"Leah? Earth to Leah?" A voice said, trying to bring me out of my day dreaming.

"Ow!" I yelped and looked at the perpetrator who pinched my cheek.

"Finally, what the heck are you day dreaming about?" Kayla asked. We were currently sitting at my kitchen table working on an English assignment that was due tomorrow.

I looked down at my paper only to see a blank sheet staring back at me.

"Leah, what were you day dreaming about?" Kayla asked once more.

A blush rushed to cheeks as I remembered.

"Didn't think I would let you go twice in one day, did you?" Jace said a devious smirk played on his lips.

I glanced up to his face. He had recently showered the tips of his hair was still slightly damp. The scent of his body wash filled my senses.

Does he use Axe body wash?

It smells like it. Wow.

Leah, not the time.

I stepped back to put some space between us. "Should I remind you that I was actually kidnapped?"

"Uh, funny. I see that you didn't make an attempt to escape."

"Sorry. unlike you, your friends are actually fun."

Jace's face flashed fake hurt. "Excuse me? You think those idiots are fun?"

"Excuse me, they are not idiots." I defended. Okay maybe just a little bit.

"Thanks Leah!" I heard a voice yell from afar. Sounded like Luke.

I shook my head. They really are idiots.

Jace shook his head also. He grabbed my arm and pulled me towards the exit of the building.

"As great as this day has been," Jace said with sarcasm in his voice. "It's late and we have to get you home."

I pulled my phone out of my back pocket and looked at the time. 8:50pm it read. Crap.

I was too wrapped up with the guys that I didn't realize the time. My mom is going to kill me.

Jace led us to his black Audi RS 5. Damn, that car is is beautiful.

Slipping into the passenger seat, I let my body setting in the smooth leather of the seat.

Jace started the car and pulled out onto the main road. "Don't fall asleep, yet." He demanded.

"I'm not gonna fall asleep." I said defensively.

Jace turned and gave me a pointed look. "Address."

I narrowed my eyes towards him, but still gave him my address. "1483 Meadow Creek Dr."

Jace nodded and continued driving.

I looked out the window and towards the passing street lights. The weight of the day fell heavily on my eyes and I could feel myself drift in and out of consciousness before I let it take over completely.

I felt a warm presence near my body and my eyes fluttered open to see Jace's face near mine.

His hazel eyes stared deeply into my own. So many emotions swirling within them, I couldn't pinpoint one.

Unconsciously, I bit my bottom lip and automatically his eyes landed on it. His eyes flashed back to mine, only this time darker than before.

His hand reached forward taking a piece of my dark hair and tucking it behind my ear. His fingertips slight brushing against my cheek. Such a small action cause tingles to erupt with me.

Jace leans forward and on cue my eyes fluttered close. I felt his warm breath against my cheek as he inched closer.

The anticipation rising with in me. Waiting for him.

His lips ever so slightly brushed against my own.

Waiting.

Wanting.

And the next thing I know the warmth of him was gone. My eyes shot open to see Jace back in his seat looking straight ahead, not sparing me a glance.

"We"re here." He stated with a steady voice. Like what just happened didn't.

I looked out the window to see my house right in front of me.

"Thanks." I said softly reaching for the door.

"What are fake boyfriends for?" He said with humor in his voice. It was forced.

I looked back to see a smirk on his lips. Even that was forced.

I bid him goodbye and walked into my house. Closing the door, I rested my back against it.

What was I expecting?

What did I want?

Surely I didn't want to kiss Jace.

Did I?

The thought of our almost kiss sent heat running through my body.

What the hell is going on?

"Nothing." I told Kayla.

She narrowed her eyes towards me. Not believing what I said. I had already filled her in on my day with the guys because if I didn't she would had my head. But I did leave out the 'almost kiss' part with Jace.

Kayla was excited that I was venturing out a bit as I am always locked away in my room. But I can tell she's a little sad that she's not included and I'm not about let her feel left out.

Speaking of Jace.

I haven't seen much of a him the pass couple of days after our encounter. He wasn't in class or even around school. Honestly, I'm starting to wonder where he is.

Seems like someone is starting to care.

I swatted that thought away. No way.

Wait, am I?

Nope, can't be.

"So, I heard that there's a party tonight." Kayla said stealing me away from my thoughts once more.

"A party? Didn't we just go to one?" I asked.

"Technically, no. That was kind of a school event." She said.

"Well technically, I'm not going." I told her plainly.

"Leah, please." She pleaded. "It's Jake Livingston's party, you know the captain of the basketball team? The super hot captain?"

I arched a brow. "Is that suppose to convince me?"

She gave me her puppy dog eyes. "Please." She said using her cute voice.

"Kay." I said trying not fall into her trap.

"Please Lee."

"It's Thursday night."

"Please."

"We have homework." I told her trying not look at her.

"Pleaseee." She tried once more the cuteness level at an all time high.

I felt my walls breaking down. "Fine! Only if your homework is finished."

Kayla smirked and handed my her finished English assignment. "Done."

"I hate you." I muttered.

"Love you too, Lee."

Walking intobooming house, all I could see is people dancing, drinking, and playing beer pong.

Kayla decided to dress me up in a black high waisted mini skirt that hugs my hips and had a small slit at the side and a white long sleeved crop top. I tried to change the outfit, but she wasn't having it.

My dark hair was down in wavy curls and of course she got her hand on makeup. It was natural, I made sure she didn't go too crazy with it.

I honestly didn't have a choice in anything on my body right now. But, I'll give Kayla credit, she did know how to dress a girl up.

Kayla herself was dressed in a navy blue romper. It was off the shoulder and had lace sleeves. She made a simple outfit look amazing. Her dark blond hair was done half up and down. Her makeup a bit more darker then mine.

I let my eyes scan the area for a moment and they landed on one person.

Nate.

And I'm not gonna lie, just the sight of him made all the memories flood back into my mind.

He was dressed in a light blue button down shirt, sleeves rolled up to his elbow and dark blue jeans which somehow seem to complement his dark blue eyes. His light brown hair was his usually up but slightly messy like he ran his hand through it multiple times.

He was talking to one of guys who were on the basketball team, his name I'm not sure of. And as if he felt my eyes on him, he looked over. Our eyes connecting.

He scanned over my body, from head to toe and back. And I would be lying if I said that didn't cause me to blush a little.

When his eyes met mine again, they were darker than usual and intense like he craved something.

I broke eye contact and focused back on Kayla, trying to clear my thoughts of Nate.

We will never happen.

Get it together, Leah.

Nate only likes you as a friend, nothing more.

I was still so wrapped up in my thoughts that I only snapped out of them when a pair of hands covered my eyes.

"Guess who?" A deep voice whisper in ear. Small tingles ran down my back. Jace.

"The asshole that's been ignoring me for the pass couple of days." I turned around and gave him a pointed look or I tried too.

Cause damn, he looked hot.

He had a dark red t-shirt on that just had to hug muscles of his arms and abdomen and a pair of black jeans. His dark brown hair was his usually roll out of bed look.

His hazel eyes just scanned down my body taking in every inch. Just his small action caused heart pick up.

"Who are you looking this hot for?" He questioned.

A slight blush made its way to my cheeks. He thinks I look hot?

I internally shook my head. No.

This is a game.

Remember that, Leah.

I took a step closer, closing our distance. We were face to face. I leaned in close to his ear, not before catching the sent of his intoxicating cologne.

"Definitely not for you." I whispered. I took a step back and sent a wink toward his smirking face.

I grabbing Kayla, who was talking to a friend and pulled her towards the kitchen.

Forget Jace. Forget Nate.

It's time to have fun.

And I need a drink. Now.
