as her mind started to race.

There were two possibilities awaiting her after she entered the room.

First, Since only Selena and Old Man Finn would be in the room, the assassin's job could be to kill them both, clearing the way for the Wyatts to devour the fortune. However, this wasn't feasible as Selena had a coin with the emblem of the Royal Family on it, which means her death would be personally investigated by the Royal Family and the chances of the Wyatts not being found out were slim.

The second scenario is more plausible, which is to kill her Grandfather when she is alone with him and pin the murder on her. Even though Finn Venbella wasn't an aristocrat, he was still a very well renowned merchant in the Kingdom of Evergreen. His death would definitely end in her arrest. The Wyatts could use this to deny her the share of the fortune and at the same time, plunge her reputation in the gutters. The Nurse was probably ordered to make sure only Selena enters and not her guards for the plan to succeed.

Selena looked around. An Assassin hiding in the closet, a bedridden old man, a nurse who is a spy with a communication ring, her own guard, along with her secret guard dressed as a maid.

Selena took a deep breath as she closed her eyes. After a small pause, she let out her breath as her eyes opened slowly and a small grin was placed on her lips.

"Is it really that easy?" she thought to herself as a chilling aura emanated from her.

She had come here to simply ruffle some feathers but she did not expect to get a chance to behead the chicken as soon as she got here.

She discussed something with Soul before turning to face the Butler, Lennox.

"I think it would be better to adhere to Grandfather's wishes. I also would like to talk to him privately for a minute."

"That's... okay." Butler Lennox hesitated slightly before agreeing.

"M'Lady..." Guard Rhys wanted to interject but was stopped by Selena who waved her hand in order to stop him from speaking.

"Everyone, stay out here... I will call if I need anything." Selena commanded as she opened the door and went inside, closing it behind her.

Upon entering, she saw a vast bedroom filled with many things. In the room, there was a Queen-sized metal bed and on it, a sleeping old bearded man who looked weary.

Selena approached the bed. Selena placed her hand on the old man's hand and spoke.

"Grandfather?"

"Hmm? Eh... What?" The Old man abruptly shook a bit before opening his weary eyes. His vision was a bit blurry and he could only make out some facial expressions of the woman in front of him.

"Lily...?" he asked in shock with a hoarse voice.

"No..." Selena replied, seemingly heart-stricken at the old man's pained look.

"That's... You... Little Lena?" the old man raised his head as his vision cleared and he saw Selena looking at him with a mixed expression of pain and sadness... and a hint of alertness.

"Little... Lena... No... You are not so little anymore..." Finn teared up after seeing his grand-daughter after so many years. However, before he could speak more, Selena made a weird request.

"Grandfather, could I borrow this bed for a minute?"

"Eh?"

"This bed? Can I borrow it?"

"Eh?!... Um... Sure, but why---"

But before he could ask, several weird things happened one after another within one breath.

*Kacha... Swoosh...!!*

He heard the door of his closet opening followed by a wind-like sound. But before he could look to see the reason for the noise, a faint blue light was seen in his peripheral vision along with a weird sound.

*Wrrriiingggg... Swooppp...!!*

Suddenly, the old man felt as if he was laying in mid-air. He looked down to see that it was not his imagination but the big queen-sized metal bed had really disappeared.

*Plop... Crash...!!*

The Old man fell on the floor and his buttocks ached as a sharp pain rose from it.

"Aiieeee....!!" he cried out in pain. But before the pain could recede, he heard very loud noises in a series.

*Wrrriiingggg... Swwiishhh...!!*

*CRAASSHHH....!!!*

"GRRAAAGGGHHHHH...!!!"

The old man quickly forgot his own pain at the sound of the blood-curdling scream and darted his eyes at the source. At the same time, the door of the bedroom was smashed open by Guard Rhys and several people entered the room after hearing the noises.

What they saw left them in a frozen state as the scene before them was out of this world.

Old Man Finn was lying on the floor and his bed was on its side next to Selena. The bed's one side was bent as it suffered damage after crushing... someone.

Everyone looked below the bed to see a man in black clothes being crushed by the bed as he was wailing in agony as the sheer weight of the Queen-sized metal bed had broken several of his bones.

It did not take them long to understand the situation but the way the situation played out was still a mystery. They all looked at Selena, hoping to get an answer.

However, Selena simply flexed an arm and patted it with the other, while the assassin continued to scream in the background during which she said,

"I have been working out."
